Finally Phantasia began, now all the preparations were complete. I walked to the Phantasia venue with Big Sister Wave and Lunette. We ran in a hurry because we were almost late.
She shouted at me while running, "Luna! Hurry up! This is your debut day, what will you do if you're late?!"
I actually wanted to run as fast as I could, but Lunette dragged me by force and pulled my hoodie from behind. I just let her keep dragging me so I don't need to walk anymore.
"Lunette, can you please let me go? I can run by myself," I said while begging Lunette.
But Lunette just laughed excitedly and said, "No, if you run by yourself you'll probably get lost."
I answered her, "It's not like I'm gonna get lost in under five seconds though."
She replied again, "Nope, you will, trust me."
I guess she was right, there were several cases where I often got lost while walking alone. I wanted to say that she was exaggerating, but in reality she wasn't exaggerating at all.
We continued running to the stadium where Phantasia was held. Luckily we arrived just in time before the introduction between the schools. We parted ways with Big Sister Wave who was walking to the audience seats.
"Alright, good luck you two," said Big Sister Wave while waving his hand at us.
Lunette enthusiastically waved back while I just waved my hand shyly. Big Sister Wave moved to the audience seats in the opposite direction from us.
I looked at Lunette and said, "By the way, why didn't Big Sister Wave disguise herself? Won't that cause chaos?"
Lunette just realized that too and laughed mischievously, "I guess you're right, there will be chaos soon."
Sure enough, in less than five minutes there was a riot regarding the arrival of the idol to the stadium. They even announced over the radio about the unexpected arrival of the idols. I could imagine Big Sister Wave's embarrassment after finding out she forgot to disguise herself. The audience gradually ran towards her, asking for autographs and shaking hands with her. They looked very excited, while Big Sister Wave looked very tired but tried to keep smiling. We could only watch from the participant seats and wait for the commotion to subside.
After the commotion subsided, the MC or host that about started his show even though he was carried away by the atmosphere earlier too.
The MC spoke very enthusiastically, "Ah, test, test. Erhm… So we apologize for the commotion earlier! I didn't expect Neon to come to this Phantasia! I'm so excited to host this festival, I love you, Neon!!"
"I was quite disappointed because I was thrown by the crowd when I wanted to shake her hand, but I won't give up! I will shake her hand someday," he continued very enthusiastically.
I started to wonder if this MC had lost his mind or not. He wasn't hosting the show at all and was only telling his about her obsession.
The MC continued by saying, "Alright, enough joking around and now we'll start the Phantasia you've all been waiting for! We already have several schools participating in this event!"
Good, he's still hosting this event. I thought this festival would change from Phantasia to Meet and Greet with Neon. So I'll explain this festival briefly, the purpose of this festival is to showcase the talents of each academy student that can benefit both parties. For the school, they can attract students to attend their school and for the students, they can highlight their talents. For the audience, they get interesting entertainment and they can provide jobs for talented people. This festival is divided into three parts, each held once a day, so this festival lasts for three days.
The first part is a battle between teams from each school. It will be between one school and another, and it will be done until only one school survives until the end. The team will consist of three people, and that person is Lunette and one of her friends who escaped the elimination battle at the school a few days before. Nio just stands behind in confusion. What we're talking about is Lunette, it's worrying.
The host immediately started the show, "We will welcome the first lucky school to step up to the stage! Tyone Academy! Please enter!"
Lunette and her team members stepped up and onto the battle arena with enthusiasm. Lunette looked very excited, as did her two friends. They didn't look nervous at all, sometimes I envy their nature like that.
The host continued, "And we have an opponent from Tyone Academy, Raseal Academy, please step up!"
The three members of the Raseal Academy team went up to the arena very proudly. They looked like nobles. Raseal Academy was a school for nobles, so it was only natural that they looked very luxurious.
They looked at Lunette and gave her a thumbs up, then turned it around and pointed it down. They looked down on Lunette while laughing as if she didn't deserve to be their opponent.
Instantly, people immediately cheered and clapped seeing Lunette and her friends being underestimated. Lunette just chuckled at it and stuck out her tongue as if mocking them from afar.
One of the Raseal Academy members said, "Oh, you dare to mock us? I guess you don't regret looking down on us who are nobles, you garbages."
Lunette only answered him with, "My big sister said that people who try to look down on others are actually weak. Like a dog that barks to look strong to a bigger opponent."
The audience became even more excited seeing Lunette turning the words of the noble student around. She did it again, I hope nothing bad happens. The Raseal Academy students looked annoyed hearing it. They seemed to want to target Lunette first.
The host started the battle by shooting his gun upwards, signaling the start of the fight. The Raseal Academy students immediately advanced, but stopped in their tracks. Lunette was seen advancing alone while her two friends were seen joking behind her.
"How long are you going to look down on us?" One of the Raseal Academy students asked her in annoyance.
Lunette answered him casually while walking slowly towards them, "If you're upset, beat me. I can hear your complaints later after you beat me."
They were so upset hearing it that one person from Raseal Academy stepped forward alone. It looked like there was going to be a one-on-one fight, not a team fight anymore. Why do I feel like I see two Lunettes with different looks and abilities?
They started the fight, but soon one of the Raseal Academy students was defeated. His two friends were immediately alert because they were shocked. They immediately ran forward and charged at her with their weapons. Lunette avoided all of their attacks and parried them effortlessly. Her movements were quite smooth for a student.
Lunette did not use her magic, but used her sword to attack them even though they used magic to attack Lunette. In less than three minutes, Lunette defeated them all alone and raised her sword up as a sign of her victory. The entire audience was interested in her and cheered for her who won against the students of the academy which was a school for nobles.
"The winner is participant Lunette from Tyone Academy!! What a fast fight!!" The host shouted using the mic excitedly.
Big Sister Waves is cheering from the audience seats. Right after all the audiences heard her cheers, all of them started cheering for our academy as well following her. Seems like she lost control for a while before composing herself again.
She was really excited. Was this also the influence of Big Sister Wave? Everyone clapped and cheered for my academics after Lunette and her friends won.
The second round started again when Lunette arrived at the waiting room.
"Luna! How is it? Am I great?" Lunette asked in an arrogant tone.
I could only reply with a small smile, "Yeah, yeah, you're great."
She raised her hand as if she wanted to do something. I didn't know what she wanted to do so I just tilted my head in confusion as I stood there in silence for a few seconds. She let out a small sigh and gestured for me to raise my hand too, so I did.
As soon as my hand was up, Lunette clapped her hand hard against mine and said, "Yeay!"
What was she doing? I didn't really understand but I guess I'll take it.
The next battle was between Nissel Academy and Ringard Academy. Nissel Academy was an academy that focused on magic, so they didn't focus on physical combat. Most of their students were good at long-range combat. Next, Ringard Academy was an academy that balanced their magic and physical combat, in short their academy was the same as ours.
I could see a muscular man charging forward without caring about anything in front of him.
"Like a bull," Lunette said.
I nodded my head in agreement, "You're right, like a minotaur."
The person kept running forward and only stopped when he was almost out of the arena, but when he stopped he would charge back into his opponent. The other two members of his team seemed to be using magic to strengthen the person. So that's how it is, maximizing the power of one person.
I could see the Nissel Academy students looking like they were having a hard time fighting him. They were long-range specialists, it couldn't be helped. The defeat was accepted by Nissel Academy. It didn't mean they were weak, it was just that they faced the wrong opponents.
Leo came up to me and said, "What do you think, Luna?"
I paused for a moment and answered him, "They are strong, it's just that they focus too much on magic so they are not suitable for a fight like this."
Leo nodded in agreement and said, "I think it's rare for someone to be able to fight on the front lines and the back lines, huh."
I looked at him and could see him smiling with an arrogant face. This trait of his was very similar to Lunette's. I think they are separated siblings, although it's strange to say that they are Lunette's twins.
There are also Tiune Academy, Redione Academy, and also Onyx Academy. They are academies that can be said to be quite superior. The academy is filled with nobles or focuses on explorers. Redione Academy focuses on educating its students to become explorers, they even promise their future in the guild. There are many more academies that have their own goals.
One of the leading academies, Lionel Academy, is fighting in the arena. They are filled with superior people who are only recruited directly and recognized by the principal. They are very strong. The magic they use seems to have no gaps, even in terms of physicality they can be said to be almost invincible.
They fought in the arena for less than a minute, even a Lionel Academy student fought a Redione Academy team easily. The person who fought the team was Gyrus, looking very strong and scary. His face showed no expression except flat. You could say gloomy, it really suits his dark red uniform. Even so, people applauded because his performance was very good even though it was brutal.
The battle continued in the arena, then our turn would start again.
Lunette immediately raised her hand and spoke in an enthusiastic tone, "I will join in this second match!"
Rena smiled anxiously and said, "That's fine, but aren't you still tired?"
Lunette replied back with, "Tired? You're so naive, Rena."
I patted Rena's shoulder and shook my head, gesturing that it was useless to talk to Lunette when she was excited. Rena also seemed to understand what I meant.
"So, Luna, Leo, and I are definitely going up to the arena," Lunette said as she pulled me towards the arena.
Leo just laughed and followed us, "Fufufu, I think this is going to be fun."
Me, Lunette, and Leo huh. Isn't this dangerous? As far as I know, this team is the worst out of all the combinations of the six chosen members in our academy, but also the strongest one, maybe. Whatever it is, I guess I have no other choice. Leo just walked casually while Lunette pulled me forcefully.
We entered the arena, and we were up against one of the famous academies, Onyx Academy. They looked strong, I could see their desire to win.
Leo just laughed and spoke to Lunette, "I think our opponent this time is quite easy, huh, Lunette?"
Lunette followed by saying, "True, but I think this time will be more challenging than before."
I could see our opponents looking very upset. But they seemed to be trying hard to cover it up by looking down on us.
One of them said, "I see. I guess you guys are looking down on us quite a bit."
Another person said, "That's right, I envy those who are confident before they begin to fight."
Another person said, "I don't think we need to be jealous, since we can easily defeat and humiliate them."
The host said, "Enough talking and let's continue the show, all of you! Neon is watching us, you know!"
Why did he bring my big sister here? I could also see my sister standing up and clapping her hands excitedly as soon as we entered the arena. There were even some viewers who were surprised to see her clapping, they suspected that there might be something between her and Tyone Academy. Even so, they also normalized it since we were at a festival so they just followed her and began to cheer us.
The host started talking again, "I said enough! Now let the fight begin, all of you students! Neon is at this event!"
Somehow I felt that the longer she spoke, the wilder and rougher she became. She didn't seem to be paying attention to her words anymore. She was so crazy about my sister. I could see my big sister just smiling to maintain her image. She was an idol so she couldn't act carelessly.
The battle began and was different from the previous battles. The atmosphere felt quite tense. Probably because the not-so-strong academy had been eliminated.
"Luna, as usual. The 'charming flower' tactic, okay?" Lunette asked me.
I answered her by saying hesitantly and stepping back a little, "Alright, then please guard the front line."
Leo just answered her while moving forward a little with Lunette, "I think this will be interesting."
Our two opponents immediately ambushed us while his other teammate was behind. It seemed like he was the type to strengthen his team from the back line, which is an enchanter. Our team didn't have anything like that, so we used our pure power.
Everyone in the arena begins to activate their magic. Leo used his magic that had the properties of bubble gum and combined it with his knife, while Lunette coated her sword with her blue flames and shot some of her blue flames towards the enemy to close the distance or keep her distance. Our two opponents used their magic in the form of wind blades and her other teammate used magic that turned his hand into iron.
I just watched them at the back line, watching them from behind and waiting. Their fight was quite fierce, it was the first time I saw Leo use magic. Maybe it was because Leo's magic and weapons were not suitable against his opponent's magic. If I may say, Lunette was more suitable against that iron guy than Leo, what was his name? I think the host introduced all the participants but I don't remember.
Anyway, one of the people who were our opponents in the back row spoke to me, "I guess we have the same role in the team, huh?"
I looked at him and said, "No, our tasks are different."
He replied again while making fun of me, "Oh yeah? I guess you're right, I'm enchanting my team, while you're just staring like an idiot."
I replied back, "Well, I guess you're right. But it looks like my job is done."
He replied back to me in an arrogant tone, "You're right, because my partner will definitely defeat your partner soon."
I nodded and created an arrow from ice by activating my magic. There were some who were surprised and clapped. Among them I could hear Big Sister Wave cheering and clapping loudly. They seemed excited because I, who had been silent for a few minutes, finally moved.
I said to my opponent who was in charge of enchanting his partner, "Are you ready? It's going to be a little cold."
He looked surprised and shouted, "What?! Aren't you-"
Maybe he thought that my job was to strengthen my team or heal my injured team. However, I was actually the same type as Lunette who could fight in any position.
Without waiting any longer, I released my arrow towards him at a fairly high speed, making a small trail of ice on the floor. When it hit him, the arrow hit his body and froze his front and back. I'm sure it would be very cold, but I was used to it because it was my magic.
His other two teammates looked at him frozen in surprise. Leo just chuckled and immediately hit her head without hesitation, making her unconscious. As for Lunette, she was brutal as usual, she roasted her enemy mercilessly with her blue flames. It seemed like she just thought it was a joke.
Lunette walked towards me and said, "It seems like the 'charming flower' tactic is going well huh?"
I sighed and said, "I'm not sure about this tactic because your ideas are always unexpected."
She replied cheerfully again, "Don't worry, I still have a lot of tactics because I've watched other anime and movies."
I answered her with a tired face, "I don't know what animes or movies are, but okay."
Sometimes Lunette did say things that were unclear and unthinkable. The flower charm tactic was one person was tasked with attracting attention while the other comrade did a surprise attack on the enemy and attracted the attention of the other enemy when their comrade fell. A simple tactic, but it worked well enough for an amateur.
After our victory, we walked towards the waiting room and celebrated during break time. All the participants took a break and walked around. Some of them were eating and also just chatting. Lunette and I went out of the waiting room to take a break while looking around the festival.
Lunette grabbed my hand and pulled me around the festival while saying, "Luna, let's explore!"
I just said, "Okay, but don't overdo it."
As soon as we arrived at the entrance, we could see a lot of people gathered. It didn't seem like they were gathered for us, but there was someone standing in front of the entrance as if she was waiting for someone. That person was Big Sister Wave.
"Wow, Big Sister Wave," Lunette said while pointing at her.
She immediately pulled me excitedly and ran towards him without listening to what I said. From the start, Lunette was an overly enthusiastic person, sometimes she forgot to listen to other people's words. That wasn't a bad thing in my opinion, but I wish she could calm down a little.
We were almost at the entrance, but when Big Sister Wave was about to turn towards us, someone spoke to her. We stopped for a moment and watched them talk.
I just tilted my head and said, "Who?"
Lunette shook her head and said, "I don't know."
I guess we shouldn't bother her, it's not good to peeking on other people's conversations. But Lunette seemed very curious. This time I had to be strict with her. Someone had to control her.
I advised Lunette, "We should wait first, they seem to be talking about something important."
Lunette just nodded and said, "You're right. Let's go!"
I was shocked and said, "You didn't hear me-"
Lunette had already run away before I could finish my sentence. She didn't hear me, it seemed like I failed. I didn't want to do the same thing so I just stood behind and waited.
Lunette ran and shouted, "Neon! Long time no see!"
Neon? What is she planning? Big Sis Wave turned to her and seemed to understand what Lunette meant.
She shouted while waving her hands, "Lunette! Long time no see! It's been 2 years since we met!"
Ah, so that's how it is. We would probably be surrounded by reporters if they knew we were the famous Neon's younger siblings. They pretended to be close friends like that. I could see Big Sister Wave putting his arm around Lunette's shoulder and acting like they were very close friends.
I just waited and watched them talk to each other. I didn't expect Lunette to be able to pretend so naturally. She looked so fluent without any gaps at all. The person who was talking to Big Sister Wave also seemed to accept her easily, maybe Lunette's attitude made him believe her easily.
A few minutes later, Lunette and Big Sis Wave turned to me and gestured for me to come closer. The reporters had already left with the person when they finished talking. I quickly came towards them.
Lunette said happily, "That was really fun."
Big Siters Wave walked over while patting her head and said, "You saved me this time, Lunette. I don't know how long I would have stood there if you hadn't come."
Personally, I think Big Sis Wave had been standing there for a long time. I'm not sure I could have done it in that position. What were they talking about? I was curious, but I didn't want to pry into her personal affairs.
Big Sister Wave patted my head and said, "Okay, let's go, Luna."
Go? Where?
Big Sister Wave continued as if reading my mind, "Of course, having a walk, don't look so surprised."
Ah, yes, we promised to spend our break together. We started walking around and trying out a few things. It turned out that the festival had a lot of things, like shops selling food, clothes, equipment, and even some selling magic tools. I was a little interested in it and I went to the shop that sold the magic tools.
I started to mutter to myself, "So there are many types of magic tools huh. Is this a book?"
The shopkeeper came out of nowhere and started talking, "It's called a grimoire, a book that can increase your magic abilities."
Ah, I see. I was a little confused about what he meant about increasing my magical abilities, and I was surprised to hear him answer my question because I was just mumbling a little. I didn't expect anyone to hear me mumbling.
The shopkeeper continued, "You seem confused, little miss."
It was true that I was confused about what he meant, but my feelings were more of embarrassment knowing that someone heard me mumbling to myself. Unlike Lunette, I was quite a shy person.
The shopkeeper laughed and explained, "What an interesting little miss, how about I explain this grimoire to you? Are you interested?"
I just nodded and said, "Yes, please explain in more detail."
The shopkeeper began to explain it enthusiastically, "Well, this book is no ordinary book. It can increase your magical abilities as I said before."
I nodded in understanding for now. He had said that before.
The shopkeeper continued his explanation while showing the grimoire, "What I mean by increasing your magic ability is that you can learn your abilities more deeply, you can get to know the characteristics of your magic more deeply. You can improve your attacks, create new attacks, or even control your magic more freely."
So that's it, he wanted to say that a grimoire was the right tool to learn more about my own magic. It's true, sometimes there are people who study magic, but haven't been able to fully master it. Maybe he wanted to say that the grimoire he was holding could make us master our magic more. I doubt the truth of that because I think mastering magic doesn't depend on books, but rather on the effort we put in.
He continued, "Although, the highest and strongest grimoire is the Book of Origin."
As usual, my trauma attacks me again. gladly, I quickly regained my composure. Again, the Book of Origin. Why does everyone keep talking about that book?
The shopkeeper smiled as if he could read my mind, "You're right, little miss. Mastering magic depends on our efforts. This book only helps us to master it and we still have to try."
I was shocked when I heard that from him. How could he know my thoughts? Could he read my mind? It made me shiver a little.
The shopkeeper said again while laughing, "Don't be afraid. How about you try it? I'll show you how."
The shopkeeper handed me a piece of paper. Although hesitant, I took the paper from him with my right hand. What did he want to do?
I asked him, "What should I do?"
The shopkeeper said, "Flow your mana into the paper you're holding, then your magic skill will be written and will immediately stick in your brain."
I nodded and did what he asked. Flowing mana into the paper, I could feel something flowing from my body. Once I finished doing it, the paper seemed to appear with writing that I didn't understand. I see, this is what he meant by 'the magic ability will be written' on the paper.
I waited until the point where he said it would stick to my brain. However, instead of sticking to my brain, once it was written the paper immediately burned itself.
The shopkeeper was shocked and said in confusion, "That's weird, you should have learned the ability immediately."
Did I fail? Maybe I missed some important step? I didn't understand what went wrong. Confusion was visible on my and the shopkeeper's faces. We looked at each other in confusion.
He said to me, "Well, there are cases like this. Maybe the paper wasn't able to accommodate the mana you have, little miss."
I just said in confusion, "O-oh, okay, thank you for teaching me."
As I was about to leave, the shopkeeper called out to me and stopped me, "Wait, a moment, little miss."
I stopped and looked at him, "What's wrong?"
The shopkeeper held a book and offered it to me, "If you want, I can give you this."
I just stared at the book in silence, it was a grimoire like the one I saw in the shop, but smaller.
I shook my head and said, "No, thank you. I don't have that much money with me."
The shopkeeper laughed and said, "I didn't say I was selling it to you, I said I was giving it to you."
He seemed very excited when he said that. He was truly an energetic uncle. His words and actions always surprised me.
"No need, I feel bad accepting it for free," I replied reluctantly.
The shopkeeper then said, "It's okay, I insisted. If you're that reluctant, then I want you to perform at this festival with even more excitement, Luna."
I was shocked when I heard that. How did he know my name? I didn't remember introducing myself to him. No one around me called my name either.
The shopkeeper smiled and said, "I support Tyone Academy, so I know your name. Your performance just now was great. I didn't expect a shy little lady like you to be able to use such great magic."
My face blushed slightly and said, "Not really, my magic isn't something that great."
He continued, "Not really, it's rare for people to have elemental magic. So, will you take this grimoire for me?"
I nodded slightly and accepted his gift, "Okay, thank you, uncle."
I walked away from the shop and realized that I was separated from Big Sister Wave and Lunette. I guess I got lost again as usual. Did they realize that I was left behind? Or maybe they were looking for me? Whatever it is, I should meet up with them soon.
I kept looking here and there while observing my surroundings. Time kept passing, but I didn't find them at all. When I reached the park, I heard a voice and immediately walked towards the source of the voice. There was a group of students who seemed to be surrounding a student from another school. What did they want to do?
The uniforms were a group of six Redione Academy students, but there were four people who had exactly the same body characteristics. They were surrounding a student in a red uniform. The uniform was Lionel Academy.
One of the Redione Academy students said to him, "Do you think we will forgive what you did to our friend?"
The Lionel Academy student answered him calmly, "I don't need your forgiveness, I'll be back, get out of my way."
"There's no way I would do that, right," asked a different student to the other student.
What did they want to do? It might be a little dangerous. They immediately prepared to do something, positioning themselves as if they were going to fight.
The student from Lionel Academy sighed and said, "You guys are people who don't know when to give up."
I immediately ran towards them and tried to stop them.
One of the Redione Academy students asked me, "Who are you? What's your relationship with him?"
I just answered hesitantly, "I don't know him, just a stranger."
That's right, why would I help him? I don't even know him. Whatever they do has nothing to do with me. However, why am I standing next to him?
The Lionel Academy student said to me, "I don't need your help, go away."
I guess I was trapped by my own actions. I made a mistake.
They immediately charged at us and attacked us, instantly starting a student fight between us. Two people from the Redione Academy charged towards me and started their attack. I guess they saw that the Lionel Academy student was more dangerous than me. It couldn't be helped, I didn't intend to fight from the start anyway.
They attacked me using their magic. One of them used ash magic. I didn't know what would happen, but I didn't want to touch him. Meanwhile, the fellow next to him attacked me with a close-range attack. He moved very fast. Honestly, I had a hard time seeing him.
I tried my best to dodge and defend. This fight happened suddenly, and I don't know why it happened. I tried to avoid their attacks, but it was very difficult. Their attacks were very well coordinated and their cooperation was very good. Just dodging was all I could do.
I tried to minimize the impact of my attacks. First, I accidentally kicked one of the people from Redione Academy in the face. In fact, I only intended to push him a little and freeze him to limit his movement.
"S-sorry, I didn't mean to," I said with a little regret.
Strangely, the person just lay on the floor before fading little by little. I was surprised by this, especially since there were four people who had exactly the same body characteristics, which was strange in my opinion. The person disappeared without a trace, then his other friend attacked me from behind.
I immediately dodged and shot a small arrow with my ice magic to limit his movement. He could be said to be quite skilled at dodging it, especially since he was also a long-range attacker. I got involved in a gunfight with him.
We ran quickly while shooting magic at each other. We tried our best to shoot and dodge at the same time. It was certainly quite difficult, especially when fighting someone of equal standing. We circled around in one place while running and using everything around us for hiding or defense. Of course, we didn't go for each other's lives, but the atmosphere here was heavy enough for a normal fight. I finally managed to shoot and freeze his leg with my magic, although he managed to hit my right thigh. Victory for me, I'm sure Sister Wave will be proud of me.
He said to me, "Why are you defending him?"
I just said, "It's not that I'm defending him, but I just feel that it's unfair for you to fight one person against six people. Maybe?"
He replied again, "You don't know anything. Even though it was a competition, he went too far in hurting our friend."
What did he mean? Did I make a mistake? Maybe I was wrong in helping people.
"You'll know once you meet him again. Gyrus from Lionel Academy. He's a cold-hearted person," he said to me.
As soon as I turned to Gyrus, all of his friends were slaughtered. From the original four people, now only two were left. Maybe the four people who had the same characteristics were the magic of one of the students from Redione Academy. They were lying on the floor and breathing heavily. They looked very battered.
I walked over to Gyrus and asked, "There was no need to beat them up like that, right?"
Gyrus turned to me and said, "They challenged me, it was their risk."
I slowly walked towards him, but he aimed his fist at me.
"What do you mean?" I asked Gyrus.
He simply replied, "I don't need your help, now fight me."
He immediately wrapped his fist in his magic and charged towards me. His eyes changed, of course because of his magic, but his gaze also became sharper as if he recognized me as his enemy.
I quickly jumped back to avoid him and said, "Wait! I don't want to fight!"
He said to me, "So naive!"
He continued his attack on me. I kept dodging his attacks. Probably because of my light body, I could move faster than him. Even so, he was fast enough to overwhelm me. When he missed and hit the ground, the ground immediately cratered. I wasn't sure if I could survive his punch.
"I don't want to fight," I told him.
He then replied, "Then stay where you are and let me kill you."
No good, it looks like I helped the wrong person. I kept dodging here and there. I wrapped my legs in my ice magic to help me run and block as much as possible, or more accurately, change the direction of his attacks. Big Sister Wave taught me that if the enemy is too strong we should change the direction of his attacks as much as possible.
Gyrus continued to attack me like a madman. His gaze was very cold, plus his red jacket made him look even more terrifying. Why is there a student like him in the academy?
I tripped and fell, opening an opening for him to attack me. Bad, my life was over. However, fate saved my life. The bell rang, indicating that the festival would resume and continue its event. His fist stopped right in front of my eyes and almost hit my nose. His magic didn't seem to be for attacking, but... For defense? A very common barrier magic in society.
He said to me, "You're safe this time, you weakling."
He turned around and quickly left my sight. What's wrong with him? I don't understand people like him. I immediately stood up and tidied up my clothes before going to the festival venue.
In the middle of the journey, someone immediately hugged me tightly from behind and said in an almost crying tone, "Luna! Where have you been?! I was worried about you, you know!"
I was very surprised and immediately looked back. It turned out to be Big Sister Wave in disguise. It seemed like he was trying not to attract more attention.
Big Sister Wave snapped at me a little worriedly, "Luna! Don't just stay silent and say something!"
I could only answer in a slightly guilty tone while keeping my gaze locked on the floor, "S-sorry."
Her voice sounded very serious. This was the second time he had scolded me. Usually he scolded Lunette for her actions, but now I was being scolded by him too. As much as possible I didn't want to be scolded by Big Sister Wave because he was scary when he was angry.
Unexpectedly, Big Sister Wave held my hand and said, "Don't do that again, okay?"
I nodded slightly and said, "Yes, big sis."
Then, she showed me the way to the festival venue and made sure I stayed by her side.
Lunette whispered to me and smiled, "In the end we ended up the same, getting scolded by Big Sister Wave."
I just replied, "Don't compare me to you who intentionally made her angry."
She replied again, "Do you think I intentionally made her angry?"
I asked her again, "Am I wrong?"
She just chuckled and said, "Not entirely wrong."
We soon arrived at the entrance to where the festival was continuing. We stood silently at the entrance without anyone speaking. The atmosphere here was very quiet and awkward. I didn't dare to speak, especially after Big Sister Wave scolded me. She tried to start a conversation, but because it was too awkward she couldn't get her words out.
Lunette started talking casually, "What's wrong with you guys? The atmosphere here is very heavy."
Big Sister Wave just laughed awkwardly, while I was still silent. Lunette said to her, "You better go to the audience now before it's full."
Big Sister Wave nodded slightly and said, "Alright, take care of yourselves."
Lunette nodded and my eyes were still locked on the floor. I was still too awkward to look at her. I knew that Big Sister Wave was scolding me for my own good, but I was too shocked to accept it.
She said to me, "Luna…"
I tried to look at her face, but before I saw her face I was shocked. She hugged me tightly as if she was hugging her most precious treasure. I couldn't hold back my tears and started sobbing.
Lunette said to us, "Luna has always been a crybaby from the start."
Big Sister Wave looked at Lunette with a small smile as she said, "You're right, Luna is indeed a crybaby."
Finally we parted ways, Lunette and I headed to the arena, while Big Sis Wave went to the audience seats. We prepared for the next match. Honestly, I was still thinking about Gyrus in the park.
