Chapter Thirty-Nine: That Damned Door!
Isabelle finished the last bite of her dinner, wiped her mouth quietly with the napkin, and stood up from the dining table.
She didn't bother with Reign or Maxx again. They were busy, arguing in low voices and pretending not to care.
She definitely didn't care.
'Men and their secrets,' she thought. 'Let them play their little games.'
All she wanted now was to check on the twins. The babies were the only reason she kept going every single day. They made everything make sense.
She walked through the quiet hallway, the nursery door was cracked open. As she reached it, she paused.
A tiny voice echoed in her mind.
'Do you think Belle is mad at us?' That was Aurora.
'No. But she didn't laugh today.' Aron waa pouting.
Isabelle leaned against the doorframe, heart softening. They were wide awake. She didn't need to go inside just hearing their voices gave her peace.
She smiled quietly, pressing her palm to the doorframe.
