Chapter 8: Golden Brilliance.... Lost(3)
" King?" Sol said calmly, his voice dripping with silent rage.
" You call a consort, king? Did you forget about my father? My mother?! Are you all ready to die for that man?!" Sol roared in anger, as he took a step forward, causing the armoured knights to do the opposite and take a step backwards.
Even if Sol was unawakened, he still had an imposing aura. And what he said wasn't groundless. They had sided with the Consort, creating something akin to a rebellion.
But had they forgotten about the King and queen? Two of the most powerful beings in the world?
No!
Of course not!
Only a fool would do so!
They had a consort who was only one vein rank below the king and queen, and the best part, he was backed by the god of the kingdom... Alzuras!
" Tsk! Tsk! Tsk! Your highness, it seems your time in politics class was a waste. Do you truly think we forgot about your dear parents? Of course not. In a few minutes, they would probably be dead,, and you shall join them," Henry said, picking up a goblet of wine and taking a slow, refreshing sip.
Boom!
It was like someone had thrown an attack on his head," l- liar! Liar! There's no way you can kill my parents! They're the strongest! No one can beat them!"
Hahahahah!!!
Everyone in the hall all began laughing hysterically, almsot as of try had just heard the biggest joke of their life.
" No one can beat them you say?" Henry placed the goblet back onto the table, as he took a grape and threw it in his mouth.
" Solarien. You're so young and naive. Did you think that no one can actually defeat your parents? Well, actually.... you're right. No human or beast can do that....but what about a god?!"
" Impossible!" Sol yelled, taking a step back as his pupils contracted. Impossible! There's no way that's true.
" But it isn't so impossible. You see, even gods can be prone to greed. And your parents went out to get something that a god would kill millions for. What do you think would happen to them? Leave safely? What a naive child," a mocking look flashed in Henry's eyes, as he signalled for the guards to surround the boy.
Without knowing how, the guards surrounded him, blocking all exits and making his fear to seethe in deeper in his heart.
" My father treated you as a brother! He treated Alzuras as a father! You are both his family and you stab him in the back?!"
" SHUT UP! KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT!!!" Henry flew into an fit of rage as he heard Sol's remarks.
" I wasn't his brother, but a shadow that follows him everywhere, a dog. I was a servant blocked by his glory and achievement! But shadows grow, especially the ones that are ignored by the light of the arrogant sun. Especially the ones that have been turned a blind eye to. I am a shadow that will regain my right to the light!!! MY GLORY!!!" He said, his expression turning crazed as Mana began to distort around him, causing Sol and the guards to take a step back.
" Everyone can live, even your mother, but you and your father? You will die! As I kill you, Alzuras shall kill him!" A sphere of chilling ice formed in Henry's hand—cold enough to freeze the heart of a volcano—and he hurled it!
" Arggg!" Sol exclaimed, but then at the last second, the moment he was about to be consumed by the attack, a hand pulled him away just a second before he was hit!
" We need to leave!" A voice gentle but urgent flew into his ears, causing him to open his eyes.
And there she was, the only soul untainted from the complications of power.
The only soul who has and would stand by him no matter what. The one who he had denied of trust due to trust on the enemy.
" Lora, I'm sorry," he said, tears falling from his eyes as he ran.
" Forget about that right now your highness. We need to leave!" She said, as she pulled a picture frame off the wall of the dining hall and revealed a passageway for them to escape through.
Immediately, they jumped in.
" Stop standing there and go get them! Kill them!!" Henry said, as he saw the guards let Sol and Lora run away into the secret passageway in the walls.
" Don't let them reach the exits! I want the prince's body cold before dawn!"!" Tyr exclaimed, as some of them jumped into the passageway, while the remaining others went to check out for potential exit that they might come out from.
Seeing this, Henry's anger peaked, " I want the head of a soldier for every hour lost before finding the prince! "

Inside the tunnel, Sol and Lora rushed through the passageways in order to escape. They looked like two mice being chased by a cat so as to preserve their life.
" I told you! I told you to follow me! If we had left earlier we wouldn't be in so much danger!" Lora exclaimed, expressing her frusturation as she navigated through the maze like passageway.
But luckily enough, she had been in these passageways for as long as she could remember. One could even called it her secret home.
" I'm sorry. I didn't know. I thought you were making excuses for us to elope. It was my fault! I am and will always be a fool!" Sol said, slapping himself and causing blood to unceasingly flow from his mouth
It was at this moment that Lora had stopped to turn and look at Sol," it's not your fault Sol. You trusted him, and he betrayed your trust. It wasn't your fault, it was the fault of the human heart," Lora said, trying to comfort him.
" Yes! It was my fault. I had trusted him blindly. I had been a fool! Now he's going to try to kill you along with me. I can't believe I even dragged you into this!" Sol felt like his heart was breaking, as he lightly touched his chest.
" Sol lis-"
Boom!
Before she could even say a thing, they suddenly heard the sound of armour and leather.
The guards were coming.
" Sol please get up! They're coming for us!"
