Chapter 12 - The Whisper (2)

"Do you want to see them all burn? Even a god?" The voice wasn't loud, nor was it low. It was just right and heavy.

Heavy enough to strike a chord in his heart.

" Who's there?!" He exclaimed, turning to look around him, but all he saw was rows and rows of endless trees.

" It seems now I've begun to go crazy," he said, a hint of self mockery in his voice as he shook his head.

" Maybe I do deserve to die," he thought, as he kept on walking away.

Everything was gone already. His life, his love, his parents, and even his smile. They had all vanished in one night, and the worst of it all, he could do nothing about it.

He could only stand as he watched the death of his loved ones, not daring to move an inch as he was too afraid of death.

What a coward.

" I do deserve to die," he fell back to the ground, tears falling from his eyes as he ran his hands through his hair.

Death was the only choice now. Living would just make the pain worse.

" Do you really want to die? Do you really want their sacrifices to go to waste? She didn't save you with her life so you can go back a few hours later and walk towards death....or did she?"

And there it was again, the voice. The same voice from a few minutes ago. And this time it was back. More heavier, more angrier.

" Who are you?" Sol said softly. He didn't think of moving anymore. He had no strength. He had no will. Moving was just another act to something he wasn't ready to face. So why try.

" Someone who can help you. I am one who everyone feared. The one the gods had chosen to hide and chain away due to fear. I am...Nas-Khural!"

Suddenly, magical lights began flowing from the ground, as a strange magic circle appeared below his feet.

The ground shook as the leaves fluttered violently.

It was like the awakening of something. Something no one was ready to face.

And....

Boom!

And explosion of energy occurred, drowning Sol into the endless river of surging power.

The ground cracked and the earth blew open, as Sol fell deeper and deeper into the newly formed pit.

•••••

Boom!

He landed right on his feet, almost as if his body had been controlled by a strange force so as to not get injured.

" Damn it! Why do I have to keep suffering like this!" He demanded, almost as if raging towards the sky above the pit in endless rage.

Now he was stuck inside of this strange underground tunnel, and he had no way to get out.

" What am I going to do now?" He asked himself, his heart falling deeper into the depression surrounding him.

But then the voice came again.

" You keep moving forward,"

" You don't cry when you fall,"

" You don't die when you face difficulties,"

" You wait. You wait for the time to rise back up and destroy all obstacles in your way. So keep moving forward!" The voice commanded, and almsot as if being guided by and invisible force, he took a step. Then another, and another.

He soon found himself walking forward. Going deeper and deeper into this unknown dark tunnel that he had fallen so deep into.

As he kept on moving, he started to feel like something was calling him. A feeling strange, yet familiar. He couldn't quite put his finger on it.

But wherever he was going....he knew it was not going to be good.

Soon, after walking for about ten minutes, he arrived right in front of a towering door, and that's when he stopped breathing.

The door had markings of a kind of great war. He could see phoenix and dragons, beast and monsters. Great powers colliding like they could tear the Earth into pieces.

At the center of the door was a man. He looked average and calm, his eyes holding nothing but deep, unshakable will.

He looked like a little and tiny person at the center of all those powers and beast.

That's when he saw it. Behind the man stood thirteen other people.Thirteen stood behind him. Some wore crowns. Some masks. One held a broken hourglass. All of them—traitors

But one of them in particular made his blood boil in rage and helplessness.

It was.... Alzuras. He was standing behind that ordinary looking man looking like a docile pet towards it's master.

" Alzuras is someone else's... Servant?" It sounded like a joke. A mockery of heaven and Earth.

The almighty God that was revered not just by humans, but mortals on a whole. Even dragons, prideful beast of nature had to be respectful to him.

For he wasn't just strong, he was one of the three strongest amongst the other twelve Gods.

But if such a terrifying being could stand behind an ordinary man looking like a slave, then doesn't that mean that the man.... Wasn't so ordinary after all.

" Are you shocked? Suprised to see that the God you saw as a being of Grace and heavenly status is nothing but a worm in front of me, " the voice said.

Normally, he was getting used to the voice suddenly popping out of nowhere and whispering to him, but now, with the last words if this mysterious voice, his heart began to beat again.

Not in fear. Not in shock.

But in excitement.

This was his hope.

" Th... This is you?" Sol asked once more, pointing his fingers at the man on the door.

" Yes, this was me. Nas-Khural. The king of all gods..... Till they betrayed me and locked me up for eternity, " that time, his words carried a hint of sorrow and regret, almost as if he still felt the pain of the betrayal.

Solarien's heart went cold as he heard this," it seems the gods don't just betray the mortals, but their own kind," he clenched his fist tightly.

How could he have once worshipped such selfish entities. They were nothing more than gods with the flaws of the human heart.

They were not divine, they were not omnipotent. But selfish creatures in search of power they do not deserve.

" So what do you want from me. How can someone like me, a forgotten heir help you?" He wasn't stupid. So what if they were selfish and greedy, they had the strength and power to act that way.

Even their king had fallen in their hands. This alone showed that they were not weak.

" You can help. You can help in so many ways. But for the first step....you have to push open the door,"
