Nina curled her hand around her tummy, sitting on her bed with her head fixated on the floor. Her facial expression gloomy.
She was so buried in her emotions that she did not notice when Kiara opened the door and walked in. She was literally standing in front of her, but Nina didn't see her because her gaze was downcast.
"Nina, why do you take every issue to heart?"
Nina jolted with shock upon hearing that. She felt her heart sink into her stomach because she never thought someone was with her in the room. She didn't even know when Kiara entered, so she was freaked out when she heard the voice.
"I'm surprised to see you gloomy just because of a little argument with Jada. You should overcome this, for goodness sake, Nina. You've been two years and counting without Marcus in your life, and you're still alive and doing better, so why do you always feel like you're missing out?"
Nina sighed heavily. "It's not that, Jada." She paused, her lips clenched.
