"The Sovereign Art of the Undying Great Sun Body is called the Power of Nine Suns. From the looks of it, Lu Heng seems to have pushed this Sovereign Body to its absolute limits." Mandala's expression was grim. In her view, the simultaneous eruption of all nine suns possessed might enough to rival some of the most formidable super techniques.
"The Sovereign Art of the Undying Great Sun Body... is nine suns really the limit?" Xiao Yan gazed intently at Lu Heng's Undying Great Sun Body, especially that black sun suspended behind his head. He couldn't help but feel something strange and asked softly.
"What else would it be? Don't tell me you think there's a tenth sun?" Mandala gave Xiao Yan a puzzled glance, not quite understanding why he'd ask such a thing.
"Nothing." Xiao Yan's eyes flickered, and he chose not to elaborate further. At his side, Qing Tan smoothly picked up the thread and asked, "You seem to know a lot about the Undying Great Sun Body. Have you cultivated it yourself?"
Hearing that, Xiao Yan also looked curiously at Mandala. Although she had mentioned some past grievances between her and Lu Heng, and investigating him wasn't strange, her understanding of this Sovereign Body was far too detailed—more than what mere intelligence-gathering could explain.
"No, it's just... I've seen someone cultivate it before." Mandala paused briefly and didn't dwell on the topic. "Though the Undying Great Sun Body is powerful, that Ice God Body isn't ordinary either. Its Sovereign Art must also be incredibly strong."
The elder from the Ice Spirit Clan stared at the black vortex in the sky. His aged face was drawn with tension. Even he felt a serious threat from a Sovereign Art of this caliber. However, things had come this far; retreating was no longer an option. Taking a deep breath, he began channeling his own Sovereign Art.
"Sovereign Art: Ice Nether Dragon!" A strange white mist rose from his Sovereign Body, quickly gathering in the sky. The cold energy churned and morphed into a colossal dragon of frost spanning tens of thousands of feet, coiled high above the Sacred Demon Palace.
This massive Ice Dragon was just as enormous as the Ice God Body itself. Within its enormous eyes flickered cold glints of light. What shocked people most was the majestic pressure it exuded—this dragon actually radiated true draconic might!
"This Ice God Body was created tens of thousands of years ago by an ancestor of the Ice Spirit Clan. That Ice Nether Dragon was his personal mount. To think this Sovereign Body could summon it forth. Although with this old man's power, the summoned dragon is barely a tenth as strong as the original, it's still more than enough to deal with most Earth Sovereigns."
Mandala couldn't help but sigh with admiration. Clearly, she had some knowledge of the Ice Nether Dragon summoned by the Ice God Body. Even she hadn't expected the ancestor of the Ice Spirit Clan to possess such transcendent means. If this elder's strength were on par with that ancestor, he might even be able to summon the real Ice Nether Dragon.
"Roar!" The Ice Nether Dragon let out an ear-splitting roar that shook the sky, its massive body shooting toward Lu Heng like a comet. Wherever it passed, a horrifying cold erupted violently. The frigid wave it unleashed froze the surrounding space, and this was merely from the dragon's residual pressure.
"Hmph! Nine Sun Devil Abyss, devour it!" Lu Heng bellowed as well. The Undying Great Sun Body under his control raised its palm, and the black vortex expanded rapidly, swelling to the same size as the Ice Dragon. A terrifying gravitational force burst from within, attempting to swallow the icy behemoth whole.
Though the Ice God Body was immensely powerful, Lu Heng had immense confidence in his own Sovereign Body. He refused to believe that the Nine Sun Sovereign Art—unleashing the full might of the Undying Great Sun Body—would lose to some elder's summoned Ice Nether Dragon.
The moment the black vortex and the Ice Dragon collided, a devastating energy storm erupted and spread outwards. The level of destruction caused by this clash was already comparable to that of a super technique, showing just how terrifying the Sovereign Arts of both sides were.
Xiao Yan looked at the sweeping energy storm and further reinforced the protective barrier he had set up. Though his own strength was only that of a Lower Earth Sovereign, his spiritual energy, enhanced by the Nine Revolutions Green Lotus, surpassed even some Upper Earth Sovereigns. Otherwise, there'd be no way for him to observe this battle up close.
"Who do you think will win between the two of them?" Mandala asked while popping sunflower seeds, her tone casual. Though she hadn't reached Upper Earth Sovereign herself, she could clearly see that the clash between the two had reached a life-and-death level. However, since the gap between them wasn't that large, she wasn't certain who would emerge victorious.
"I'm guessing they'll both be seriously injured." Xiao Yan answered calmly.
"Is that even possible?" Mandala frowned. Though she did hope both of them would fall, giving them the chance to reap the rewards, she didn't think reality would be so conveniently ideal.
"How about we make a bet?" Xiao Yan smiled faintly.
"What kind of bet?" Mandala eyed him warily. After spending this much time with him, she had completely abandoned the notion that this young man was as simple as he appeared. If she truly provoked him, she might not even know how she died. The current deathmatch in the sky was the best proof of that.
"We bet on whether or not both sides will suffer heavy losses." Xiao Yan's lips curved into a slight smirk as he said, "If I'm right, and they both end up grievously wounded, then the one-year period you promised me before gets extended to ten years. If not, then the previous agreement is nullified. How about it?"
"Fine. Deal." Mandala thought it over carefully, then finally agreed. She knew well that someone with Xiao Yan's temperament wouldn't propose such a wager unless he had some certainty of winning. But she simply couldn't figure out how Xiao Yan could make both sides end up in mutual destruction. Could he really be leaving it to chance? She didn't believe that someone as cunning as him would put faith in mere luck.
