Selina blocked Tony Stark's knee strike with both hands, then launched a scorpion kick that landed on his head, forcing him to retreat and create distance.
Wiping blood from the corner of her mouth, Selina fixed her gaze on the crack in Tony's chest plate—it was now wide enough to expose the inner structure. She believed that just one more solid hit could break it entirely and win her the final.
Meanwhile, thanks to J.A.R.V.I.S.' warning, Tony knew he was in danger. His suit could fail at any moment, so he didn't dare hold back and charged straight at Selina.
The two clashed once again. With J.A.R.V.I.S.' support, Tony unleashed a relentless barrage—repulsor blasts, palm lasers, chest beam—attacking as if energy cost nothing.
At this stage, prolonging the battle wouldn't benefit Tony at all.
Selina had no chance to use her high-frequency strikes. Her normal attacks barely dented the suit, and she had to constantly dodge the more powerful blasts.
Repulsors weren't a major threat to her, thanks to her insane regeneration. But the charged laser and chest beam? She couldn't afford to take those head-on.
The stage beneath their feet was gradually shattered by Tony's beams, leaving barely a single intact stone.
At one point, Selina even considered using her speed to knock Tony off the stage and win that way. But every time she tried to charge in, Tony's chest would light up with a ready-to-fire beam. She knew: if she struck first, she might take him down, but it would cost her life in the process.
With that in mind, Selina was forced to keep her distance and fight cautiously.
Tony, under J.A.R.V.I.S.' control, kept pressing the attack. It felt great to have the upper hand.
But there was one glaring issue—his arc reactor's energy was draining fast.
"Sir, continuing this assault will reduce our chance of victory as energy decreases."
Tony understood the problem. But with his ammo long gone, he had no other options.
And so the battle dragged on. Selina got the closest to victory when she nearly landed a surprise attack—only to almost take a chest beam to the face. She narrowly escaped death.
Then, as they pulled apart again and Selina prepared to charge in for another round, Tony suddenly stopped attacking and lifted his faceplate.
"Selina, what's your wish?"
Surprised by the sudden question—and the fact that he even opened his helmet—Selina didn't use her speed to strike. Instead, she stopped and answered sincerely:
"My people long for sunlight. But it's always been our greatest weakness."
"I want to eliminate this fatal flaw from our kind—so we no longer have to live only in darkness, but can walk under the sun like anyone else."
Tony shrugged.
"A noble girl, doing it for her people. Respect."
"After this is over, I'd love to share a drink with you."
"Everyone knows I'm a billionaire, a genius inventor, and Iron Man who saves the world. Obviously, I don't have any wishes that need magical help."
"So let me help you instead—to change the fate of your kind."
"Smith, I forfeit."
With that, Tony turned and walked toward the edge of the stage.
Then he jumped off.
For a moment, everyone in the audience was stunned—then the applause erupted.
Xu Shang looked at Tony's figure and asked:
"Xia Ling, if we'd made it to the final and told him our wish was to resurrect our mom, do you think he would've given us the wish too?"
Xu Xia Ling rolled her eyes and snapped:
"Idiot!"
On the stage, Smith Dole stepped forward. Selina was clearly in bad shape—bruised, cut up, and even her powerful regeneration was lagging. The long duel had taken its toll. Though she hadn't been directly hit by lasers, she'd taken plenty of glancing blows and repulsors. Her combat suit was in tatters.
Smith Dole took Selina's arm and announced:
"The champion of the first Dragon Ball Tournament is Selina!"
"Let's all give her a round of applause!"
Clap clap clap!
The crowd erupted in celebration. The tournament had finally come to its thrilling conclusion.
Back in the shaded tent, the vampires were overjoyed. For the first time, they had a real chance to change their racial weakness. Soon, they would walk in the daylight like normal humans.
As for Tony's gesture, Selina was initially deeply grateful. But as she watched him walk off the stage instead of flying away—and remembered that flashy landing at the start—she knew: Tony hadn't given her the win. He was out of energy.
Still, she accepted his gesture with appreciation and gave him a grateful look.
Tony walked slowly, step by step, back to Pepper Potts and Happy.
Happy greeted him, confused:
"Boss, I didn't expect you to be so compassionate. No wonder you're Iron Man."
"By the way, why didn't you fly back? I thought you'd make a cool return."
Tony shot him a glare and said nothing.
If he still had energy, would he have forfeited?
If he still had energy, would he be walking back?
The truth was, full-power combat had drained the suit faster than expected. Against a speed-type opponent, relying on repulsors and chest beams alone was just too inefficient.
"J.A.R.V.I.S., open the suit."
At his command, J.A.R.V.I.S. used the last bit of power to release the armor.
Tony stepped out. Now, his arc reactor could barely keep the shrapnel in his body from reaching his heart—it certainly couldn't power the suit anymore.
After announcing Selina's victory, Smith Dole addressed the crowd:
"The first Dragon Ball Tournament has officially concluded. Staff will escort contestants and audience members off the island shortly."
"You may inform them of the city you'd like to return to. If there are no special requests, you'll be returned to your original pickup point."
"The winner and their guests may stay."
"The runner-up is allowed to observe the final wish and may remain with their entourage."
Though many wished to stay and witness the final wish, none dared oppose the rules. Everyone followed the staff to board planes and depart the island.
