And so, with Shirou Emiya's promise given, Ritsuka Fujimaru and Mash, along with their two companions, left Uruk and set out toward the city of Ur.

"So, I'm left alone again?"

Standing in the now-empty tavern, Shirou Emiya scratched his head, looking mildly troubled. After a brief pause, he settled on his next plan.

"Hm. I'll head to the wall. Or rather, the Absolute Demonic Frontline, and stay there for a while."

Once the decision was made, he acted immediately. Shirou Emiya left a letter on the tavern table for Siduri-the priestess who might come by later-then stepped out into the street and rose straight into the sky.

Unlike before, there was no need for him to temper the Unique Mystic Code on his back anymore. He wouldn't fall into a weakened state this time.

More importantly, as a crafting mentor, he had already passed on everything the other craftsmen needed to know. Based on their current techniques, they had already reached their limit. Further improvement would require learning entirely new methods, and that would take a long time.

Time they clearly didn't have.

The situation in Uruk was far too urgent for that.

Because of this, there was no longer any reason for Shirou Emiya to remain behind for forging matters.

On top of that, Gilgamesh had never assigned him any specific duties in the first place. Shirou Emiya was, for all intents and purposes, completely unconstrained. Relaxed, even.

So even if he suddenly decided to head to the Demonic Beast Frontline, no one would stop him.

With the support of flight magic, Shirou Emiya accelerated, flying swiftly toward the distant frontline.

As for why he didn't use the Vimana-

To be honest, within Uruk's territory, Shirou Emiya had no intention of using Noble Phantasms projected from Gilgamesh's Gate of Babylon.

After all, the other party was temporarily his boss.

Toward one's superior, a minimum level of respect was necessary.

For example, not casually using the Chains of Heaven.

Those chains were, after all, the so-called "token of love" between Gilgamesh and Enkidu. Or, more accurately, Enkidu's true body.

Using them in front of Gilgamesh would be no different from directly NTR-ing him.

As for Kingu, he was a newly born will inhabiting Enkidu's body. Gilgamesh naturally wouldn't hold that against him. Later on, the two even became close allies.

That alone spoke volumes about Enkidu's importance in Gilgamesh's heart.

Actually, if Shirou Emiya's authority hadn't been sealed, he could have simply used the Sun Chariot to travel.

But unfortunately.

That wasn't an option right now.

...

"The Absolute Demonic Frontline."

"No matter how many times I see it, it's still astonishing."

Hovering high in the air, Shirou Emiya looked down at the massive defensive wall below and the seemingly endless monsters surging beyond it. He couldn't help but let out a quiet sigh.

From this vantage point, the structure truly resembled a Great Wall.

Magnificent.

Especially when it existed for the sole purpose of resisting an overwhelming enemy. The sight alone carried a sense of weight that stirred something in the chest.

After a moment of silent admiration, Shirou Emiya quickly spotted two familiar presences.

Rimuru.

And Shuna.

Shuna was stationed behind the frontline, continuously casting healing magic as she treated the wounded soldiers. At the same time, Shirou Emiya could sense layers of enhancement-type spells resting on the warriors still fighting.

Those spells were all hers.

As for little Rimuru-

She wasn't standing obediently atop the city wall, calmly firing arrows.

Instead, her entire body was wreathed in flames as she charged back and forth through the monster horde, cutting a blazing path through them.

"...Is she training?"

Understanding Rimuru's intentions almost instantly, Shirou Emiya smiled faintly. He adjusted his trajectory and descended toward Shuna's position.

Before he even touched down, soldiers on the ground had already noticed him.

They recognized him at once.

"Lord Shirou!"

Hearing the call from those around her, Shuna looked up. The moment she saw him descending from the sky, her face lit up, and she waved excitedly.

"Are you alright, Shuna?"

"Yes, I'm fine!"

As Shirou Emiya landed, Shuna looked at him with eyes full of undisguised affection. Though they had been communicating through telepathy recently, they hadn't actually met in person.

That distance still mattered.

All the longing that had accumulated over the past month spilled out the moment she saw him.

"Lord Shirou-"

"The monster tide is coming!"

Before Shuna could say anything more, an urgent shout echoed from the frontline.

Shirou Emiya's expression sharpened.

"We can talk later. Let's head to the city wall first."

"Yes!"

Without wasting another second, Shirou Emiya led Shuna toward the top of the wall.

The moment they reached it, the view opened up.

What lay before them was a boundless sea of monsters.

Compared to earlier battles, their numbers were overwhelming.

Tens of times greater.

"This is...?"

"This is a monster tide."

Hearing Shirou Emiya's question, Shuna immediately began explaining the situation at the Demonic Beast Frontline.

"The monsters attack the wall without stopping. They don't give us time to rest. It's meant to force us into a war of attrition."

"But that's just the normal state."

"There's a commander among them, isn't there?"

"Yes."

"Every once in a while, the monsters gather in massive numbers and launch a large-scale assault. When that happens, their numbers increase by tens of times compared to usual."

"That's what we call a monster tide."

"I see."

Shirou Emiya nodded lightly.

The tactic itself was familiar.

This was no different from human siege warfare.

In ancient battles, when an attacking army vastly outnumbered a defending force, commanders would often divide their troops. They would harass the city continuously, never allowing the defenders to recover.

Morale would erode.

Strength would be worn down.

At the same time, elite units would be hidden nearby. Once an opening appeared, they would launch a decisive assault and break through the defenses in one blow.

"It's a method used when the attacker has a massive numerical advantage."

"And right now," Shirou Emiya said calmly, "the monsters fit that condition perfectly."

"Their numbers far exceed ours."

"That's correct."

A sudden voice interrupted his thoughts.

Shirou Emiya turned.

Ushiwakamaru stood behind him, her expression composed as ever. Beside her were Musashibou Benkei and Leonidas I.

"It's you, Ushiwakamaru."

"Indeed! Sir Emiya, I arrived a bit earlier than you!"

"That makes sense. You set out this morning."

Earlier, Ritsuka Fujimaru had mentioned that Ushiwakamaru would be leading troops to the frontline. They were supposed to have met outside the Divine Tower.

"So," Shirou Emiya said, "I came at just the right time."

"Of course you did!"

Leonidas I laughed heartily and slapped Shirou Emiya on the shoulder.

"The weapons you modified earlier have been a huge help! Every soldier here is grateful to you!"

"That's simply my duty as a craftsman."

Shirou Emiya smiled faintly.

"There's nothing special about it."

His gaze shifted back toward the endless monsters surging beyond the wall.

"Now-"

"Let's focus on the monsters."
