----------------------------------------------------------
On a desolate plain, a brilliant light flashed and vanished.
When the radiance faded, only a red-haired young man remained.
"Is this the new world?"
Under an azure sky stretched a vast wilderness, empty of any signs of civilization. Having arrived in another world, Shirou Emiya immediately began to scout the surroundings. He raised his hand, and numerous flying creatures-his familiars-shot off in all directions.
"This way, I should find traces of humanity soon. Then I can decide where to go."
After settling his plan, Shirou Emiya chose a random rock and sat down, waiting calmly for information to return from his familiars.
However, as he relaxed, his brow furrowed.
"The magical energy activity in this era is... a bit exaggerated."
He could feel it clearly. The mana in the air was thick, active, almost restless. Shirou Emiya couldn't help but sigh. In his memory, the only other world he had experienced with such intense magical energy was the DanMachi world.
And that world had been special.
That era was one in which gods and humans coexisted. Even though the gods there had sealed their powers, their existence itself was undeniable. Compared to that, the magical energy activity in this world was almost on par.
That fact alone was enough to say something.
"This is probably an era where gods and humans coexist."
Using a familiar term, Shirou Emiya quietly labeled it.
"The Age of Gods, huh."
With that conclusion, he immediately dismissed the idea of releasing Shuna and Little Rimuru, who were currently within Tempest. In an era like this, danger could come from anywhere. Before confirming the nature of this world and locating a truly safe place, it was better to keep them where they were.
For this journey between worlds, Shirou Emiya had still brought Shuna and Little Rimuru along.
He had not brought Erica or Liliana.
That wasn't because he had abandoned them.
They simply had other responsibilities.
Shirou Emiya would eventually return to the Godslayer world to deal with the Last King. Because of that, the arrangements he had made there could not be casually discarded. While he had been searching the world for traces of Hephaestus, countless magic societies across Europe had already sworn allegiance to him.
If others had come to pledge loyalty, then Shirou Emiya naturally had to protect them.
Leaving Erica and Liliana behind to continue maintaining his authority would make sure that other Godslayers could not easily guess that he had already left that world. After all, Erica and Liliana still carried Shirou Emiya's blessing.
And before departing, Shirou Emiya had even gone out of his way to seek Marquis Voban for a fight.
All to ensure that Voban wouldn't turn his attention toward Erica and Liliana and cause trouble in Shirou Emiya's absence.
With those thoughts settled, Shirou Emiya leaned back slightly.
Then, suddenly, he froze.
"But... what's going on?"
He stood up at once, looking down at his own body.
From the moment he arrived in this world, Shirou Emiya had felt an unusual sense of exhilaration. At first, he thought it was simply because he had entered the Age of Gods again. Or perhaps because of some resonance from returning to a world closer to the Nasuverse.
But as time passed, that feeling didn't fade.
Instead, it became clearer.
Stronger.
Shirou Emiya could feel it unmistakably.
His physical abilities were increasing.
Constantly.
"What exactly happened?"
A trace of tension surfaced. Worried about the possibility of an ambush, Shirou Emiya immediately summoned his Divine Blessing panel. The familiar interface appeared before his eyes.
And what he saw made his expression stiffen.
"My basic ability values... are increasing?"
The numbers were changing.
In real time.
Strength, Endurance, Dexterity, Agility, Magical Energy.
The five basic ability values were rising little by little, without stopping.
Shirou Emiya had never seen anything like this before.
Panic crept in despite himself. An increase in basic ability values meant an increase in strength, yes. But this kind of unexplained growth was something he would much rather not have.
"This is too fast."
He stared intently, observing the panel with absolute focus. Under careful scrutiny, Shirou Emiya discovered the pattern.
Every minute, all five of his basic ability values increased by one point.
At that rate...
"In one day, each value would increase by 1,440 points."
That meant that by tomorrow, his basic ability values would hit their limit.
"What exactly is going on!?"
Unable to understand the cause, Shirou Emiya kept his eyes fixed on the Divine Blessing panel, searching for any anomaly. Guided by his Super Instinct, his attention quickly shifted to one particular skill.
Hero's Egg.
"Hero's Egg...?"
Seeing that name, memories surfaced.
Shirou Emiya recalled the knowledge he had learned back in Rimuru's world. Heroes were not born randomly. They were created by the world itself to resist disasters. Whenever humanity faced a catastrophic threat, the world would select suitable individuals and grant them a Hero's Egg.
Once it hatched, they would become true heroes.
That was how the system worked in Rimuru's world.
But when Shirou Emiya himself had obtained the Hero's Egg, it had been integrated into his Divine Blessing system. No one knew what changes that integration might have caused.
What was certain was this.
Whether he had been defeating Demon Lords in Rimuru's world or slaying Heretic Gods in the Godslayer world, this skill had remained completely dormant.
Until now.
"So... the humans in this world are facing an apocalyptic disaster?"
Or perhaps something even worse.
Shirou Emiya understood immediately.
This was a world where humanity stood on the brink of destruction. The moment he, a candidate hero, arrived, his mission had been activated. The role was simple and absolute.
Defeat evil.
Save humanity.
That was why his strength was increasing without pause. It wasn't random. It wasn't a malfunction.
He was being blessed.
Blessed by the entire world.
When facing an evil capable of destroying the whole of humanity, a hero's power naturally couldn't be insufficient. Under the pull of destiny, without training or effort, Shirou Emiya's latent potential was being forcibly drawn out.
"So that's how it is."
Once the cause and effect were clear, Shirou Emiya's expression settled back into calm composure.
A world-ending crisis.
Yet he wasn't flustered.
As long as there was a reason behind the growth of his power, he could accept it. He could remain steady.
As for saving humanity-
"That is, of course, my bounden duty."
Shirou Emiya had once said he could destroy the world for his sister. That statement had been sincere. But it didn't mean he was unwilling to save the world itself.
He had simply placed his sister's safety above everything else.
When there was no sister on the opposite side of the scale, no hostage tipping the balance, how could he refuse to save the world?
After all-
Who hadn't dreamed of being the one to save it?
With his resolve set, Shirou Emiya felt a subtle shift in the air.
At that moment, the familiars he had sent out returned their findings.
Images flowed back through their shared senses.
Shirou Emiya's expression froze.
Then, without warning, his composure shattered.
"Huh?"
His voice rose despite himself.
"It's actually here?"
