Standing on the frame of the Sun Chariot, Shirou Emiya looked down at Hephaestus, who was driving, and calmly made his declaration.
Seeing Shirou Emiya so close, Hephaestus's heart fell into disorder. He immediately raised his shield in front of him, guarding against the attack he expected.
But Shirou Emiya had already anticipated this.
He placed one hand directly on Hephaestus's shield, stepped in, and raised his fist toward Hephaestus's face.
Facing Shirou Emiya's close-quarters combat, Hephaestus was clearly inferior in technique. Still, he was the son of Zeus and Hera. A descendant of the Titans.
Their fists collided continuously.
Because Shirou Emiya had to use one hand to suppress the shield, he couldn't fully unleash his martial arts. With his slightly greater strength, Hephaestus managed to gain the upper hand for a brief moment.
"As expected of an Olympian chief god. Your strength is truly astonishing!"
"But I'm no pushover either!"
Feeling Hephaestus's power, the authority within Shirou Emiya's body began to circulate.
The Ten Incarnations flowed through him, finally settling on the Bull incarnation.
The next moment, Shirou Emiya's physical strength exploded.
With a single blow, he shattered Hephaestus's punching stance and slammed his fist directly into his face.
"Pfft!"
Blood sprayed continuously as Hephaestus was sent stumbling backward.
Shirou Emiya was already prepared.
He seized the opportunity, snatched Hephaestus's shield, and pulled his falling body back, intending to press the advantage.
But at that moment, Hephaestus suddenly raised an arm to block.
Shirou Emiya's fist smashed heavily into it.
Clang.
A metallic sound echoed.
As the God of Craftsmen, how could Hephaestus not have forged armor? What he wore was divine artifact-grade armor.
Feeling pain surge through his fist, Shirou Emiya extended his other hand, locking Hephaestus's remaining arm.
Flames erupted from Shirou Emiya's body.
"Are you planning to burn me with flames? How naive! I am the God of Fire!"
"Of course I know flames are useless against you. That's why my target isn't you."
As the flames swept outward, the Sun Chariot beneath their feet was ignited, rapidly sliding toward destruction.
"It's too cramped in the sky. Let's fight properly on the ground."
As Shirou Emiya finished speaking, divine lightning descended from the heavens and struck the Sun Chariot head-on.
This time, without the protection of Aegis, the Sun Chariot took the full force of the strike.
Combined with the raging flames, even a divine artifact could no longer endure.
The chariot began to collapse and fade.
"No-no-no!"
As the Sun Chariot vanished, Shirou Emiya and Hephaestus entered free fall.
They plunged through the clouds.
Inferior in martial arts, Hephaestus was quickly pinned beneath Shirou Emiya, taking the brunt of the impact.
"That's...!"
On the ground, Shuna and the others stared upward in alarm at the falling firelight.
In the blink of an eye, the blazing meteor crashed into the earth.
The land shattered.
A massive impact crater formed.
"Cough-cough-cough!"
Smoke filled the air.
Shirou Emiya coughed as he slowly walked out of the crater.
To ensure Hephaestus couldn't escape, he had fallen together with him. Though he avoided direct impact, his internal injuries were still severe.
"Let's call this move Heavenly Falling Meteor."
Looking back at the enormous crater, Shirou Emiya smiled faintly.
Then a chain suddenly shot out from the smoke, coiling tightly around his arm.
"What's this?"
"This is a chain requested by Zeus. In mythology, it was used to bind Prometheus!"
"No wonder it's so tough."
Through Projection Magecraft's analysis, Shirou Emiya immediately grasped its properties.
An indestructible chain.
And its creator was the God of Craftsmen himself.
Hephaestus staggered out of the smoke, blood covering his body. The fall had clearly dealt heavy damage.
"Our battle isn't over yet!"
"Isn't that obvious?"
Shirou Emiya summoned his Unique Mystic Code and swung his sword, severing the chain wrapped around his arm.
"You didn't think I had no way to deal with you, did you?"
The severing ability of his Unique Mystic Code could only reach its true peak when he wielded Doujigiri Yasutsuna.
The severing concept he attached to other Noble Phantasms was never his maximum output.
Even so, when holding Doujigiri Yasutsuna, Shirou Emiya's severing could cut through anything.
He simply rarely summoned it in this world.
When he first became a Blade Breaker, the weapon greatly amplified his power.
But as his strength increased, it became a weakness instead.
Because it was forged from his soul.
If it was broken, his soul would suffer catastrophic damage, rendering him unconscious.
And this flaw only grew more dangerous over time.
Even with Divine Blessing enhancing it, reaching divine artifact level would likely require Shirou Emiya to reach LV.10.
His combat power far exceeded his Divine Blessing level, causing him to face weapons stronger than Doujigiri Yasutsuna.
Against opponents with inferior martial arts, he could protect it.
But among Heretic Gods, equals were common.
That made exposing Doujigiri Yasutsuna unacceptable.
Unless-
The opponent was like Hephaestus.
...
"Your severing ability actually increased?"
Hephaestus's pupils shrank.
For someone who relied entirely on divine artifacts, this meant absolute vulnerability.
"Why wouldn't it?"
Holding his sword calmly before him, Shirou Emiya looked at Hephaestus.
This God-Slaying Battle had been full of twists.
At times, he had no clear path to victory.
But the outcome had been decided from the beginning.
Flame immunity.
Severing divine artifacts.
There was no path to defeat.
"Soul Blade... is your severing derived from this?"
Hephaestus stared at the sword, his gaze gradually settling.
Shirou Emiya noticed everything.
"You found it. The weakness."
He twirled his sword lightly and smiled.
"Don't deny it. As the God of Craftsmen, you couldn't miss it."
"You're already planning your next move."
"But I won't give you the chance."
Shirou Emiya charged.
He swung.
Hephaestus didn't dodge.
He stepped forward.
Destroying that sword was his only path to victory.
As the blade descended, Hephaestus reached out.
As long as he touched it-
"Success!"
His eyes shone.
Then the sword vanished.
At the same time, his arm disappeared.
Ignoring the bleeding stump, Hephaestus asked in disbelief, "What sword technique is this?"
"A technique I learned from the strongest swordsman of another world."
"A divine-speed sword with no delay from zero to maximum."
"Also known as Hiyoku no Ken."
Shirou Emiya flicked the blood from his blade and returned it to guard.
"Winged Sword."
"Hephaestus. I've won."
"Only the end decides that!"
With his remaining arm, Hephaestus swung his hammer.
What answered him was invisible divine speed.
His armor offered no resistance.
His body was severed.
"You win."
Having lost his lower half, Hephaestus showed no regret.
He laughed as he faded.
"I bestow my authorities upon you."
"Though enemies by fate, you've earned my recognition."
"Take my power. Walk the path of a craftsman."
Feeling the power flow into him, watching the golden particles rise, Shirou Emiya replied solemnly,
"I will. Thank you, Hephaestus."
...
"Back here again."
Shirou Emiya stood in the boundless gray world.
This was his third visit.
Less than a month had passed.
"Truly diligent, my child."
Pandora appeared behind him, giggling as she hopped closer.
Then her expression turned serious.
"I never imagined you were from another world."
"You heard everything?"
Though phrased as a question, Shirou Emiya already knew the answer.
"Of course. Three god slayings in one month draw attention."
"So I observed your battle."
"And the reason you noticed-"
"Because I mentioned my swordsmanship's origin to Hephaestus."
Pandora smiled.
"That's right."
Shirou Emiya nodded.
"Are you going to stop the Dark Rebirth Ritual?"
"Prevent me from gaining authorities?"
"How could I?"
Pandora waved her hands in disbelief.
"Why would you think that?"
"I'm not from this world."
"No matter. You're my child now."
She cupped his face and smiled.
"After all, you called me Mom."
She pushed him back.
"This conversation ends here."
As he faded, Shirou Emiya shouted,
"I'll defeat the Last King, Pandora!"
Darkness followed.
...
Waking up, Shirou Emiya felt softness beneath his head.
A lap pillow.
Opening his eyes, he saw Shuna.
"Welcome back, Lord Shirou."
"I'm back."
He had already told her about Pandora.
Looking around, he noticed others missing.
"Erica and Liliana are handling the aftermath."
"And little Rimuru went with them."
"I see."
Swallowing the grape Shuna fed him, Shirou Emiya stayed still.
"I'll lie here a bit longer."
"As long as you wish."
He closed his eyes and checked his Divine Blessing.
A new skill had appeared.
『Hammer of the Craftsman God』
Knowledge flooded in.
"Hephaestus's techniques..."
"So this is the gift."
His mood lifted.
『Hammer of the Craftsman God』
• Authority of Fire
• Divine Artifact Recreation
• Divine Artifact Forging
A comprehensive authority.
Fire control.
Artifact recreation.
True divine forging.
And even his own creations could be replicated.
"I could make a fortune forging for others."
"And use them myself."
He laughed.
"What's wrong?"
"Nothing. I'm just satisfied."
"That's good."
"With this, my goal here is complete."
Shuna froze.
"We're leaving?"
"Yes."
"But only after traveling Europe."
He grinned.
"This time, it's a real vacation."
