"Directly destroying Noble Phantasms. As expected of the God of Craftsmen."
"But what about these Noble Phantasms!?"
As Shirou Emiya manipulated them, several unique Noble Phantasms rose from the ground. They hovered for a brief instant before shooting straight toward Hephaestus.
They were fast. Direct. Ruthless.
Yet before any of them could even reach Hephaestus's face, he had already reacted.
"They're Noble Phantasms imbued with indestructible properties."
As the God of Craftsmen, Hephaestus instantly saw through the secret behind them.
The moment those Noble Phantasms passed through the surrounding flames and were about to strike him, Hephaestus calmly shifted his Aegis shield from his right hand to his left.
The shield intercepted the indestructible Noble Phantasms.
The others, approaching from the opposite angle, were left to face the flames directly.
"Switching shields?"
Shirou caught the movement immediately.
"Then how about this?"
Without hesitation, he manipulated the indestructible Noble Phantasms in the sky. They split cleanly into two formations.
One attacked from the left.
The other from the right.
Their trajectories adjusted precisely. Both sides would strike at the exact same moment.
If Hephaestus relied on switching shields again, it would no longer matter.
"Splitting his forces?"
Hephaestus saw it as well.
His response came just as quickly.
He extended his hand.
A golden bow appeared in his grasp.
It was a divine artifact he had personally crafted for his son, Cupid. A golden bow endowed with an absolute hit ability.
Hephaestus drew the bowstring fully.
Flaming arrows shot forward.
They struck the Noble Phantasms launched from the side, bypassing the severing concept entirely. With his authority as the God of Craftsmen, Hephaestus directly erased the indestructible properties attached to them.
Then, without pause, the flames consumed the Noble Phantasms themselves.
They were reduced to ashes mid-air.
As the God of Craftsmen, Hephaestus possessed an unimaginable level of dominion over Noble Phantasms.
This was the authority of a Heretic God.
"He can actually do that!?"
Shirou felt a jolt of surprise.
Once again, he was forced to clearly acknowledge how terrifying divine authority truly was.
"It seems I can't unilaterally counter Hephaestus."
"As the God of Craftsmen, he counters me as well, in a certain sense."
That realization settled quickly.
"Fortunately, Noble Phantasms are only part of my total strength right now."
"That means I won't be completely suppressed."
His thoughts moved with calm precision.
"If that's the case, Unlimited Blade Works is useless in this battle."
"No need to waste magical energy."
With that conclusion reached, Shirou Emiya deactivated Unlimited Blade Works without hesitation.
...
"Why isn't there any movement at all?"
Liliana squatted on a tree trunk in the forest, staring toward the distant temple ruins. The area was unnaturally calm.
She frowned.
Before they left, Shirou Emiya and Hephaestus had been clearly at loggerheads.
Yet now, after so much time had passed, there was no sound. No shockwaves. No signs of destruction from above.
For Campiones and Heretic Gods, beings who fought like natural disasters, this silence felt deeply wrong.
"Could they still be chatting?"
Hearing Liliana's question, Erica frowned as well. She didn't answer immediately.
But her expression made her opinion clear.
"That's unlikely."
"They might be fighting in another world."
Shuna spoke calmly.
"Lord Shirou has the ability to confine others within his Reality Marble."
"Ah! That's it!"
Liliana and Erica both reacted at the same time.
They immediately recalled the scene of Shirou Emiya's battle with Verethragna.
"I wonder how Lord Shirou is doing now."
"Has he already defeated the Heretic Hephaestus?"
"It wouldn't be that quick."
Shuna answered without hesitation.
Just as she finished speaking, an anomaly appeared within the temple ruins.
"Look!"
The area they had left behind suddenly turned red-orange.
The color spread rapidly, like steel being heated until it glowed under intense flames.
The next moment, the ground itself melted.
It flowed like lava.
A crimson beam of light shot straight into the sky.
"That's a chariot!"
Erica's eyes widened.
"It's the chariot Hephaestus built for the Sun God Helios!"
Her knowledge of mythology allowed her to recognize it instantly.
Almost simultaneously, a golden light surged up from the depths of the underground temple.
It followed closely behind Hephaestus, rising above the clouds.
"Is that Lord Shirou?"
"But what kind of divine artifact is that?"
Erica stared at the golden figure in disbelief.
She had never seen Shirou Emiya use such a divine artifact before.
"The Vimana."
Shuna spoke with certainty.
"That flying vessel is called the Vimana."
"Vimana!?"
Liliana's reaction was immediate.
"An aerospace craft from Indian mythology?"
"The one recorded in the two great Indian epic poems-the Ramayana and the Mahabharata?"
She turned to Shuna, eyes sharp.
"Probably."
Shuna hesitated slightly.
She had never asked Shirou Emiya about it directly.
Even so, Liliana and Erica were already convinced.
The flying vessel's appearance left little room for doubt.
Its body was sturdy, shaped like a giant bird. Gold and precious gems made up most of its structure.
That was exactly how the Vimana was described in mythology.
Looking at the flying vessel Shirou Emiya was riding, one couldn't say the description merely matched.
There was no difference whatsoever.
"I never imagined Lord Shirou had such a divine artifact."
"I really want to ride in it."
Both Erica and Liliana thought the same thing as they looked up at the sky.
...
"I can't believe you even possess such a divine artifact."
Hephaestus spoke with genuine admiration as he stared at the flying vessel Shirou Emiya was piloting.
The next instant, he maneuvered the Sun Chariot.
The two divine crafts clashed in the air.
A crimson trail and a golden trail intertwined endlessly across the sky.
Indestructible Noble Phantasms fired by Shirou Emiya collided repeatedly with the absolute hit arrows launched from Hephaestus's golden bow.
Each collision produced showers of sparks.
From afar, it looked like someone was setting off fireworks across the heavens.
"Tsk. This is troublesome."
Shirou assessed the situation quickly.
Using these divine artifacts, Hephaestus moved like a slippery catfish. Shirou couldn't lock onto him properly.
The numerical advantage of the projected Noble Phantasms was completely nullified.
The raging storms he summoned couldn't keep up with the speed of the Sun Chariot. They lagged far behind, useless.
Powerful flame bombardments.
Lightning strikes.
All of it was blocked by the Aegis shield held firmly in Hephaestus's hand.
And considering Hephaestus's absolute dominion over divine artifacts as the God of Craftsmen, Shirou couldn't simply throw out Pursuer or Exile and let them act independently.
It wouldn't work.
Was he truly out of options?
"To defeat him like this... I can't keep dragging things out."
"I have to close the distance."
"I need close combat."
That decision came without hesitation.
Shirou Emiya activated the power of his Phoenix incarnation from the Ten Incarnations.
The change was immediate.
"The Sun Chariot may be fast."
"But it still can't compare to divine speed."
In the next instant, Shirou stepped directly onto the Sun Chariot.
He stood there calmly, meeting Hephaestus at close range.
And he spoke.
As if the outcome had already been decided.
