"So, what do you think of my explanation?"
Rimuru smiled as he looked at the six figures bound tightly by Sticky Steel Thread.
After dealing with the future Hakurou, only the future Benimaru had remained standing in front of him. But at this point, Benimaru had yet to receive a name. He was nothing more than a highly skilled warrior. His threat level was even lower than Hakurou's.
Defeating him had been easy.
After that, Rimuru bound all six of them together and calmly explained everything from start to finish, clearing up the misunderstanding between both sides.
In truth, even after being defeated, the future Benimaru had no intention of explaining anything.
In his view, being humiliated like this by an enemy was worse than death.
Because of his attitude, the others followed suit and stayed silent.
That silence made Rimuru unusually depressed.
He didn't want to kill them.
Fortunately, not everyone among the six was unreasonable.
As the princess of the Ogre Magi-and the future Benimaru's younger sister-the future Shuna had clearly felt the overwhelming strength of Rimuru and Shirou Emiya. In her judgment, if these two truly wanted to destroy their village, there would have been no need to rely on the Orc army at all.
They could have done it themselves.
Which meant they were almost certainly not the masterminds behind the attack.
With that realization, and after some careful explanation, both sides finally reached an understanding.
"We were mistaken, Lord Rimuru. We truly apologize."
The apology came from Benimaru himself.
Hearing it, Rimuru smiled and released the Sticky Steel Thread, freeing the Ogre Magi.
"In that case," Rimuru said, "we're no longer enemies."
Leaning against a tree nearby, Shirou Emiya watched quietly.
He smiled as well.
He could tell that Rimuru felt sympathy for them. Their village had been wiped out by the Orc army, and their reckless actions were born from desperation rather than malice.
Because of that, Rimuru chose not to pursue the matter further.
Seeing this, the six Ogre Magi grew even more ashamed, apologizing repeatedly.
"Alright, that's enough," Rimuru said.
"No discord, no concord. Since we've met like this, why don't you come back to town with us?"
"We'll host you properly."
"And while we're at it, we can discuss how to deal with the Orc army."
At the mention of the Orcs, the six Ogre Magi didn't refuse.
They had nowhere else to go.
And so, with the six of them in tow, Rimuru and Shirou Emiya led everyone back to their town.
"This is delicious! Super delicious!"
The future Shuna's eyes sparkled as she ate, her expression full of excitement.
"How did Lord Shirou Emiya make something this good?"
The food placed before her had completely exceeded her expectations.
"The secret to delicious food," Shirou Emiya said calmly, "lies in dedication and continuous research."
"As long as you're not satisfied with the status quo and keep digging deeper, your skills will eventually reach a realm beyond imagination."
"Really?"
Shuna tilted her head slightly.
His words sounded reasonable. Yet somewhere in her heart, she sensed a faint incongruity.
She hadn't reached the end of any path herself. She didn't yet understand that everyone had a ceiling. A bottleneck.
And that not everyone could break through their limits.
But Shirou Emiya was overwhelmingly strong.
In the monster world, strength was truth.
Because of that, Shuna trusted his words completely.
"Of course," Shirou Emiya replied with a smile.
He placed a full plate of food in front of her.
Seeing her satisfied expression, he nodded, feeling content.
Then his gaze shifted toward the distance.
Rimuru was there, talking with the Ogre Magi alongside Kaijin, Rigurd, and the others.
Shirou Emiya couldn't hear what they were saying.
But he could guess.
It was likely about the Orcs.
And about inviting the Ogre Magi to join them.
Just thinking about it made him look forward to what would come next.
"So you'll think about it before deciding?"
"That's right."
Inside Rimuru's room, he and Shirou Emiya sat together once again, grilling skewers as they talked about the Ogre Magi.
"Shirou," Rimuru asked, "do you think the six of them will join us?"
"Absolutely."
"I thought so too."
Rimuru smiled as he ate the skewers Shirou Emiya had grilled himself. His expression was one of pure bliss.
After finishing everything in his hands, he paused for a moment.
Then he asked suddenly, "Shirou, what do you think is really behind the Orcs attacking the Ogre Magi?"
Rimuru had no doubt that Shirou Emiya would know.
After all, Shirou wasn't just a powerful warrior. He was also an exceptional mage, proficient in countless forms of magic. Rimuru had personally seen him deploy familiars throughout the forest to gather information.
So he asked without hesitation.
"The Orcs, huh..."
Shirou Emiya finished his skewer as well. He paused briefly before speaking again.
"On the other side of the Jura Forest, there are two hundred thousand Orcs."
"They're wearing armor. They're armed."
"And they're advancing nonstop."
"They're devouring every race they encounter, with the goal of conquering the entire Jura Forest."
"What?!"
Rimuru shot to his feet.
"Two hundred thousand Orc soldiers?!"
"That's right," Shirou Emiya said evenly. "Exactly two hundred thousand."
Unlike Rimuru's shock, Shirou Emiya showed no sign of panic.
Seeing that calmness, Rimuru gradually forced himself to settle down.
Shirou Emiya continued.
"This kind of situation doesn't happen naturally. Someone is clearly pulling the strings."
"This area used to belong to the Storm Dragon Veldora. No one would have dared to interfere."
"But now, Veldora is sealed inside you."
"And everyone else believes he's dead."
"So malicious intentions from outside are starting to seep in."
"Those people want to claim the Jura Forest for themselves."
"This invasion is being driven by a Demon Lord."
"A king of demons."
"A Demon Lord..."
Rimuru repeated the words quietly.
Even though he and Shirou Emiya were both strong, Rimuru had no clear understanding of where his own strength truly stood in the world. Right now, he didn't even have the luxury to worry about a Demon Lord.
Just the two hundred thousand Orc soldiers alone were enough to give him a headache.
"A subordinate of a Demon Lord," Rimuru said. "Can you defeat them, Shirou?"
"If it's just defeating them," Shirou Emiya replied, "of course I can."
"But wouldn't that be a waste?"
"A waste?"
Rimuru looked at him, confused.
"Don't limit your view to what's right in front of us," Shirou Emiya said seriously. "Look further ahead."
"Our enemy isn't just the subordinate being used right now."
"It's the Demon Lord himself."
"As long as he's alive, he'll keep targeting the Jura Forest."
"We can't stay on constant guard forever."
"Then what should we do?"
Rimuru stared at him, waiting for his answer.
"Use this incident as justification," Shirou Emiya said, "to unite all the monsters of the Jura Forest under one banner."
"Take complete control of the forest."
"Then defeat the Demon Lord's subordinate."
"Bring those two hundred thousand Orcs under our command."
"Expand our strength."
"And after that..."
He looked straight at Rimuru.
"You become the new Demon Lord."
"Me?"
Rimuru's voice rose sharply.
"A Demon Lord?"
