"How do we get out of here? What kind of creature is that thing?" Ryn asked as they both pulled away from the hug, his voice sharp with panic and curiosity.
"We already figured that out, and that's why I am here."
That immediately caught Ryn's attention. At first, he did not ask another question but stared at Veyr with rapt attention, waiting for him to explain.
"Sylas sacrificed himself to get this information."
"What?" Ryn's eyes widened in shock.
Veyr gave a slow nod. "We got the answer from Sylas's dragon soul, who told us about the creature. He also said you are the only one who can take it out."
"Wait a second." Ryn raised his hands, then pointed at himself in disbelief. "How the hell am I supposed to take out that thing? And why in the goddess's name would Sylas sacrifice himself for that?"
Veyr shut his eyes for a moment, clearly gathering his words, but Ryn fired off another question before he could speak again.
