"So, Dracula actually exists, huh?" Carlisle said, smiling, one arm hung around Esme, who was seated next to him on the couch, both leaning back in a relaxed posture.

"Not anymore, sadly," Esme spoke in, "but I guess you are somewhat correct. If we take Vlad into account," she turned her eyes to Vlad, "he did inherit his nature, so why not his name?"

Vlad laughed, shaking his head in denial.

"I'd rather not," he said. "The only thing that old man gave me was an old house, which isn't much considering that he lived for more than a thousand years."

And they smiled at his words. They could tell that although Vlad said those words with a straight face, his sentence was far from serious, way too far from what he truly felt.

"What about the wolf people?" Vlad changed the topic. "The tribe stuff, do they still want to meet?"

Carlisle shook his head, then leaned in, grabbing a glass of deer blood. He sank his two canine teeth into it, just enough for their tips to touch its blood.

The blood began to drain, instantly absorbed by his teeth like water with a sponge. Vlad noted the veins from Carlisle's gums, moving alive with its drain.

Until Alice nudged him on the shoulder, a testament that he was staring too long.

He turned his eyes to her, noticing how she smiled when their eyes interlocked. He looked away, turning his eyes back to Carlisle, waiting for the answer.

Carlisle finished taking his drink. He placed the cup on the table, his expression clearly overwhelmed with pleasure.

He cleared his throat, taking a second to acknowledge the flavor.

"They don't seem to want to meet anytime soon," Carlisle said, eyes changing color, and throat clearly underwhelmed. "After the imprint problem, they stopped asking completely." He cleared his throat again, fixing his posture. "I doubt they will resist asking forever, given that you and the women are in some way obligated to sort this thing out."

"At least they stopped persisting," Rosalie shot in. "Do you know how much these dogs kept pestering me?" Emmett's arm, which was interlocked with hers, softly tightened, trying with all its strength to get her to stop. "Maybe her imprinting on Vlad isn't that bad of a deal after all…"

Her words halted when her eyes met with Alice, whose face was lowered downward, and her hand interlocked with Vlad's, all five fingers right in between his own.

She stumbled in her sentence. And silence filled the room.

Until Vlad stood up.

"It's getting late," he said, causing Carlisle, who was also seated, to stand.

"Oh, forgive us," he said, walking to Vlad and stretching out his hand for a handshake. "The conversation was going so well, we lost track of time."

"No, it's cool." Vlad accepted Carlisle's hand, giving it a firm handshake. He turned his eyes to the rest of the room, instantly noting the others, who by now were all standing up and walking toward him.

"Take care," Jasper said, but unlike his usual expression, his current one was more relaxed and at ease.

Emmett, who was second, extended his arms and gave Vlad an exaggerated hug, laughing while doing it.

Vlad turned to the women and nodded his head.

And at first, Rosalie's nod proved to be hesitant, but just like the rest, she finally nodded back.

He laughed, shaking his head.

"The food was amazing," Vlad said, directing the compliment to her.

"I didn't cook anything," she shot back, voice hinting at annoyance. "I only peeled the potatoes," she tried to defend.

"It's nice that you enjoyed it," Esme, as though noticing her cue, shot in. "You are always welcome anytime."

She walked toward Vlad, then gave him a hug, which in turn made Vlad feel somewhat uncomfortable.

Without saying any more words, without adding anything else, Vlad walked out.

And holding his hand, for some reason refusing to let go, was Alice. Too overtaken by love, she remained completely oblivious to the crackles that came from the rest of her family members.

"You should really, like really, stop doing that," Vlad finally said, seeing Alice still holding his hand like their hands were glued.

She let go, softly clicking her tongue, then walked faster just enough to obstruct him with her figure.

It had been 30 minutes since they left, and little to no words were exchanged between them.

Vlad walked forward, stretched his hand, and grabbed hers.

She looked back, visibly on the verge of tears.

He wanted to understand her, but he truly could not.

The pain in her eyes spoke the most, but he simply couldn't fathom its depth.

"I don't know if I love you," he said, pulling her closer to him. "But the…" his voice hesitated. "When you kissed me," he admitted, "I felt something…"

She didn't even wait for him to finish; she just launched forward, arms moving around his neck.

Then kissed him.

This time, Vlad didn't resist. He pulled her closer, hand moving to her waist.

No hesitation as their lips intertwined.

She pulled back, eyes turning to his house.

She had walked him there, and now Vlad had begun to understand the reason.

Alice jumped up, interlocking her legs with his torso.

His breaths increased, heart beating with speeds inhuman.

She kissed him, taking away the privilege for all types of hesitation.

He walked forward, only using his instincts to direct him to the house.

Kicked open the door, then dashed with inhuman speed, launching forward and landing on the sofa.

Alice rolled in dominance, climbing on top of him.

She didn't hesitate, even after Vlad pulled back to maintain eye contact.

She ripped off his shirt, moving her hands onto his perfectly structured abs.

His vision was fading, pleasure taking every sense.

She looked at him again, not asking any questions, not willing to pass up the chance.

She kissed him, then moved her hand from his abs down to his privates.

The hand entered his jeans, passing through his underwear.

He moved his arm in an instant, stopping hers before it could reach.

They paused for a while, and silence spoke within them.

He could feel her nonexistent breaths intertwine with his lips. The stare she was giving him spoke volumes.

He let go of her arm, giving her permission to do as she pleased.

She lowered her hand, completely moving her fingers right to its depth, stroking it.

She did it softly, completely lost in the softness of his lips.

That's until he snapped.

His hands quickly pushed her slightly to the side and dashed to the window.

He opened the blind, just enough for his body to be visible to the outside front.

Right there, approaching from the woods.

A dog.

Clothes slightly wet from the now-gone passing rain.

Eyes locked directly on Vlad's shirtless figure.

"Vlad," the dog said, causing Vlad to frown. "We need to talk."
