Chapter 33- Lets Play A Game
AVA'S POV
I shook my head slowly.
I had no last words for her. Nothing to say to a monster like her.
She chuckled darkly, like she expected that answer.
"That's good," she said, stepping closer. "I really didn't want to hear any of the shit that would've come out of your mouth anyway. So let's get it over with, shall we?"
My eyes flew open just in time to see the blade rising. The dagger—or whatever it was—caught the dim light of the room and glinted like it was proud of what it was about to do.
And then… she came for me.
She aimed straight for my chest.
Is this really it? Is this how my story ends?
Not in battle. Not while running. Not with a whisper from the Moon Goddess… but in a disgusting room, trapped between a murderer and a heartless alpha?
No.
If I was going to die, it wouldn't be like this.
If I was going to go down… then she was going down with me.
I threw my hands up and caught the blade mid-air.
