"Who else would we be talking to like this, if not you, Father?" I said calmly, folding my arms across my chest. "Of course, it's you. And if you don't mind—can you finally excuse us? I've been asking you nicely to leave, but you keep standing here throwing empty threats like they're going to scare us."


"Alright then," he snapped, his voice sharp with fake pain. "I'll leave. Since this is how you've all chosen to treat your only family… to treat the head of the family like this."


"Let's stop you right there," I said, cutting him off. "You are not my only family. These men right here—my brothers—they are my family too. So stop using that line. You're not the only one who matters."
