"Mr. Robert," Avery said his name firmly, her voice slicing through the heavy tension in the boardroom.
All eyes shifted toward the man standing stiffly near the head of the table. His shoulders were hunched, his palms slightly trembling at his sides, while Keaton and Stephen looked like they might faint right there in their seats.
"You all might recall," Avery began, her voice calm but laced with underlying steel, "that Mr. Keaton was quite vocal about accusing me of being responsible for the mysterious disappearance of Mr. Robert here."
She let that sentence settle in the room for a beat before continuing.
"But I knew," she said, glancing toward Keaton without blinking, "that I had absolutely nothing to do with it. So, I took it upon myself to find Mr. Robert. And, fortunately, I did. He was found hiding in City K."
