After hours of fighting on the surface, the breath of air all took in when the relief finally settled in across the world. Fighting came to a complete halt and the injured were treated. The weary looked at the horrible cost of this battle, with equal measures of awe and fear.
"Such a terrible battle…"
"The surface is free now."
"Even so, we did not come out of this fight unscathed."
"I know, all I meant is that now, it's over. The average person can safely travel without fear of monsters hunting them down."
"Yeah… With the surface free of the monster threat, a lot of the world has opened up to us."
"Hey, everyone, take a look at this, Lord Ares is showing us the remaining battles. Let's cheer them on."
"Why's one just a dot, on a bigger dot?"
"Oh, that's where Origin Wolf is fighting the dragon. Apparently it's got three heads now."
"WHAT! How?! That's crazy!"
"I wonder how many stomachs it has now?" The other warriors looked at him, with deadpan expressions. "What? I'm asking the serious questions here, you know! If it's got three heads, and can eat from all three. Does it have three stomachs, or one big one?"
"Who knows?" Ares shrugged. "Just watch the fights, and cheer on their war against the monsters! AHAHAHA!" He cheered.
…
Eventually, all of the level 7 and above managed to arrive at Dragon's Valley in full force, two floating ships with magical bombardment weapons.
With sufficient forces, Albert jumped in the dragon dungeon, where he led an assault with but a single blade.
"Wow, this feels so much better than I thought." Albert spoke with little emotion peeking through. "It's been too long. Let's get rid of these overgrown lizards."
"Holy Damn, he's good."
"Yeah, he is."
"Huh? Maxim!!!"
"Yeah, that man's sword hurt's… But he isn't that much better than I am."
The three recently made low ranking gods went on a one sided assault, even without the dragons being weakened by the moonlight, they were quickly dealing with them.
"Hot damn, those three are something else." Shakti said, with a twitching smile she forced out.
Zald downed a potion. "Those two freaks were always like this. You never saw them fight before, but… Well, there's a reason they reached Level 8 and 9 before I or Alfia did."
"What do you mean like this?" Shakti asked.
"Show offs."
…
Alfia, Ardee, Neze and Rose collectively took a seat after the spell finished. All four of them were completely gassed out.
"That's… Done…"
"What… Now…"
"We wait for our husband to return."
"Yeah… I think I'll just wait here for a while."
The four of them fell asleep laying down on the top of the tower. Snoozing off the minddown.
Some of Hathor familia came up to the tower, and brought them down to a safe place to rest… A much deserved one at that.
…
An hour after the adventurers gathered at the dragon's dungeon, Zald managed to claim the life of the last known dragon.
"Search everywhere, make sure we don't miss a single one. Destroy any eggs, and monsters you find."
Another hour later, the search was finished, a testament to the immense force they had at their disposal, despite the clear exhaustion everyone was experiencing.
"The wolves didn't sense anything else either, right?"
"None of them reacted in any way. I certainly didn't find anything either." Bete said.
"Hmm, in that case… Shurry is free to end it now. Here's hoping we didn't take too long."
…
The 6th planet from the sun, in the middle of the red spot, a dragon bearing the marks of war with a relentless and indomitable wolf, and a wolf bearing the numerous injuries from a three headed dragon, continued their clash intensifying the storm around them.
Shurry got a message from Hathor, but it was fuzzy, however, Ra took charge this time, and flashed the sun ever so slightly.
With a surge of strength, Shurry headbutted the three headed dragon square in the base of its neck sending it flying back towards the 3rd planet. And then, he gave chase once again. His body burning bright with silver light.
The dragon had been stunned and with its speed blew right by the 3rd planet until it started to curve right back around, slamming down like a meteor, thankfully with minimal speed. It slowly started to lift itself from the massive crater it landed in. Letting out a roar, one sounding just like the cry for aid. It looked around, sensing where there might be some help.
Nowhere responded, not even the dungeon. For the dungeon was currently dealing with the tamed firepower of a level 10 mage with a terrifying rage, bombarding everything with magic. Nothing was safe from her… Why was she so upset? Simple, the honeyclouds were all gone, so the monsters must pay the price for taking away her sweets.
Just as the realization was settling in for the three headed dragon, a wolf roughly the same size, landed with its full weight on top of it. And let out a howl carrying the anticipation of victory.
However, both were utterly exhausted, and without the nearly 100 moons supporting him, and the extent of his injuries, he reverted back to humanoid form. And was literally a man fighting a mountain.
"Heh, I seem to recall a series back in the old world with a phrase like that. Only it was a pebble facing a mountain." Shurry said with a painful grin on his lips, he coughed up a little blood, and then wiped his mouth clean.
The three headed dragon shook, and slowly lifted its heads in a moment of defiance, and hope of success. However, Shurry ran around to the back and grabbed it by one of its four lightning coated tails, and then began to spin around.
A hurricane formed over land from the sharing winds coming off the motion, one could call it a dragonado…
Then, Shurry heaved the massive weight, and slammed it down on moonlight platforms to keep the planet from breaking apart like the other one. Heaving again, the dragon slammed down again, this time on massive spines of moonlight, piercing it all over.
All leading into another spinning force, swinging the dragon's body through sharpened moonlight. Turning the dragon's body into bloody black ribbons of flesh, and scales flying everywhere. This went on for 10 minutes, just to ensure it was well, and truly dead, before Shurry let go of the tail, and fell to his ass, and then to his back, exhausted.
"You alright?" It was Albert.
Shurry couldn't speak anymore, too exhausted. He gave a small thumbs up, and a smirk, with a great deal of difficulty.
"Ah, I know that feeling well." He took out an elixir, and powered it all over Shurry, then helped him up to his feet. "I'll help you back to Orario… Be proud, you pulled off what I couldn't do. And, get used to the hero treatment, it isn't ending anytime soon." He chuckled, as Shurry's muffled groan. "Don't worry about it, we all felt like that. Only fools want to be heroes." He laughed, and the two slowly walked it off.
The dragon was finally dead…
