By the time it reached one-thirty in the afternoon, Axel finally decided to move. He slipped on his jacket, grabbed his bike keys, and wheeled the sleek black machine out of the condo's parking area. The ride wasn't long. The King shopping center was only a short distance away, so within twenty minutes he was already pulling up to the busy district.
The sun was glaring down from above, painting everything gold. The streets bustled with activity. Couples strolled together, families tugged their children along from one store to another, and groups of young people laughed and compared shopping bags as they passed by. Smiles and chatter filled the air.
