Chapter 37 - Chapter 35: Acts of Cowardice, Intolerable

This day was, without a doubt, extraordinary for Enel. Today, he saw a person without wings—yes, exactly like him, wingless. A young man just a few years older than himself.

He stood there, a hint of regret on his face, asking if Enel wanted revenge, if he was resigned. And then, he called him a coward!

Upon hearing those words, Enel felt a whirlwind of emotions.

"I'm not resigned! I want revenge, I want to kill them, but do I really have that power right now? What do you know? I'm not a coward! You just spout nonsense without knowing a thing!" Enel roared to himself in his mind.

"Hey, brat, where did you crawl out from? Don't you know what kind of place this is?"

"Revenge? That Enel? Hahaha, that's hilarious!"

"I'm standing right here; he wouldn't dare touch me."

"Brat, today we're gonna teach you a lesson."

The four "bird-men" were yelling loudly, but Doflamingo didn't even spare them a glance. His eyes were fixed on Enel, awaiting his reply.

"Hey, hey, hey, why are you wearing sunglasses, acting all high and mighty? You looking for a beating?"

"Are you mute? Can't you hear us?"

"What are you doing here, showing off?"

"He needs a lesson, brothers, let's go!"

The four "bird-men," seeing Doflamingo ignore them, couldn't take it anymore. They wouldn't tolerate being disregarded, especially by a wingless brat, considering themselves descendants of gods. For them, it was a profound humiliation.

Quick, but not heavy, fists flew towards Doflamingo, who remained unfazed.

Enel, seeing the scene unfold, warned out of kindness: "Dodge quickly!"

The four "bird-men" had excited expressions on their faces, as if they already saw Doflamingo crying under their blows.

While the four "bird-men" were lost in their daydream of jointly beating Enel and Doflamingo, the punches had already been thrown. All four were sent flying in four different directions, landing on the ground with a thud.

Enel watched the scene, utterly surprised, his mouth almost agape.

"So fast, so strong! I didn't even see him move," Enel murmured softly.

"Alright, no more annoying flies. Now, you owe me your answer!" Doflamingo said, looking down at Enel, who was still sprawled on the ground.

Without glancing at the four fallen "bird-men," Enel wrestled deeply with himself as he listened to Doflamingo: "If I had his power, I could get my revenge, couldn't I?"

"Acts of cowardice will not be tolerated. If you want revenge, do it yourself! You coward!"

Seeing Enel still hesitant, Doflamingo, who enjoyed playing the mentor, spoke loudly:

"I... I'm not a coward! I want revenge, I crave revenge every waking moment, I want to kill these people!"

Upon hearing Doflamingo's thundering voice, Enel could no longer hold back his tears. He wept and let it all out. For so many years, countless insults and beatings. He lived like an insect without dignity. He was fed up. Fed up with this trash world. Instead of living cowardly, waiting for a chance at revenge, or even failing to achieve it, it was better to seek revenge alongside this young man who seemed just like him.

Once lit, the flame of revenge would never extinguish until all enemies were annihilated.

Although the fire of revenge was already fully ignited in his heart, Enel knew very well that he still lacked sufficient power and was no match for the god.

Enel looked with hope at the young man in front of him, who was his own age. Since he was so strong, revenge wasn't impossible! Thinking this, Enel composed himself and got up from the ground.

Doflamingo looked at Enel: the white turban covered his hair, long earlobes hung over his chest. Though he appeared disheveled, he hadn't lost his spirit.

The two exchanged glances, and finally Enel was the first to speak:

"You're not from Birka, are you?! I've never seen you before."

"Oh! He has a bit of perception," Doflamingo found Enel's words intriguing.

"You, in this place, are like a frog in a well. The world is vast."

Hearing Doflamingo's reply, Enel immediately brightened, looking at Doflamingo with a spark of hope in his eyes.

"You... you came from the Endless Land, didn't you? Can you tell me how to get to the Endless Land?"

"Fufufufu, brat, you're mistaken. I'm not from the Endless Land," Doflamingo laughed loudly, seeing Enel's hopeful gaze.

"You're not? Then why are you like me?" Enel asked, a little disappointed.

"Although I'm not from the Endless Land, I come from the true land. While I've never visited the Endless Land, I've certainly heard of it."

Enel, who was already disappointed, felt hope rekindled upon hearing this.

"Really? Can you tell me how to get to the Endless Land?"

Seeing Enel so obsessed with the Endless Land, Doflamingo found it quite amusing.

"The Endless Land you speak of is above your head, on the moon. If you want to go, of course, you have to fly there," Doflamingo explained.

Enel, upon hearing the definitive answer, wasn't surprised. He thought to himself: "Surely, the Endless Land isn't that easy to reach. There's only one way: using the Ark Maxim."

"However, do you think the Endless Land is a good place?" Doflamingo perceived Enel's thoughts, imagining that the boy was probably planning how to reach the Endless Land.

"You... why do you say that?" Enel asked, confused.

"You also know that the sky inhabitants were originally from the moon people, right? The moon is the Endless Land in your words. But do you know why the moon people, with such a good moon, didn't stay there and came here?"

Doflamingo, seeing that Enel didn't interrupt him, continued:

"It's because the moon is now desolate. Your ancestors could no longer survive there, so they fled the moon, escaped their city of Birka, where they lived, and took refuge here. They are merely surviving precariously here. Do you really think they are gods?"

Doflamingo's words caused a great turmoil in Enel's heart. He hadn't expected his longed-for Endless Land to be so real, and he found it difficult to accept.

"It can't be, it's impossible, you're tricking me."

"It doesn't matter if you accept it or not, facts are facts. Besides, your enemies are still out there. Is it good for you to remain hesitant?"

Doflamingo's words were like a bucket of cold water, instantly awakening Enel.

"It's true, I can't do anything right now. Even if it's a lie, what can I do?"

"Do you want revenge? I can give you the power to take revenge."

Doflamingo's words were like those of a devil, gently luring Enel, making him unable to resist.

"You? You're not much older than me! You can give me power?" Enel asked suspiciously.

"Fufufufu, truly underestimated me, huh? Come on, don't hold back, use all your abilities to attack me. Show me your strength!" Doflamingo laughed, domineeringly.

"Yeahahaha, since you said it, then let me see why you have such audacity!" Enel also laughed, casting off all his disillusionment, confident and extravagant.

"Another kid who's never suffered life's harsh lessons. Let me educate him."

Doflamingo looked at Enel's pose, feeling very annoyed. How dare he show off more than him? He would make Enel understand why the flowers were so red.
