After a good while, the laughter of the two finally ceased.
Doflamingo pulled Enel to his feet and declared, "My family welcomes you."
Enel, as he was helped up, seemed moved and said with a choked voice, "I have a family again."
"Hey, hey, hey, Enel, you're not going to get weepy now, are you? That's not very manly, fufufufu," Doflamingo teased, seeing the moisture in Enel's eyes.
"What?! How could I get weepy! You must be mistaken. With those sunglasses, you probably can't see straight," Enel retorted, turning his head with an air of wounded pride.
"Alright, alright, I was mistaken, I didn't see clearly," Doflamingo didn't press the matter, letting it go to save Enel's face.
"Ah, ah, I still don't know what I should call you," Enel composed himself and asked Doflamingo, a little awkwardly.
"Oh my, is this the Enel I knew? He has such a cute side!" Doflamingo thought to himself. In truth, this was normal. After all, Enel had just emerged from a period of cowardice and had just accepted a new family. He didn't know Doflamingo very well yet, felt like a stranger, and this reaction was completely understandable.
"My name is Doflamingo. I come from the Blue Sea, what you Sky Island inhabitants call the Blue Sea. And I am a pirate. You can call me Doffy," Doflamingo quickly regained his composure and introduced himself to Enel.
Enel, hearing Doflamingo's introduction, pondered: "Blue Sea?! So, what exactly is a pirate?"
Enel seized the moment to ask his question.
Doflamingo didn't mind and explained to Enel point by point.
"A pirate, huh! There are many ways to describe that. It's better to say it depends on the kind of pirate you want to be. Some think pirates are the freest, others think they are unforgivable villains."
"In truth, none of that matters. The important thing is what you want for yourself. You are now also a pirate. The kind of pirate you want to be, you'll have to figure out for yourself. Everyone's answer is different."
After listening to Doflamingo's explanation, Enel reflected for a moment. Although he didn't fully grasp it, he understood that being a pirate meant doing whatever he pleased, not being limited by others, acting on impulse. In other words, it was about living according to one's own nature.
Seeing Enel lost in thought, Doflamingo didn't interrupt him.
"Pirate, huh! Not bad at all," Enel showed no repulsion, but instead replied with satisfaction.
"Fufufufu, then congratulations on becoming a pirate too."
"Yeahahaha!"
The two laughed, as if celebrating their entry into piracy. At that moment, the four "bird-men" lying on the ground awoke from their unconsciousness, struggled to get up, and by chance, overheard Enel and Doflamingo's laughter.
The four, seeing themselves in a deplorable state and Enel laughing openly, were filled with rage and shouted: "Enel, you traitor, how dare you ally yourself with an outsider? Are you even a sky inhabitant anymore?"
Upon hearing the shouts, Enel and Doflamingo stopped laughing and turned to the four "bird-men" who were struggling to stand.
"Traitor? Sky inhabitant? I didn't realize I was a sky inhabitant! Did any of you ever consider me one of you? I don't recall having any connection with you sky inhabitants. Ah, if it's about connection, then it's hatred. All these years of bullying, insults, beatings... Do you think nothing happened? Now, that the situation has worsened, you come talking about betrayal, right? So tell me, who betrayed whom?"
Enel approached the four, his expression cold, as if looking at four dead men.
Enel's calm and cold words were like knives, deeply piercing the hearts of the four "bird-men." However, they caused no real damage, for they had never considered Enel one of them. How could they be shaken by Enel's words?
"Audacious, Enel, you humble and despicable monster, who gave you the courage to dare defy us? Is it because of the person behind you? Hehe! Don't forget, you're only alive right now because of our mercy. Do you really want to rebel?" the four "bird-men" were genuinely angered and reprimanded Enel.
"Yeahahaha, what a joke! That's the best joke I've ever heard! Nobody gave me courage; I've wanted to do this for a long time. I'll never be submissive to you again. Everything you've done to me, I'll return a hundredfold. I, Enel, have come for revenge, you scum!" Enel laughed loudly, as if possessed.
"You, Enel, who do you think you are, you despicable wretch, to speak to us like that? God won't forgive you; expect to be executed!" the four "bird-men" angrily retorted to Enel, showing no weakness.
"God, I just..."
"Fufufufu, god, huh? How scary! Coincidentally, I also wanted to see him. I wonder if you could make the introductions?" Doflamingo interjected, cutting off Enel's reply.
Only then did the four "bird-men" turn their eyes to Doflamingo, and then they arrogantly said: "Are you scared now, you despicable wretches! You, too, want to see our god? What a joke! Do you think just anyone can see God?"
Doflamingo couldn't help but admire their courage. Sometimes, ignorance truly is bliss. However, Doflamingo was never one to be easily provoked, especially after being mocked by these four arrogant fools. Even a saint has his limits! It's easy to imagine how irritated Doflamingo was at that moment.
"Fufufufu!"
Doflamingo had a vein throbbing in his forehead and walked towards the four "bird-men," laughing loudly.
"Since you can't see God, then I'll take you to see your so-called god. You just need to cooperate with my performance; after all, you are the protagonists of this play!"
The four "bird-men" watched Doflamingo approaching. His steps were slow, but each step seemed to trample on their hearts, like the melody of death.
"Don't come closer!" the four screamed in unison. Remembering the beating they had received, they felt an instant chill.
"What are you going to do? God won't forgive you!"
"Enel, you traitor, don't stop him!"
"If you leave now, we can act like nothing happened!"
"That's right, that's right!"
The four spoke at the same time; the scene was chaotic. Doflamingo remained impassive. He stopped beside Enel and advanced no further, instead, he patted Enel on the shoulder and merely observed him.
Enel seemed to understand something and nodded at Doflamingo.
The four "bird-men" sighed with relief upon seeing this and then continued to dig their own graves.
"I thought it was something serious."
"Still, they're afraid of our god."
"After all, God is the most powerful; it's normal for them to be afraid."
"Exactly, exactly."
Enel and Doflamingo didn't bother to speak further. They had their own matters to attend to and had no time to waste on these useless individuals. Enel left Doflamingo's side and walked towards the four.
"Let me collect some interest first."
"Enel, you dare..."
"Are you crazy?"
"God won't forgive you!"
"Help!"
Before the four finished speaking, they were one by one knocked down by Enel, who attacked them.
"Trash," Enel spat at them disdainfully.
"Fufufufu, let's go. The show is about to begin."
