"It's over, it's over, we're dead!"
This was the common thought as everyone saw the sword energy approaching.
The powerful sword energy quickly descended, and the Sky Islanders, terrified, squeezed their eyes shut, silently awaiting death.
Just when everyone thought these residents were doomed, a powerful shockwave swiftly flew in, clashing with the sword energy. The collision created a massive air current that pushed the residents backward, instantly snapping them out of their daze. Relief washed over every face as they realized they had narrowly escaped death.
"Ah, I'm alive!"
"I'm not dead, this is great!"
"The God's Enforcers have arrived! The God's Enforcers saved us!"
"These damned thugs, the God's Enforcers are here! Let's see how arrogant you can be now!"
Those who had escaped the jaws of death rejoiced, comforting each other.
Seeing this scene, Ibis, her face streaked with tears like a messy cat, also broke into a smile of joy and relief, truly captivating and beautiful.
Diamante paid no attention to Ibis; everyone's gaze was fixed on the sword energy.
Diamante had been anticipating the crude display of the people under his sword energy, but he hadn't expected a prominent figure to arrive. He had thought a single strike would quickly resolve the problem and allow him to swiftly complete his mission. Instead, he had attracted even greater trouble, and his expression grew even more grim.
"Tch, how troublesome! It's going to delay the Young Master's mission again."
Tap-tap-tap
Regular footsteps approached from afar. A bald man, stripped to the waist, with bulging muscles overflowing with power, led the way. He wore white gloves, indicating that the recent strike had originated from his hands. The small white wings on his back looked even smaller in comparison to his physique. Behind him followed a neatly organized line of White Berets.
"So, it was you, you damned thugs, who dared to invade our Birka! Since you've come, don't even think about leaving!"
A booming voice echoed, carrying a palpable killing intent towards Diamante and his group.
"Haha, it's Guzman-sama, one of the Four Priests! You're dead!" The residents, seeing the Priest leading his men, immediately cheered and jeered.
Ignoring the residents' mockery and taunts, Diamante calmly regarded the newcomer and said coldly, "Priest, huh! Not bad, you've got some strength."
"How dare you! You disrespect the Priest-sama!" A White Beret officer, unable to tolerate someone belittling his superior, immediately shouted a reprimand.
However, he was met not with a verbal comeback, but with a sword energy several meters long. Without a word, Diamante lashed out. He had no time for idle chatter with them.
"Hey, hey, hey, you're not putting me in your eyes, are you? Killing my subordinate right in front of me, what nerve you have!" Guzman immediately retaliated, blocking the attack for his subordinate. The powerful sword energy was worn away by Guzman's bare hands.
"I really want to curse your family! Where's your strong demeanor? How could you attack without a word?" The subordinate who had just spoken felt a chill, wiping the cold sweat from his forehead, thinking to himself.
"How is this possible? My slash was actually blocked and worn away by his bare hands!" Diamante was deeply shocked, and his expression grew even heavier.
In fact, it wasn't as Diamante thought. His sword energy wasn't simply worn away by Guzman. If Doflamingo were here, he would have realized that a Sky Islander without Armament Haki couldn't block it so easily. Of course, this was a unique Sky Island technique. Guzman's gloves contained an Impact Dial, which absorbed Diamante's sword energy. But Diamante didn't understand any of this, which led to his shock.
"Enough talk. Let's finish you quickly; I have important business to attend to," Diamante suppressed his shock and immediately charged towards Guzman with his sword.
"Excellent! You all step aside. Watch how I deal with these scoundrels!" Guzman told his subordinates, looking at the approaching Diamante.
With that, he went at Diamante empty-handed, and the two began a perilous battle.
"Long Sword Pierce!"
Diamante's long sword struck towards Guzman's head, aiming to stab a hole in him.
Guzman was no pushover. He swiftly dodged the long sword and swung his palm towards Diamante, intending to return the full force of the Impact Dial in his hand to Diamante.
Diamante, anticipating the danger, wouldn't let his enemy succeed so easily.
He quickly retreated, and another Crescent Moon Funeral strike came.
The flying slash was truly vicious!
Guzman, too, had anticipated this. The power of the Impact Dial in his hand also released the absorbed sword energy.
Two sword energies of the same size clashed and negated each other in mid-air.
This scene made Diamante somewhat understand how the opponent made his sword energy disappear.
"So that's it. It seems he has a way to absorb my slashes. In that case, I can't use slashes anymore," Diamante thought to himself.
"Painful, such immense power, such a strong tearing sensation! My hand is almost useless. It seems I can't easily absorb the opponent's attacks," Guzman inwardly marvelled at Diamante's strength. As the strongest of the Four Priests, his robust physique allowed Guzman to use the Impact Dial, otherwise, an ordinary person would surely injure themselves.
Neither of them knew what the other was thinking. Diamante was wary of the Impact Dial in Guzman's hand but didn't know Guzman no longer dared to absorb. Guzman, on the other hand, was wary of Diamante's slashes and planned to engage in close-quarters combat, but he didn't know Diamante also dared not unleash any more sword energy.
They both made surprisingly consistent choices.
The two, wary of each other, began a new round of close combat. However, with the advantage of his long sword, Diamante didn't allow Guzman to gain the upper hand.
Upward slash, downward chop, horizontal sweep—the most basic sword moves—yet they put Guzman in a very difficult position.
A nearby subordinate couldn't stand it anymore and shouted, "Guzman-sama, catch this sword!"
Hearing the subordinate's shout, Guzman's movements were swift. He quickly turned and caught the long sword. But how could Diamante let such a good opportunity slip away?!
With a thwack, the long sword pierced Guzman's arm, instantly causing blood to gush out.
"Guzman-sama!"
"Despicable!"
"You damned bastard!"
Some timid individuals couldn't even bear to watch the scene, covering their eyes and hoping Guzman would be alright.
"Despicable, hehe, I like it. We're pirates! As long as we win, nothing else matters."
Diamante didn't care about being despicable or not; as long as he could win, any means were acceptable.
Guzman also reacted quickly, sweeping his long sword horizontally to force Diamante back.
"You're right, there's nothing despicable about it. Winning is all that matters," Guzman's expression was grim, completely disregarding his injury. He knew he was the only one who could withstand the opponent; if he fell, the consequences would be unimaginable.
"Again!"
"Again, then again! Do you think I'm scared of you?"
Both shouted simultaneously, clashing swords. There was no trace of swordsmanship to be seen; it was purely a brute force contest between two tough men. Even Mihawk would marvel at how their swordsmanship had been turned into this. Diamante, where is your swordsman's dignity?
Neither could get the better of the other for the time being, both wary of each other. In terms of strength, Diamante surprisingly held his own, which greatly startled Guzman.
"Where did these people come from? Their strength is incredible."
However, this scene, witnessed by the Sky Islanders, filled their hearts with deep worry. They feared Guzman's defeat, which would undoubtedly lead to their utter destruction.
While Guzman and Diamante were fighting, the other Family executives also encountered their opponents.
In the western part of Birka, the one leading the team was Trebol. Two long streams of snot trailed from his nose, making him repulsive. His subordinates dared not say anything. However, the Sky Islanders, upon seeing him, were incredibly curious and bold, even daring to speak ill of Trebol.
"That guy looks so disgusting, all slimy with long snot, truly repulsive."
"Yeah, yeah, so gross! And they don't even have wings!"
"Probably just some low-class scum again."
These words ignited Trebol's displeasure. After all, he was a pirate; how could his temper be good?
"Stick-Stick Shot!"
His subordinates watched as Trebol unleashed his power, instantly trapping all the residents in his mucus. They were completely bound in slime.
"What is this, it's so disgusting!"
"Bastard, let us go now!"
"You're revolting, how can there be such a disgusting person like you?!"
Familiar scene, familiar curses, but it was useless. This time, no one came to save them. Trebol wasn't kind enough to spare those who insulted him.
"Stick-Stick Chains!"
"Stick-Stick Meteor!"
Trebol launched thick, brownish, slippery mucus secreted from his body over a long distance, forming spherical, grid-like mucus chains. Multiple chains stuck to the targets, then swiftly threw the residents one by one into the sky.
"Ah!"
"Help!"
"I don't want to die!"
"High Priest-sama, come save us!"
These Sky Island residents were terrified, screaming and crying in mid-air, making grotesque displays of fear. It was precisely this commotion that attracted the attention of the God's Enforcers.
Many Sky Islanders were thrown into the air, their bodies unable to move due to being stuck by mucus. Under the force of gravity, they fell one by one from the sky, landing in scattered pieces. Some, even lucky enough to survive, were severely injured. This was Trebol's naked retaliation.
The heavily impacted crowd groaned in agony. Some had already lost consciousness, while others were pale, spitting large mouthfuls of blood. Crying, wailing, and cursing were incessant.
"Bwahahaha, what, still have the strength to struggle?" Trebol laughed, observing everything, very pleased with the outcome.
Just as Trebol was about to continue questioning, he suddenly felt a wave of heat approaching and immediately dodged the sneak attack.
"Who is it?! What little thing dares to ambush me?!" Trebol was furious, fortunately, he had been forewarned.
"You damned bastard, to cause such heavy casualties! Unforgivable!"
The newcomer held a Western-style spear in one hand and a peculiar shell in the other. Surprisingly, the flames had just erupted from this shell.
"Help us, Jeremiah-sama!"
"Jeremiah-sama, quickly kill him and avenge us!"
The helpless wails turned into hopeful pleas. Jeremiah, receiving everyone's hope, felt profound anger. Looking at the crowd, he loudly declared, "Don't worry, I will avenge you! This guy will pay the price! No matter who it is, whoever invades our Birka will be punished, no matter how far they flee!"
"Bwahahaha, what a big mouth, kid, who are you?" Trebol was completely uninterested in these emotional outbursts, curiously looking at Jeremiah.
"I am Jeremiah, one of Birka's Four Priests! I'm the one who'll take your life! Prepare to die, bastard!"
Jeremiah, carrying the spear of wrath, lunged at Trebol.
"Snot Blade Snatcher!"
"Hot Lance Charge!"
The mucus blade and the spear made contact, and the mucus was instantly melted by the high temperature of the spear.
This greatly surprised Trebol. Not only did the opponent have a shell that could shoot fire, but also a high-temperature spear. Indeed, Sky Island still had some hidden depths.
Trebol's mucus was countered by high temperatures, making it difficult to deal with the opponent easily.
This greatly boosted Jeremiah's morale. The spear in his hand moved like a dragon, each thrust aimed directly at Trebol's vital points, determined to punch several large holes through him.
Trebol narrowly dodged, each time almost making zero-distance contact with the spearhead. Feeling the fiery spear, Trebol was greatly uncomfortable; he hated this weapon.
The two were locked in a stalemate, neither able to get the better of the other for the moment. Although Jeremiah's spear made Trebol very uncomfortable, Trebol's mucus was also not to be underestimated. If he didn't give Jeremiah an opening and kept his distance, Trebol could simply wear Jeremiah down with his mucus, playing a long-range defensive game, annoying his opponent.
"Do you only know how to be disgusting from afar?" Jeremiah said angrily, unable to vent his frustration.
"Bwahahaha, come and hit me, you idiot!" Trebol wasn't falling for it. Knowing that the opponent's spear and shell countered him, he wouldn't squander his advantage.
"You, you despicable fiend, do you think you can run? Having committed such great evil, God will not forgive you!"
"Nyeh-nyeh, God? I haven't heard of him. But the only one who can become a god is my Young Master. You're still far from it!"
"How dare you! You dare to blaspheme God! You seek death! Take this!"
"What kind of 'God' is that? If he's so mighty, tell him to come here!"
The two continued to verbally spar, but Trebol ultimately had the upper hand. Jeremiah, enraged, charged again.
"Flame Wave!"
Massive flames surged towards Trebol, while Jeremiah prepared to use his spear to stab the enemy from behind.
"Multi-Layer Sticky Walls!"
Trebol quickly formed multiple walls of mucus to block the incoming flames, but the effect was mediocre.
There was no choice; Jeremiah was ready to launch another attack behind the flames, so Trebol could only evade.
"I don't believe your flames are inexhaustible!" Trebol said furiously after dodging Jeremiah's attack.
With so many subordinates present, yet unable to defeat the opponent, Trebol felt greatly humiliated.
"They'll certainly be enough until I kill you!"
"Is that so? Don't underestimate me too much."
"Enough talk, die, you bastard!"
"Bwahahaha, so eager, are we? Sticky Hell Journey!"
Trebol spread mucus all over the ground, intending to deplete Jeremiah's flames and slow his advance.
Jeremiah, seeing this, cursed inwardly. What was this disgusting stuff? He didn't want to touch it at all. He quickly used flames to clear the mucus from the ground, sweeping it clean in no time.
"Snot Blade Snatcher!"
Trebol's move was telegraphed, allowing Jeremiah to quickly dodge. Seeing his opportunity, he pressed the attack. The spear flashed, continuously pressuring Trebol.
The high-temperature spear almost melted the mucus covering Trebol, making him very disheveled. Usually, the power of his Devil Fruit made Trebol unstoppable, to the point that his physical combat skills were rather weak, arguably the worst among the four Family executives. This made the current fight incredibly difficult for him.
The subordinates watching Trebol and Jeremiah's intense battle also joined in to help, easing the pressure on Trebol.
Although Jeremiah was alone, his weapon allowed him to easily deal with the subordinates, who were either burned or directly impaled by his spear when they couldn't dodge in time.
With the help of his subordinates, Trebol was able to catch his breath and launch a sneak attack.
"Sticky Meteor Shower!"
Jeremiah, unable to dodge in time, was finally about to be hit by Trebol's numerous mucus projectiles. However, before Trebol could even celebrate, Jeremiah blocked them with his spear.
"You're truly disgusting!" Jeremiah said with revulsion.
Trebol said nothing, intending to continue wearing down his opponent with his Sticky-Sticky Fruit power. Although Trebol's physical combat was weak, he was still a Haki user. The fact that he looked so miserable could only mean Trebol relied too much on his Devil Fruit's power. As a long-range support mage, he shouldn't be making a warrior's moves; it was very inelegant!
Trebol, who usually hid his body, was certainly not accustomed to close-quarters combat, and the high temperature greatly countered the mucus covering his body. Thus, it seemed these two wouldn't determine a winner anytime soon.
While Trebol and Jeremiah were locked in a stalemate, in the southern part of Birka, Vergo was diligently carrying out his work, asking his subordinates about Enel's whereabouts.
"Um, excuse me, Enel, does anyone here know him?" Vergo was quite polite, though his face was solemn and had food stuck on his left cheek, which made him look very odd. Who has food stuck on their face like that?!
On the street, Sky Islanders were busy with their own affairs, minding their own business. Vergo's question, however, instantly caused an unnecessary stir.
Vergo and his group had already attracted attention due to their differing appearances from the Sky Islanders. Now, hearing the name "Enel," they became instantly wary, like startled birds.
Enel was a sensitive topic for them; he was their scar. No one would mention him unless absolutely necessary. These people were clearly outsiders, so why would they know Enel's name? Did they have some ulterior motive? Why were they looking for Enel?
Alarm bells rang in the Sky Islanders' minds, but they feigned nonchalance and said to Vergo,
"Um, young sir, may I ask why you're looking for Enel?"
Vergo seemed oblivious to their pretense, his expression unwavering. He continued, "It's nothing important. We're just curious about him. We heard he looks different from you, without wings, not an ordinary Sky Islander."
"Ah, is that so?" Some Sky Islanders felt embarrassed and ashamed, sensing the dishonor this brought to Sky Island.
"Ahahaha, Enel does look a bit different from us."
There were always clever ones who wouldn't so easily believe Vergo's lies.
"Can you take me to see Enel? We can offer you a reward; we're really curious about this person," Vergo continued to press his request, even offering a reward to prevent them from refusing.
"This, it's not impossible. Please follow me," a seemingly clever Sky Islander said before others could react.
Vergo said nothing, immediately following him, leaving the other Sky Islanders looking at each other, their minds buzzing with questions.
"That direction, isn't that where the God's Enforcers are? Did he take the wrong way?"
He hadn't taken the wrong way. The Sky Islander leading them intended to lead Vergo and his group into a trap, to have them surrender. An outsider, no matter how amiable or approachable, couldn't be trusted. So, dealing with them beforehand would be beneficial for Birka.
After walking for quite some time, Vergo and his group saw the Sky Islander in front stop. They also halted, curiously observing their surroundings. This was the central area of Birka, where the temple stood. The imposing temple's age was hard to discern, but an ancient aura emanated from it, speaking volumes of its long history.
"Is Enel here?" Vergo asked, looking at the temple.
"Yes, he's inside. You can go in. This is the temple; ordinary people aren't allowed. I'll take my leave now."
As if afraid of being seen through by Vergo, the guide immediately spoke of his departure, not wanting to get involved in this mess.
"Oh, is that so? Then thank you," Vergo was very polite, expressing his gratitude.
"Nothing to thank for. I'll be going now," he said, trying to retreat before Vergo could respond.
"Wait, you haven't taken your reward. Don't be in such a hurry to leave," Vergo joked.
"No need, I'm happy to help, haha!"
"Five-Color String!"
Taking advantage of the guide's momentary distraction, Vergo instantly produced five almost transparent, thin strings from each of his five fingers. He posed with a claw-like hand, sending the five strings towards the opponent. The piano-wire sharp strings instantly sliced through his body.
"Ah!"
A cry of pain, and the guide fell silent, his body severed into several pieces, a truly miserable sight.
This was the first time the subordinates had seen Vergo in action. It had to be said, he was indeed incredibly strong and ruthless.
"Let's go. Let's see what the temple holds," Vergo said emotionlessly, completely unfazed.
The ruthless scene had just been witnessed by the temple guards. They hadn't thought much of it before, but seeing these people daring to kill someone right in front of the temple, they immediately realized the gravity of the situation and quickly rushed to report to the Priest.
Vergo, as if nothing had happened, confidently strolled towards the temple.
"How dare you! You murdered a resident and shamed the temple! Die, you bastards!" Another guard, hot-headed and young, sought to avenge the killed Sky Islander and the desecrated temple. He charged at Vergo with his long sword.
"Seeking death," Vergo's subordinates, also quick-witted, immediately stepped forward to block the attack and assaulted the guard en masse.
Soon, the guard was dealt with, having overestimated himself, dying a miserable death. Vergo acted as if he saw nothing, continuing to gaze into the depths of the temple, for he had already sensed someone approaching.
"Prepare to die, you bastards!"
The newcomer moved incredibly fast, able to move quickly through the air, charging at Vergo with a powerful, enraged punch. Unfortunately, it had no effect.
"Spiderweb Wall!"
Vergo swung his arm to the side, then released a giant spiderweb-like wall composed of hundreds and thousands of transparent threads to act as a massive shield against the opponent's attack.
"What?! How is this possible?!" Zag was utterly shocked. He was confident in his strength, yet his attack had been so easily blocked. And what was that "Spiderweb Wall" that blocked his power? He was curious.
"No matter what, I absolutely cannot let you run wild in the temple! Take this!" Zag cast aside his distracting thoughts and continued to attack Vergo.
But would Vergo be so careless? The previous sneak attack had greatly annoyed him, and to vent his frustration, he decided to thoroughly deal with his opponent.
"Bullet String!"
The high-speed Bullet String shot out like bullets towards the charging Zag. Zag, understanding the danger, used his Breath Dial on his shoes to quickly dodge.
Vergo, seeing this move rendered ineffective, but also noticing the opponent constantly closing the distance, remained calm.
"Parasite!"
As Vergo swung his hands, he created a nearly transparent, thin string from each of his five fingers, which descended at high speed from above the opponent's head, intending to pierce Zag's body and stop his advance.
Zag, not unaware, evaded the attack beforehand.
Vergo's move was truly powerful; the sharp strings even pierced the ground.
Zag watched this, cold sweat beading on his forehead. If he hadn't dodged quickly, his body would surely have been perforated.
"Indeed? I didn't expect you to have Observation Haki," Vergo expressed his displeasure at Zag dodging his attack.
"Observation Haki? What's that?" Zag hadn't heard the term before and looked confused.
But Vergo wouldn't explain anything to his enemy. He immediately rushed towards Zag, his attacks unrelenting.
"Super Strong Whip!"
Zag wasn't so easy to deal with. He immediately used his Mantra and Breath Dial abilities to swiftly dodge Vergo's attacks. Zag was incredibly agile, which irritated Vergo somewhat.
"Spiderweb Wall!"
Taking advantage of Zag's dodging, Vergo immediately deployed a Spiderweb Wall to cut off Zag's escape routes.
Seeing Vergo's move, Zag knew things were bad. At the same time, Vergo perceived the opponent's predicament and unleashed another Super Strong Whip towards Zag. Due to the limited space, Zag was somewhat unable to dodge and was whipped by the powerful strings, spitting blood.
"Vergo-sama, so strong!"
The onlookers, who were just observing, immediately cheered for Vergo with joyous faces.
Only the accompanying guards immediately rushed to the Priest's side, worried, to check on his injuries.
Strike while the iron is hot. Vergo had no intention of letting them escape.
"Die now, Parasite!"
Zag, supported by a guard, immediately became highly vigilant, quickly shoving the guard aside. However, he himself found it difficult to dodge, knowing he was doomed to die.
"No, Zag-sama! Someone save Zag-sama!" The guard who had been thrown aside, seeing this scene, immediately had tears welling up in his eyes and shouted loudly.
Such a touching scene, yet it didn't move Vergo. The attack that was coming still came.
Even Zag, feeling his life was hopeless, began to close his eyes and await death, when a long, flowing cloud-patterned sword, like an iron wall, blocked the attack for him.
"Hey, Zag, why are you so careless?"
Zag, who had thought he was doomed, heard the familiar voice and opened his eyes, seeing Loida blocking the attack for him. He felt a wave of relief.
It turned out that the last of the Four Priests had finally appeared, bringing the last of the temple's forces to resist the enemy.
"Thanks to you, Loida, otherwise I really would have died," Zag said gratefully.
"Less talk, save the thanks for after we defeat the enemy," Loida said, his expression grim, looking at Vergo.
"Yes, the enemy is strong."
"Let's both go at him."
"It seems we have no choice but to team up."
"Haha, I didn't think there'd be a day where we two would team up. Let's go!" Loida finished, then took the lead, his flowing cloud-patterned long sword striking at Vergo like a whip.
The guard forces also surrounded Vergo's subordinates, determined not to let a single enemy escape.
Vergo showed no expression, remaining cold and cool. He couldn't be bothered with idle talk and immediately sent a Super Strong Whip towards the sword-whip.
Loida's long sword, like a whip, entangled Vergo's Super Strong Whip. The two whips intertwined, trying to restrain Vergo. Zag also took the opportunity to use his Breath Dial and charged at Vergo.
"Heavy Punch Impact!"
Zag also went for the kill to take down Vergo, even using his Impact Dial, which he rarely dared to use. If this move landed, neither Vergo nor Zag would be left unscathed.
Zag didn't see the panicked expression he expected from Vergo. Instead, he even saw a faint hint of mockery on Vergo's face.
"You bastard, die!" Zag, seeing the mocking look on Vergo's face, instantly flared up.
"Too naive."
"Multi-Layer Spiderweb Wall!"
Vergo immediately released the threads in his hands, quickly creating several layers of Spiderweb Walls in front of him to block Zag's powerful impact.
It was a complete one-sided situation. The powerful impact left Zag in agony, sending him flying. He was already severely injured by the powerful Super Strong Whip strike, and now, after suffering such a massive impact, his internal organs were also damaged.
"Zag!"
Seeing Zag, who had been sent flying by his own power, Loida anxiously shouted his name, his body swiftly moving to catch Zag in mid-air.
Holding the heavily injured Zag, Loida's mood was extremely grim.
"Are you alright, Zag?"
"I'm fine, we're not his match! Go, he's not someone we can handle alone!" Zag coughed, covering his blood-spitting mouth.
"I know, you don't need to worry about it. Guards, quickly take Zag to get treated, and report the seriousness of the situation to God," Loida said solemnly, quickly giving orders.
"Loida-sama, I understand!" The guards quickly took Zag's body from Loida's hands, carrying him and preparing to leave swiftly.
"Have you made all the arrangements for your afterlife? Now it's just you and these small fry," Vergo knew that these people couldn't escape their fate, so he didn't bother chasing them.
"Heh heh, even small fry will take a bite out of you! Protect the temple, eliminate the enemy! Everyone, follow me!" Loida loudly encouraged his comrades, charging at Vergo together.
While Vergo was battling the two Priests and the guard forces in front of the temple, in the northern part of Birka, Pica was also rapidly engaging in combat. However, there were no Priests there who could withstand Pica's power.
The cause of the commotion was Pica's unique voice, which was simply too amusing.
Pica, who rarely spoke, was ridiculed by these Sky Islanders and immediately became enraged, beginning his ruthless slaughter. Having lived peaceful lives and claiming to be descendants of God, the proud Birka residents never expected to encounter a devil today.
Mountains of corpses, wails everywhere. Pica didn't care how much these people begged for mercy; he only wanted to vent his emotions, even forgetting his mission.
Today in Birka was destined to be an extraordinary day.
