'Thats quite an understatement.' Dorian thought as he wondered where to start 'The most important thing right now is to learn to use my aspects right? As I don't trust him enough to tell him about the second aspect or the legacy. I'm sure that once I'm in Nephtis I would be able to get my hands on more information.'
Dorian decided to go with the safest and simultaneously, the most important questions he could think of, "What really are Aspects? And how am I supposed to use mine?"
"You will learn about everything in detail at the academy, but still, I shall give you a brief account." Knox answered.
"You must understand that mana is present everywhere and in everything, or conversely, everything is made up of mana, it is the essence of the universe. But still, in the end, mana is just raw energy, energy with no direction.
Magic is the gift to control that mana, to shape it and to direct it towards a desired goal. And although any Awakener could theoretically learn any sort of magic given enough time, in reality, it also depends upon the compatibility of that magic with the Awakener's mana core. If the magic and his mana core were too incompatible, it would take him a really long time to learn the magic, sometimes too long to even be considered a possibility. And even if a magic was compatible with the core, it takes months, or even years to learn, unless it is related to the Awakener's Aspect.
An Aspect could be considered as a magic, or rather as a combination of a few of them, which is the most compatible with an Awakener's core, to such a degree that an Aspect could be called the unique magic of the Awakener.
Also, just like mana cores, Aspects are ranked based upon their strength. The Link calls the Lowest ranked as the Common Aspects. Common Aspects are also called as D rank Aspects by the Awakeners. Then there are the Uncommon Aspects, which are known as C rank Aspects. Next are the Epic Aspects, called B rank Aspects. And then there are the Legendary Aspects, known as A rank Aspects.
Finally, there are the Supreme Aspects, called the S rank aspects. Getting higher ranked Aspects gives an Awakener tremendous potential for growth. Most of the lords of the clans of Nephtis and the few other powerful figures possess an S ranked Aspect.
But the Aspect rank is not the only deciding factor for an Awakener's overall strength and potential. For example Lord Draco, one of the most powerful Awakeners in Nephtis, has only a C ranked Aspect.

Dorian tried not to show any expression on his face but he was not sure if it was working, he was simply too shocked. 'I knew it was something good but this? Supreme was S rank? That means I have two S ranked Aspects? And if Supreme is the highest rank then what about Cosmic? And the legacy item I received was Supreme ranked too, is that the same? Does that mean I received an S ranked item?' He wanted so desperately to ask these questions but he knew that he had to be careful.
"What is your Aspect rank?" Dorian asked, wanting to know more about his mysterious kidnapper.
"Ah..I would advice you not to ask that question to any other Awakener in Nephtis, as it is considered extremely rude, unless the other party offers the information on their own accord." Knox whispered.
"Oh I am so sorry. I didn't mean to-" "Its fine, I don't mind. My Aspect rank is Supreme. But we don't have enough time to talk about that. You will have to leave for Nephtis very soon, after having breakfast of course, but I have to tell you a few important things before that."
