Synopsis
Leo is a cynical, centuries-old bird with a refined palate and a single life goal: to secure a luxurious retirement. Living in the pristine Lumina Academy during the "Era of Harmony," he finds existence dreadfully boring. The world is too perfect, too peaceful, and too clean. His ticket to the good life relies on the arrival of the prophesied "Child of Destiny," whom he intends to adopt as his new master. During the grand entrance exam, Leo places his bets on Fia Starloom, a flawless noble girl who commands the six elements in perfect harmony. She is the ideal ticket to a life of steak dinners and silk pillows. But then Eliot Spitzer steps forward. Disheveled, starving, and smelling of ozone, Eliot is a walking glitch in their perfect reality. When he touches the sacred Resonance Stone, he doesn't create harmony; he unleashes a violent storm of conflicting elements and a forbidden color that defies nature: Gold. In the ensuing explosion, a terrified Leo accidentally drops a "gift" of crystallized mana (ancient bird droppings). To Leo's absolute horror, Eliot devours it with a smile. Now, fate has cruelly bound Leo not to the princess of light, but to a garbage-eating anomaly. Leo’s peaceful retirement is over; his new job is babysitting the hungry, chaotic future that is waiting to devour the world.

Chapter 1 - The World's Unluckiest Bird

Here is the English translation, maintaining the casual, cynical tone of Leo the bird and using common elemental terms (Fire, Water, Wind, Earth, Lightning, Nature) without complex jargon.

LEO'S DIARY: THE TALE OF TWO MONSTERS AT THE END OF AN ERA

Author: Leo (The World's Unluckiest Bird)

Location: The Crystal Hall, Lumine Academy (The Era of Harmony)

My name is Leo. I'm just a bird. Don't ask what species I am; let's just say I'm the kind that's been around since your great-grandfather was still learning how to tie his shoelaces.

I live in a time that people call the "Era of Harmony." If you ask me, a better name would be the "Era of Boredom."

The world is too perfect. Mana—the magical energy that keeps us all alive—flows smoothly through the air. The rivers are clear, the forests grow lush, and magic is everywhere. There are no wars. Everything is organized, neat, and... boring as hell.

My daily tasks are simple: Eat high-quality magical fruits, sleep in a silk nest on the academy roof, and occasionally poop on the head of the school founder's statue—that guy with the pretentious face. It's a good life.

But today, my peace is under threat.

The Crystal Hall—the largest and grandest room in the academy—is packed. Thousands of people have gathered. Rumor has it, today an ancient prophecy will come true. They say the "Child of Destiny" will be born. Someone whose magical talent is so great that the universe itself will have to bow down to them.

"Tch," I thought, preening my wing feathers atop a giant crystal chandelier. "In peaceful times like this, what's the point of great power? Probably just to show off lighting birthday candles."

I looked down. Hundreds of kids were lined up, waiting for their turn to touch the White Resonance Stone. It's a sacred stone that can see the type of magical element inside your body.

So far? Silence. Most kids just make the stone blink one color. Red for Fire, Green for Nature. Standard. Boring.

Until that name was called.

Part 1: The Princess of Light

"Fia Starloom!"

The examiner's voice echoed. From the front row, a girl stepped forward. And for the love of good seeds, she was indeed something else.

Her name was Fia. Her hair was a brilliant blue. She wore a simple white dress, yet somehow on her, it looked more expensive than this entire building.

As she walked, nature seemed to roll out a red carpet for her. The Wind—which came from who-knows-where in this closed room—blew gently, clearing the dust from her path.

I, Leo, am a simple creature. I like comfort. And this girl radiated an aura of extreme comfort. Without thinking, I flew down and landed on her shoulder.

The crowd held their breath. "Look! Leo the Bird chose her!"

Fia turned to me and smiled. Her smile was warm. Her scent? Like fresh flowers and morning air.

"I hope she's the chosen one," I prayed silently. "If I become her pet, my future is bright. Soft beds, steak every day... ah, beautiful."

Fia reached the Resonance Stone. She placed her graceful hand on the cold surface of the stone.

TING!

A clear sound rang out. The stone began to glow.

First, a blazing Red (Fire), warm but not burning. Then Blue flowed calmly (Water). Lush Green (Nature), sturdy Brown (Earth), whistling Yellow (Wind), and flashes of Purple (Lightning).

Usually, these elements hate each other. Fire wants to burn Nature, Lightning wants to strike Earth. But in Fia's hands? They made peace.

The six elements appeared together, spinning neatly to form a perfect rainbow circle. They danced, filling each other in.

It was Pure Harmony.

The examiners wept with emotion.

"Six Elements..." the Headmaster whispered with a trembling voice. "Perfection. She is the Queen of the Future who will keep this peace eternal."

Fia smiled humbly. The light faded slowly, leaving a warm feeling in everyone's hearts.

I rubbed my head against her cheek. Gotcha, I thought. You are my meal ticket.

But, the laws of nature have a terrible sense of humor. Just when you feel too comfortable, there's usually a disaster peeking from behind the door.

And that disaster had a name.

Part 2: The Walking Black Hole

"Eliot Spitzer!"

Suddenly, the air in the hall changed.

The crystal lights flickered as if they were afraid. The gentle Wind around Fia died instantly, replaced by dry air that made it hard to breathe. The potted ornamental Nature plants along the hallway suddenly withered and dried up as this kid walked by.

A boy stepped forward.

Good heavens. If Fia was an expensive painting, this kid was an old newspaper used to wrap fried food that got stepped on by a horse.

His red hair was messy, looking like he'd been electrocuted by Lightning. His eyes were dark blue, sunken, with thick black circles as if he hadn't slept in a week. His gaze was empty, but at the same time... Hungry.

But what made me immediately fly away from Fia's shoulder back to the roof wasn't his appearance.

It was his smell.

This kid didn't smell like body odor from being lazy. No.

He smelled like Thirst. He smelled like Fire running out of wood. He smelled like parched Earth screaming for rain.

In an age where magical energy was abundant, Eliot's existence felt "wrong." His body was like a giant dry sponge, violently sucking up energy around him.

The people in the hall took a step back. Their instincts screamed: Stay away from him. He is a disease.

Eliot didn't care. He dragged his feet to the stage.

He stood before the Resonance Stone. His hands shook violently. Cold sweat poured down. He looked like he was in pain.

"Hurry up," the examiner urged with disgust.

Eliot swallowed hard. He pressed his dirty hand onto the sacred stone.

Silence.

One second. Two seconds.

"I knew it," I thought. "He's empty. No talent."

Then... CRACK.

Not a beautiful bell sound. It was the sound of stone fracturing.

The Resonance Stone didn't sing. It screamed. A high-pitched screech pierced everyone's ears.

Then, the colors came out. And it was chaos.

Fire spewed wildly, trying to evaporate the Water. Earth cracked, trying to bury the Wind. Lightning struck madly, burning the Nature.

There was no harmony. There was only war. The energy around Eliot was so rough, so "thirsty," that the stage floor began to crack.

"Stop it!" the Headmaster shouted. "The stone can't handle it! The energy is too heavy!"

But Eliot couldn't let go. He was stuck there. His eyes went wide.

And suddenly... amidst the chaos of six elements killing each other, something else appeared.

Something that silenced the entire hall in horror.

A light of Gold.

Not yellow lightning. This was Old Gold. Heavy Gold. Gold that felt alien and absolute. A color that didn't exist in any textbook. A color that shouldn't exist in this world.

The Resonance Stone—the strongest object in the academy—began to crack severely. The golden light was too dense for a normal vessel.

"ENOUGH!"

Too late.

BOOM!!!

The sacred stone exploded.

Shattered into fine black dust. The shockwave swept through the entire hall.

Me, Leo the unlucky old bird, got hit by the impact up on the chandelier. The wave knocked me around until I was tumbling through the air, my heart feeling like it was about to burst from the shock.

"DAMN IT!" I screamed in bird language. "I HAVE A WEAK HEART, YOU FOOL!"

And this is where the embarrassing incident happened.

Because I was scared half to death, my digestive system had... an accident.

I "dropped a load."

But because I've lived for hundreds of years eating high-quality magical fruits, my poop isn't normal poop. Inside my stomach, the leftover energy solidifies, crystallizing into a small stone that contains very dense, pure energy.

A small crystal stone—which was basically ancient bird poop—fell gliding downwards.

PLOP.

The stone fell, cutting through the smoke of the explosion, and landed with terrifying precision right in the palm of Eliot Spitzer, who was still dazed.

Silence. Gripping silence.

Everyone stared at Eliot with fear. They thought he was about to unleash world-destroying magic.

Eliot looked down. He stared at the small, warm, slightly squishy object in his hand.

He should be disgusted. He should realize it came out of a bird's butt.

But... his eyes.

His eyes, which were empty and dim before, suddenly lit up.

He didn't see filth. He saw Energy.

In a world full of subtle energy, Eliot's body was starving to death. His body was too wasteful, too big, and the energy in the air was too "thin" for him. He needed something solid.

And my poop? That was a lump of pure solid energy.

Eliot lifted the stone to his nose. He sniffed it deeply.

And because the stone explosion earlier tore through magical boundaries, for some reason, I could hear his inner voice.

"It smells... thick. It smells... strong. Finally... real food."

My heart stopped beating. Don't tell me he wants to...

AND HE ATE IT!

For the sake of all ancestors! In front of hundreds of nobles, that crazy kid threw bird poop into his mouth!

Crunch.

I covered my eyes with both wings. I couldn't bear to watch.

Eliot chewed. Swallowed.

The reaction was instant. His pale face suddenly flushed fresh red. His trembling body stood upright. Thin Fire steam came out of his pores, a sign that his body system had just been refueled.

He looked like someone who had just drunk a potion from the gods.

"Bitter..." his inner voice echoed in my head. "But sweet... Hot... My stomach is... finally full."

BURP.

He burped.

Not a normal burp. Thin Golden smoke came out of his mouth.

The whole hall stared at him with a mix of horror and disgust. Fia Starloom, the Perfect Princess, looked at him as if Eliot were a cockroach that had just mutated into a giant.

They didn't see a hero.

They saw a monster. A monster that destroyed a sacred stone and ate filth with a happy face.

The Headmaster trembled, pointing at Eliot. "W-What power is that?! And... what did you just do?!"

Eliot wiped his mouth with his dirty sleeve. He looked at the people around him. For the first time, his eyes were focused. Sharp. And terrifying.

He didn't answer. He just looked up at me on the chandelier. He smiled.

"Thanks for the meal, Bird," he thought, and I heard it clearly. "I'm still hungry."

I went limp. My feet couldn't grip the metal of the light anymore.

My life is over. Goodbye, dream of a luxury retirement in Fia Starloom's lap. Goodbye, beef steak.

Fate has just tied me to this garbage-eating kid.

Fia is the symbol of a beautiful present. But Eliot... Eliot is the sign that a terrifying, hungry, and chaotic future is standing right at the door.

And damn it, I'm the snack.
