Chapter 7 - Forced Awakening

"What will I have to do?"

Knox moved out of his chair and glided over to Dorian. "Only do stay still and try not to fall unconscious."

With that Nox moved behind Dorian's chair and placed both of his hands on Dorian's shoulders.

Instantly, Dorian felt a chill spread from his shoulders to his chest, it was as if inside his ribs, a thick and ice cold liquid was seeping towards the centre of his chest. Dorian, who was expecting horrible pain was surprised to find it surprisingly bearable, although a bit uncomfortable. In his surprise, he relaxed his clenched jaw but suddenly, the ice cold feeling was replaced by burning heat, it was as if the ice cold liquid inside of his chest kept getting hotter and hotter. He felt as if his lungs were going to vaporize any moment now, he felt out of breath despite trying his hardest to fill up his lungs with air.

Dorian found his earlier belief in their mysterious kidnapper faltering. It was not merely painful, it was pure sadistic torture. It was unbearable, unimaginable pain. He felt as if molten lava was getting filled in his chest and simultaneously, someone was punching him in the chest, repeatedly, with a drill.

Slowly, the pain started to spread out from his chest to his neck, arms and legs, as if the molten lava was alive inside his body, trying to burn him whole from inside, spreading to every fiber of his being.

He also felt his vision getting blurry and a shrill ringing in his ears.

It was getting more and more painful, even his head felt like it was going to explode any second now. He didnt know how much longer hr could bear this or how long this was going to go on.

Heck, he didnt even know how long it has been since the pain started, an hour? a minute? a few seconds? or an eternity?

The ringing in his ears kept getting louder and now he could see a deep darkness in his peripheral vision, as he tried to focus his eyes, the darkness began to spread, until finally, the darkness was the only thing he could see.

But then, something strange happened. Dorian found himself floating in a dark and still space, the ringing in his ears completely stopped. In fact there was no noise at all. It was eerily silent.

'Did I pass out?' Dorian wondered as he found himself surrounded by complete darkness. 'At least the pain stopped.'

Dorian realized that the pain in his body was reduced to a dull soreness all over his body and even though he couldn't see or hear anything, he was finally able to breathe comfortably.

'Am I supposed to do something here? That guy didn't tell me anything about floating around in space.' Dorian tried to calm down and think. 'Assuming that I didn't make a mistake in trusting him and he didn't put me here on purpose, there should be a way out right? Am I supposed to look for something here?'

As he tried to move around trying to make contact with a solid surface, he also realized that he didn't have any sense of direction in this place, not even up or down. Was it because there was no gravity in that place? Then how could he breathe? What was holding down the air if there was no gravity?

'There is nothing here.' No matter how much he tried to move around, he didn't find anything aside from empty space.

'Am I stuck here?' Once again, Dorian felt a wave of unease and helplessness, similar to the one he felt when he saw Lily lying dead in that alley not too long ago.

But as he was about to give in to despair, a clear, feminine voice, seemingly coming from everywhere around him called out.
