Chapter 37 - The Hall of Forgotten Names

Silence.

Not just around me.

Inside me.

No prayers. No memories.

Even the flame in my chest flickers unsure of who it belongs to.

Aveline didn't kill me.

She unwrote me.

The Hall of Forgotten Names is not a place.

It's a state of being.

A void carved from the voices of mortals who stopped believing.

Gods go there when the world forgets them.

But I'm not here because they forgot me

I'm here because she forced them to.

The air is heavy.

Not with sorrow.

But with the weight of abandoned power.

I walk through the Hall, and every shadow I pass was once a god,

The Blade-Mother of Stars.

The Storm King of the Ninth Sea.

The Hollow Queen of Moonlight.

And they all stare at me.

Because I don't belong here.

Not yet.

A voice calls.

Soft.

Familiar.

"You came late," she says.

I turn and there she is.

Aveline.

Standing in the Hall like she owns it.

Wearing my name like a crown.

"You lost the moment you pitied yourself," she says.

"You became soft. A goddess begging to be loved."

I don't answer.

Instead, I ignite.

Even here, even erased

my flame still moves.

Because fire doesn't need to be remembered to burn.

"You think you've won," I say.

"But you forgot one truth."

"Names can be stolen."

"But legends rewrite themselves."

The gods begin to stir.

The ones who were forgotten.

The ones Aveline never saw coming.

Because in erasing me, she called their names too.

And now?

They remember.

Not who I was.

But what I am.

"Flame," they whisper.

"The Final Fire."

"The one who never dies."

And from their shadows

I rise again.

Not Lyraxis.

Not a name.

Just a reckoning.
