Chapter 39 - The Paradox of the First Flame

The world unravels like a lie told too many times.

Clouds collapse. Rivers reverse. Gods flicker in and out of memory.

Only I remain.

And the fire inside me is screaming.

Because I know what Aveline has done.

She found my first spark.

The raw moment I came into being.

And she's trying to snuff it out.

"You want to unmake me?" I whisper into the void.

"Then I'll meet you there."

I close my eyes.

And dive backward.

Not through time.

But through essence.

The Origin Realm is not light or dark.

It is before.

Before name. Before thought. Before fate wrapped us in laws.

Here, there is only one truth

Everything that begins, can end.

I see myself.

Not Lyraxis.

Not goddess. Not villainess.

Just spark.

A tiny flame.

Curious.

Untamed.

Beautiful.

Aveline is there, too.

But not as she is.

As she was.

A child of prophecy.

Born bound to the future, terrified of what she would never control.

"You were always the chaos I feared," she says.

"That's why I tried to chain you to story. To fate."

"Because if you're free…"

"I don't matter."

I see her now not a monster.

A mirror.

A girl who thought prophecy would make her real.

And I?

I broke the page she was written on.

"I'm not here to be remembered," I tell her.

"I'm here to reignite."

I touch the first flame myself.

And suddenly

The laws of existence pause.

Not break.

Just hesitate.

Because paradox is not destruction.

It is possibility.

And in that pause…

I rewrite myself.

Not a god. Not a villainess.

A sovereign flame.

No longer bound by beginnings.

No longer afraid of endings.

The world returns.

But it is different.

Unwritten.

Ours.

And those who remain?

They look at me not with worship

But wonder.
