Just as Arthas was about to shout, "I've been holding back!" and deflate Xenovia's arrogance, Yuuto Kiba beat him to it.
"So, a survivor from that project, then?" Xenovia frowned at Yuuto's words.
"You're God's messengers, so I ask: Just because they weren't suited to the holy sword, you killed them all? What kind of reason is that?!" Yuuto roared, his sword pointed at Xenovia.
"That incident was undeniably the Church's negligence. Irina and I also abhorred that project. All remaining personnel were exiled." Xenovia stated.
"Heh… heh. Exile? A mere exile? You murdered so many innocents, and a simple exile erases all guilt? All the hatred? Truly worthy of God's messengers, hiding such ugliness beneath the light."
"Yuuto, stand down. You're too impulsive!" Rias's displeased voice cut through the air.
"No, President. I'm calm. This isn't about Excalibur; she insulted us all. As one of the 'new generation' devils she mentioned, I must make her pay." Yuuto said calmly.
"Hmph, a challenge? We from the Church aren't afraid of you devils!" Xenovia accepted the challenge without hesitation.
"Ugh…" Rias sighed, helpless at Yuuto's decision.
This deep-seated hatred had festered in Yuuto for a long time. Letting him vent might be best.
The schoolyard was empty, classes long over.
A crimson barrier rose before them, enclosing Yuuto and Xenovia.
Xenovia shed her white robe, revealing a black combat suit that perfectly outlined her figure. She held the Excalibur·Destruction, a massive weapon disproportionate to her petite frame.
"What are Yuuto's chances?" Rias asked, watching.
"Very low," Arthas shook his head. "Xenovia has Excalibur; the advantage is too great."
It was unpleasant to admit, but Xenovia and Irina Shido could easily surpass any young devil; Excalibur's suppression of devils was too significant.
"Very low…" Rias looked worriedly at the battle.
Devils couldn't touch Excalibur; contact caused irreparable damage, even a small scratch spreading instantly, consuming the devil.
Yuuto activated his divine artifact, summoning numerous demonic swords.
"'Demonic Sword Creation.' It creates swords based on the wielder's mental image. Even among demonic sword artifacts, it's unique." Xenovia's voice held a hint of grudging admiration.
"However… being demonic swords, they're utterly ineffective against Excalibur!" Without giving Yuuto time to react, Xenovia charged, wielding her massive sword.
Yuuto spun, summoning swords before him, kicking them out one by one.
Xenovia didn't retreat, easily destroying the swords that blocked her path with Excalibur.
"My sword is specialized for destruction. Nothing can withstand it!" The swords offered no resistance. Xenovia, graceful and powerful, closed in on Yuuto.
Yuuto gritted his teeth. The wind from Xenovia's sword brought a burning sensation. A direct hit would incapacitate him.
Xenovia attacked with powerful, sweeping strikes, her sword descending towards Yuuto.
Yuuto avoided the blow, narrowly escaping.
Excalibur struck the ground with a thunderous boom, shaking the schoolyard. Dust and debris flew, pelting the crimson barrier.
The dust settled, revealing a massive crater between Yuuto and Xenovia.
"That's my Excalibur. It destroys everything. Excalibur·Destruction isn't just a name." Xenovia said triumphantly, sheathing her sword.
Yuuto's expression turned bitter.
The weapon disparity was too great. He couldn't even manage a simple clash, let alone defeat her.
And there were seven Excaliburs. Destroying them all was a path of carnage.
But… he couldn't surrender. If it's destructive power…
"Uwaaaaaaaaaah!" Yuuto roared, a massive, almost indescribable weapon materializing in his hands.
"Let this clash decide the outcome, the destructive power of your holy sword against my demonic swords!" Yuuto charged, wielding the giant sword.
Yuuto swung! Xenovia sighed, seemingly disappointed.
"Unfortunately, you chose wrong." Xenovia's cold voice echoed.
Clang!
A deafening metallic shriek! Yuuto's giant demonic sword was cleaved in two.
Xenovia's Excalibur was undamaged, having effortlessly destroyed Yuuto's sword.
"Your strength lies in diverse demonic swords and speed. Wielding a giant sword limits your arm strength and speed. Seeking destructive power? For your style, it's superfluous. Don't you understand that?"
"This attack… will leave you immobile!"
Xenovia swung her holy sword, mercilessly striking Yuuto with the hilt.
