Chapter 284 - Chapter 284: A Million-Year Soul Beast?

"Hahaha! Our Imperial Navy really is a force of steel now, isn't it, Commander Shi?" Huo Yuhao laughed heartily. After the courteous pleasantries, he didn't say much more.

Standing atop the deck of the Sunshine, Huo Yuhao calmly walked forward, meeting the countless respectful gazes of the soldiers in crisp white naval uniforms. His heart, however, was filled with emotion as he made his way toward the captain's quarters.

Who could have imagined that just a few years ago, he was merely an ordinary person from another world?

Yet now, destiny had granted him extraordinary fortune, allowing him to traverse into the body of this world's chosen child—Huo Yuhao.

Originally, Huo Yuhao's life was already one of legend. But with the additional advantage of his memories, knowledge, and insights from his past life, he had essentially rewritten that legend into an even grander one.

In the world of Douluo Continent, it was now a certainty that Huo Yuhao's name would be etched into history. He would become the stuff of myth and folklore. Compared to him, even the Sea God Tang San from ten thousand years ago no longer seemed that remarkable.

After all, what Huo Yuhao had done for this entire civilization was nothing short of earth-shattering.

It wasn't an exaggeration to say that Huo Yuhao alone had elevated human civilization across the entire Douluo plane to a brand-new level.

Once inside the captain's quarters, Shi Dongsheng—the Grand Admiral of the Sun Moon Empire Navy—sat down in the captain's chair and issued the official command for the fleet to begin its voyage.

With the engines of the soul guidance ships roaring to life, the massive fleet of steel warships began to head out across the vast ocean, boldly setting sail for the new continent.

"Yuhao, what do you think the new continent will be like?"

In their cabin aboard the Sunshine, Meng Hongchen lay curled up in Huo Yuhao's arms, her face full of curiosity as she asked the question.

Huo Yuhao gently stroked her soft, snow-white hair and shook his head. "I don't know either."

Based on what he remembered from the original storyline, Huo Yuhao only knew that the new continents were inhabited by native populations. Their level of civilization was relatively low—at least compared to the developed societies of the Sun Moon Continent. In many ways, they were more like aboriginal tribes.

Aside from that, he didn't know much. Everything else remained a mystery.

"I see," Meng Hongchen muttered. She poked Yuhao in the ribs, pouting. "I never really imagined that there were other continents beyond the sea. Most people probably believe that the Douluo—no, I mean the Sun Moon Continent—is the entire world."

Huo Yuhao nodded slightly and gave her soft cheek a playful pinch in return. "The world is far larger than it seems, Senior Sister. And among the countless worlds that exist, ours is just a tiny speck."

Meng Hongchen lifted her head and looked at him, thoughtful. "Countless worlds... You mentioned that before. The universe, stars, planets—so the world we live in is really just a big round ball floating in space?"

"Exactly. Do you want to know what lies beyond this world?"

Her eyes sparkled with wonder. "That sounds amazing. Yuhao, you're so strong. Do you think you can take us past the skies someday?"

"Of course," he replied, his gaze turning toward the azure sky outside the porthole, a confident smile rising to his face.

A full month passed as the fleet cut through the waves. Eventually, Huo Yuhao had no choice but to leave the cozy warmth of Meng Hongchen's embrace and report back to the captain's quarters.

There, he found Shi Dongsheng and the senior naval officers of the Sunshine with serious expressions on their faces.

Shi Dongsheng looked at him and said, "Sir, you should take a look. This is strange."

Huo Yuhao approached the soul tool detection screen and narrowed his eyes when he saw the data. His brow lifted in mild surprise. "What is this?"

Shi Dongsheng nodded gravely. "As you can see, roughly three hundred nautical miles ahead of our fleet, there's an energy signature of extreme magnitude." He pointed at the screen, indicating a large dark blue dot. "At first, I thought it might be a system malfunction. The reading is simply too absurd."

Staring at the dot, Huo Yuhao muttered, "What kind of existence could generate this level of soul power..."

Shi Dongsheng swallowed hard and shook his head. "This is beyond the threshold of a Savage Beast. It's undoubtedly at least at the level of a Soul Douluo—or possibly far beyond even that."

Huo Yuhao nodded lightly, his expression calm and composed. "A million-year soul beast, then?"

His words exploded like thunder in the captain's quarters.

"A-a million-year soul beast?!"

"That's impossible!"

"Dear heavens..."

Shi Dongsheng looked visibly shaken. "My lord... could such a thing really exist? A million-year-old soul beast would be on a level surpassing even Rank 99 Limit Douluos..."

Seeing their panic, Huo Yuhao smiled calmly. "There's no need to panic, Commander Shi. Unlike humans, soul beasts are forever constrained by the rules of this world. No matter how long they live, unless they transcend entirely, they will always be beneath the gods. They are not unbeatable. Don't forget, ten thousand years ago, the Deep Sea Devil Whale King—a million-year beast—was slain by Sea God Tang San, who was only a Super Douluo at the time."

His steady reassurance finally calmed the nerves in the room, though some lingering anxiety remained.

"Even so," another officer said, "can our fleet really handle such a being? When we constructed the warships, the soul guidance shields were designed to withstand attacks only at the level of a Limit Douluo. If that thing is a true peak-level existence... a single hit might be enough to breach the shields. And worse, it's unlikely to be alone. A million-year soul beast would surely command other high-level marine beasts—some of them over 100,000 years old at the very least."

Huo Yuhao shrugged. "Relax. According to the detector, that creature is still stationary, about three hundred miles away. It hasn't noticed us yet. If we act quickly, we can steer the fleet away before it's too late."

Shi Dongsheng nodded and saluted respectfully. "Understood, Sir." He turned around and immediately began issuing orders to the other senior officers to change course.

As the flurry of orders filled the room, Huo Yuhao stood silently to the side, deep in thought.

'If that really is a million-year soul beast... then could it be... that one?'
