As someone who had read the original story, Huo Yuhao naturally knew about the terrifying existence known as the "Demon Empress." Ten thousand years into the future, she would rise as the supreme leader of the Holy Spirit Cult—an unparalleled, unprecedented, and godless Rank 100 being born from pure hatred and malice.
The true form of the Demon Empress was a million-year-old sea soul beast—the Deep Sea Demonic Whale King. She was the mate of the original Deep Sea Demonic Whale King, the one who had been slain by Tang San ten millennia ago. Her husband's death had driven her into reclusive cultivation. Swearing vengeance, she committed herself to destroying all of humanity, and in the process, broke through to the fabled hundredth level.
If it hadn't been for the restrictions placed on soul beasts by this world and the God Realm that denied them access to godhood, the Demon Empress might have long since ascended. And had the God Realm not vanished due to spatial turbulence ten thousand years later, her rise to true godhood would have been inevitable.
Now, the Sun Moon Empire's fleet had sailed far beyond the known borders of the Sun Moon Continent, reaching an uncharted region of the vast ocean. If they really encountered the Deep Sea Demonic Whale King here... it wouldn't be a coincidence, just destiny.
Thinking of this possibility, Huo Yuhao couldn't help but let out a bitter chuckle.
'Could fate really be this cruelly precise?'
He didn't know when exactly the Demon Empress had begun her secluded cultivation. If she was still meditating deep beneath the sea, all would be well. But if she had already emerged...
And if she were to detect the imposing advance of this massive human fleet—one that represented the peak of Sun Moon Empire's might—given her boundless hatred for mankind, would she ever allow them to leave unscathed?
A devastating battle would be unavoidable.
At present, the strongest entity within the entire Sun Moon Fleet was the Snow Empress, who existed as Huo Yuhao's spirit soul.
Thankfully, the Demon Empress had only broken through the hundredth level using the Blood River Godslayer Formation. Her power, at most, would currently match that of a peak Rank 99 Evil Soul Master—what the world called an Extreme Peak Douluo.
A being of that level, though terrifying, was not unmatchable. The Snow Empress, herself a peerless being at the same level, could contend with her.
And so, Huo Yuhao decided to share all the intelligence he had about the Demon Empress with the Snow Empress.
"Snow Empress, do you think you can handle her?" he asked gently, his tone full of concern.
Inside their shared spiritual world, the Snow Empress frowned slightly. After some thought, she nodded slowly, though a trace of hesitation lingered in her eyes.
"The Deep Sea Demonic Whale King… It's not surprising that such a powerful sea soul beast could exist in these depths. But to have turned into an Evil Soul Master? That's where things become tricky. I won't say it's impossible. However, if it comes to a real battle, I can't guarantee an easy victory. I might even lose. The aftermath of such a fight—our energy shocks alone—could easily overwhelm the defensive shields protecting your fleet."
"Don't worry about the shockwaves," Huo Yuhao replied calmly. "As long as we keep our distance, the fleet should be safe."
Snow Empress still looked uneasy.
"In that case… I think it's best we avoid her altogether. I'll be honest—I don't have complete confidence in beating her. And if I lose, the spiritual contract linking me to you will backfire. You, Tianmeng, Bingbing, even Elder Yi—you'd all suffer the consequences."
For the first time, the proud Empress of the Extreme North showed hesitation. It wasn't that she had become timid. It was simply that she now had people she cared about.
Huo Yuhao understood.
"Thank you, Snow Empress. I understand," he said sincerely. "We'll proceed cautiously. But if she finds us and forces a battle, we'll have no choice. Judging from what I know of her, her hatred for humanity is absolute. That said... don't worry too much. If it comes to a fight, I have complete confidence we'll win."
"You'll help?" Snow Empress raised a skeptical brow. "Yuhao, you're still far from our level. Don't act recklessly. I won't allow you to endanger yourself."
"I won't," Huo Yuhao smiled. "You know me better than that. Don't forget—I'm the chosen heir of the Creation and Destruction Gods. My cultivation is no longer something that can be measured by mere soul power levels."
Then, his lips curled upward. "Besides, Snow Empress, I have a bold plan."
Far from the turning fleet, in the crushing darkness of the deep sea, a beautiful, curvaceous woman sat cross-legged, completely nude. Her skin was etched with dark purple runes, and she radiated an eerie presence. Her face was serene—until she abruptly opened her eyes.
Those eyes were a haunting shade of violet, filled with malevolence. Deep within her pupils, fury ignited like a storm.
"What existence… dares to disturb my cultivation?"
Her voice carried across the ocean, slicing through water as if it were air. Even the sea itself seemed to shudder.
Then, her pupils narrowed sharply. In the blink of an eye, her terrifying spiritual sense locked onto the fleet more than three hundred nautical miles away. It took her but a moment to perceive the full picture.
Thousands of humans. Dozens of colossal metallic beasts—ships. An armada.
She didn't know what these floating steel monsters were. But she recognized the presence of humans. Many of them.
"Humans..."
Her features twisted into a grotesque snarl. Her eyes glowed brighter, and black flames of hatred flickered within her pupils.
"Has humanity become this arrogant while I was gone? You dare trespass... into my sea?"
Without warning, her body vanished from the ocean floor and reappeared in the sky above the waves.
From above, she stared into the distance, eyes locked on the still-invisible Sun Moon Fleet.
"Today, I'll show you who truly rules these seas!"
Back aboard the fleet, the Snow Empress stared wide-eyed at Huo Yuhao, her expression frozen in shock.
"You're serious? You want to make her your spirit soul?"
Snow Empress nearly called him insane, but she held back. This was Huo Yuhao. He never did anything without a plan. And he had already achieved countless miracles.
"I'm completely serious," Huo Yuhao replied firmly.
The Snow Empress sighed deeply.
"But... she's a million-year soul beast. Even if you can bear her cultivation and endure the darkness in her soul, how would you convince her to submit? I chose to become your spirit soul willingly. But her…"
Huo Yuhao looked at her expression and couldn't help but feel something stir.
'Is Snow Empress… jealous?'
Of course, he knew she was just concerned for him. But after being together for so long, he couldn't help but notice the subtle shift in her demeanor.
He chuckled softly.
'No matter how this turns out, one thing's certain—it's going to shake the world.'
