BOOM!
With a sharp sonic boom, a violent gust of wind blasted across the group.
Everyone blinked—
and Alex's figure appeared out of thin air.
"Alex, how is it?"
Harrison Wells stared anxiously at Alex, almost holding his breath.
BOOM!
Another thunderous sound.
Barry Allen appeared beside them in a flash of red lightning.
"Zoom has been defeated!"
"Alex beat Zoom!"
Barry announced, excitement overflowing.
Even though the massive speed gap had bruised Barry's ego…
The fact that their greatest enemy had been crushed still made him ecstatic.
"Hell yes!"
"That's amazing!"
Cisco and Caitlin slapped their thighs, eyes sparkling.
"But Alex—did you just let Zoom escape?"
Wells quickly calmed down, eyes narrowing as he stared at Alex.
"If I don't let him go, how would we find where he's keeping your daughter?"
Alex said casually.
"But don't worry. I promised to save her. I keep my word."
Only then did Wells finally exhale.
"So what do we do next?"
Cisco asked, staring at Alex. "Did you plant a tracker on Zoom? Or something like that?"
Otherwise, why let the enemy run?
"Of course."
Alex nodded—completely serious.
In truth…
He hadn't placed anything.
But with his super-senses, the moment he locked onto Zoom once, Zoom would never escape his awareness again.
And indeed—Alex focused his senses…
And found him immediately.
"Let's go. I know where your daughter is, Doctor."
A hint of amusement tugged at Alex's lips.
Zoom, devastated after the chase, had returned to his hidden base.
Inside were two prisoners.
One perfectly matched the description Wells had given.
No doubt—it was their target.
Since Alex claimed certainty, Wells chose to believe him.
To them, Alex was a bottomless abyss.
A being who could do anything.
---
They moved as a group, following Alex.
Eventually they arrived at an abandoned industrial site in the outskirts.
"She's inside."
Alex strode in.
BOOM!
A blue streak of lightning exploded into view.
Zoom stood before them, masked and furious.
Seeing Alex and Wells together, his expression contorted in shock and fury.
"Alex… Why are you with Wells?"
His tone trembled with suppressed rage.
"You tell me."
Alex raised an eyebrow, smiling with pure disdain.
"Alex, don't push me!"
Zoom snapped.
"I won't let you succeed!"
BOOM!
He vanished instantly.
BOOM!
A red flash followed—Barry chasing him without hesitation.
"Zoom! Don't you dare—!"
Barry's shout echoed through the corridor.
Wells' heart clenched.
He bolted forward without thinking.
His eyes widened as he reached the main chamber.
Inside sat a filthy, rusted iron cage.
And inside it—
a teenage girl with a bruised but beautiful face.
His daughter.
Jesse.
But Zoom—
Zoom was gripping her by the throat.
"Harrison! You think just because you found Alex, you can save your daughter? How naïve!"
Zoom snarled.
"And you, Alex—if you don't leave NOW, I'll snap her neck!"
"Alex!"
Wells whispered, trembling.
All hope pinned on that one man.
"With me here… no one gets hurt."
Alex said lightly.
Then—
He raised his hand—
And made a gentle grasping motion in the air.
Zoom's body suddenly lifted off the ground.
"What—!? What did you do!"
Zoom howled in shock.
Alex had telekinesis?!
What kind of monster was this man?!
BOOM!
Alex said nothing.
He simply flung Zoom like a ragdoll.
The villain crashed into the floor with a bone-shaking thud.
"Jesse!"
Wells sprinted to the cage.
Barry, Cisco, and Caitlin rushed to help him pry it open.
"No!!"
Zoom burst upward—accelerating to intercept—
But every time he moved forward, Alex stepped calmly into his path.
Unmoving.
Immortal.
Unshakeable.
Zoom couldn't advance even a single step.
He could only watch—
Helpless—
As Wells pulled Jesse into his arms.
As the other captive was freed.
As everything Zoom had built collapsed in front of him.
"Zoom… I'm helping you."
Alex spoke as if giving advice to a child.
"Your speed hasn't improved because you're distracted by pointless things like this."
"Work hard. I'll be waiting for the day you surpass me."
Leaving those crushing words behind…
Alex walked out proudly with Wells, Jesse, and the rest.
Zoom remained alone in the ruined chamber.
Eyes trembling.
Jaw clenched.
Fists tightening until his gloves creaked.
He had always been the one tormenting others.
Never had anyone humiliated him.
Yes—right now he was slower.
But one day…
One day, he swore he would surpass Alex.
