Remembering the balm in her hand, Selina held it out to him. Zane lowered his gaze to her hand and noticed the ointment.
"What's this for? Are you injured? Where exactly?" he demanded, concern sharpening his gaze as he searched her for even the slightest wound.
Selina shook her head and pointed at his still-red, swollen cheek. "I'm not hurt; you're the one who is. Your cheek."
Zane's worried expression softened a bit, finding her caring side both amusing and endearing. He couldn't believe she was still thinking about him after what had happened.
He had expected her to be upset and harsh towards him.
He raised his hand, brushing his fingers across his cheek, which still stung with a harsh pain that refused to fade.
"It doesn't hurt much as long as you're still here with me," he said softly.
Selina could see how important this baby was to him and more important than she imagined.
