Selina escaped the main manor and made her way towards the mansion where she lived with Zane. Her heart was heavy with apologies and explanations she wanted to share with her sister. She stared at Clarissa's contact, saved with a big heart emoji.
As she stumbled inside and lifted her gaze, it fell on the person she had been struggling to face.
"Clarissa," Selina whispered, her voice trembling slightly as she advanced further.
Clarissa didn't appear furious but heartbroken, her face reflecting the weight of so many unsaid words.
"Selina, when you asked me why I didn't tell you about Zane being the boy I liked, it was because I've seen how hurt and lonely he was when he lost his parents. Telling you more about him felt like betraying my promise to him because he hates the past being mentioned," Clarissa muttered, her eyes welling with tears locked onto Selina.
