"Annabelle," she whispered, watching her approach. "You're supposed to be in the office. Why are you roaming around?"
Selina swallowed hard as Annabelle's gaze flicked between her and Zane.
Annabelle looked so stunned she couldn't form proper words—and the longer she stared, the more Zane seemed to tug at some distant memory of hers.
Zane tilted his head slightly, narrowing his eyes in cool assessment.
"I'm thinking about those amber eyes… features… and that cold, mysterious aura. Everything feels too familiar. Where have I seen you?" She waved a hand vaguely across his face.
"Seems you do look familiar too," he muttered.
Annabelle's eyes lit up with recognition after a brief scrutiny. "You went to Autumn University, didn't you? One of the popular basketball players—eight years ago, the Wolves team?"
