Chapter 8 - Chapter 8 - Night Vision | Crystallized Mana | Mana Potion 4

After renting a bicycle for 15 WIN for one hour, and seeing the frustration on the stingy old man's face, he deserved it. Normally, one can rent a bicycle for 10 WIN for one hour. And, when I heard the old man say "50 WIN for an hour", I was baffled. Just because the way to the waterfall was far didn't mean you could suck people dry of all their money. All and all, the stingy old man deserved to get his shop put in the ground, unless he somewhat lowered the price at least 40 or 50% from his insanely expensive prices. Well, that had nothing to do with me since I got what I wanted.

"Take whichever one you want."

The old man said, still frustrated.

I checked all the bicycles, and chose a blue colored one, since it looked good, and was in great shape. I didn't pick any safety gears because it was going to cost me more, so I just laid off the safety gears, and chose a bicycle since that was the only necessary thing I needed at the moment.

I took out the blue colored bicycle, and took it outside the shop. But before the door could close completely, I said, "Alright old man, I'll be back in an hour", I sat on the bicycle, and took off, and before I could hear anything what the old man said, the glass door closed, and I was now too far to even attempt to listen to the old man.

With my body now being five times stronger than my previous self, I had no problem getting to the waterfall as fast as I normally couldn't, considering I never worked-out in my previous life.

The way to the waterfall was one hour by walk, two hours if you include the sightseeing. At maximum, it would take me fifteen to twenty minutes with a bicycle, and my stronger body, otherwise I would've been stuck walking like those tourists.

On my way to the waterfall, I saw those tourists who didn't walk that far away.

After hearing the noise of moving tires, they turned around, and saw me riding one of those old man's bicycles. I naturally avoided eye contact because I didn't want them to know how I got it in the first place.

I rode past them, ignoring them as if they weren't even there.

After fifteen minutes of riding the bicycle to the Waterfall Valley's waterfall, I stopped, and leaned the bicycle to a nearby tree. I saw the waterfall's water coming down with incredible speed, and pressure. It was like a stream of river, how the water kept coming down, and going straight.

I watched the waterfall for a few seconds, before going to my main target. The target was not the waterfall, but what was hidden behind it. Yes, a cave. A cave hidden behind, and by the waterfall's curtains, that was my true target. That was the cave Wisdom sensed mana from.

I walked towards the entrance of the cave, and immediately got drenched by the ongoing waterfall before entering in the cave.

It was dark inside, some of the light passed through the water, but it was still dark inside.

With nothing to lighten up the cave, I kept going forward. Hoping that I don't hit a rock, and injure myself. I used the cave's inner walls as support. I kept going as I took ten steps forward. Even with the support of the wall, it was still very hard to navigate inside the cave. And as I feared, it happened. I hit my right toe on a hard rock.

"Oww"

I expressed my pain. It wasn't much, but it still felt painful. And on the toe no less. Still hard hitting your toe is one of the worst, and feelings ever.

[ Are you all right, Master ]

"I hit my toe, but I think I'll be fine as long as I walk carefully, and not hit anything in this darkness."

I said, stopping in my tracks.

"On top of hitting my toe, I can't even see anything in this darkness!"

I added, complaining about not being able to see in the dark.

[ … ]

After hearing my complaints, Wisdom got quite all of a sudden.

"Hey Wisdom, you there?"

I asked, but didn't receive any response.

After staying quiet for a whole twenty seconds, Wisdom spoke.

[ It is done ]

Not understanding what Wisdom meant, I asked, "Done what?"

[ Please say "Night Vision: Activate" ]

"I don't know what you mean, but okay."

I said, and agreed to Wisdom's words.

"Night Vision: Activate"

As soon as I said those words, everything became clearer, visible. I could see in the dark. In the cave that was filled with darkness. I could see in the darkness as if it was bright as day.

At this moment, I was starting to realize the true extent of Wisdom's power. The meaning of Wisdom.

Now, I had no problem walking in the dark since it became as bright as day thanks to Night Vision.

I began walking forward, and noticed something shining brightly even through the Night Vision.

I came closer, and saw hundreds of white stones emitting mana.

As soon as I saw those white stones, Wisdom spoke,

[ We have finally found it ]

[ Crystallized Mana detected ]

Yes, it was indeed Crystallized Mana. With them shining brightly, and their unique white color, anyone would be able to tell that these aren't any ordinary stones.

"Alright! Let's get as many as we can, and leave!"

I said, with an expression of happiness as visible as the sun.

[ You must remove them carefully, and leave some behind ]

[ Grab a solid piece of rock, and hit it at it's root, the bottom, of the Crystallized Mana ]

Just as Wisdom said, I began removing them from their roots, the bottom.

One after another, I removed half of them. And leaving the other half behind.

I then gathered them together in one place.

"Shadow Swallow"

They didn't go into my shadow directly like before with the snake. This time, my shadow extended towards them, like darkness that came to swallow light.

And, all the Crystallized Mana that I gathered, disappeared into my shadow.

I was still a little bit drenched, but I hurried back to the old man's shop because the time I had left was very short.

I had fifteen minutes left, but I arrived to the shop in ten minutes. I was panting because of how fast I came back. And my clothes completely dried as a result. I was afraid my hoodie would stay wet the entire time until I got home, but thank goodness that it didn't.

I was also afraid the same thing might happen to my cell phone, so I just left it with the bicycle. I was afraid it might get stolen, but thankfully it didn't.

I gave the old man his bicycle back, and went to the bus stop.

Thankfully a bus was already there so I didn't had to wait for another one. I quickly went into, and sat in one of the seats on the window side.

In a couple of hours, I arrived at my hometown bus stop. And quickly walked home. I was home before dinner, and my mom was not pissed.

I greeted my mom, and went straight to my room to plan my next course of action for the remaining ingredients: Magic Stones, Blood of a Wormhole Portal monster.
