In an inn room, Nolan carefully laid Seira on the bed.
Once he made sure she was comfortable, he crossed his arms over his chest and asked in a deep voice, "So… what really happened to you, Sister? Why would you go to a place like that?"
Seira was a highly rational woman; she would never risk herself in a dangerous place for women, like a bar. This was the first time Nolan had seen her act so recklessly.
Of course, he was aware of the trouble Seira had gotten into, but he had to pretend otherwise so she would open up to him about her problems.
Seira pursed her lips in dissatisfaction. "It's because of the arranged marriage my mother set up," she said.
"An arranged marriage?" Nolan feigned surprise. "What happened? Why didn't I know about it?"
Seira glanced at him, trying to figure out if he really didn't know or was just pretending. Once she was convinced he was being honest, she relaxed and began telling him everything.
