REGGIE'S POV
I watched as their faces got filled with terror. They were both frightened by my presence and that was the reaction I wanted.
To see them frightened and scared of me.
Days ago, I was the one in their shoes. I was scared and would always look down when they were talking to me. They always look down on me and made me to hide under the shadows.
Who knew the hands would turn on them someday.
"What… what are you taking about?" Stephanie asked and laughed nervously. "Stop… stop joking."
I stared at her for a few seconds before I averted my gaze back to Ben who was trying to remain calm even though deep down, I could sense his fears. He was scared.
I imagined myself on a tree branch and in the next second, it happened. I was seating on a tree branch, much to their horror.
Stephanie half yelled and held Ben tight, while Ben moved back in fright.
I was still able to imagine things and make it happen because I was controlling them from my world. Physically, I was with them, but my spirit was in my world.
"How… how did you… how did… do that?" Stephanie shuttered. I enjoyed seeing her so frightened. It brought a feeling to my soul that I couldn't explain, but I knew it was excitement or a word better than excitement.
Ben suddenly stretched his hands towards me and pointed his blazing arrow, ready to shoot, but Notorious jaw appeared behind him and twisted his hand, redirecting the arrow to a different location. Stephanie screamed and ran away.
Ben tried to turn and face Notorious jaw but he got blasted in his face with little blocks of ice, and a yelp escaped his lips.
I crossed my legs, enjoying the little show happening. I wish I had popcorn or fries, it wou have made it better.
Notorious jaw held Ben's hands up with one hand, and a shield of ice formed around his other hand which he punch Ben with. Because of the energy I gave to notorious jaw, his ability was more powerful, but would soon be mine anyway. It was just undergoing through a test and I love it already.
Notorious jaw punched Ben severally and when he finally stopped, Ben sprouted blood out from his mouth and fell his head, panting heavily.
I let out a deep breath and jumped down the tree. "That's enough, Notorious jaw."
Even though I was enjoying every bit of it, I realized what I was doing. Ben was already weak and wouldn't be able to defend himself. I would be just like him if I allow notorious jaw to keep hitting him while weak: a bully.
"Get this over with. You still have to avenge yourself," I said with disappointment lacing my voice. "He is weak, but I won't be a bully like him."
Notorious jaw immediately let go of Ben and he fell down, groaning in pain. I let out a sigh and turned back walking away. Slowly, Ben's energy began to disperse. Notorious jaw had killed him.
The strong scent of his energy suddenly took over. It was like the aroma of my favorite meal after a long day of being hungry. I turned back to look at what was going on, but the sound of gun shots echoed in the forest and Notorious jaw fell down, dead.
I vanished immediately and reappeared in the ghoul's territory. That officer, Dianne, was the one who had shot the gun. I narrowed my brows in annoyance, being derived of that energy.
"Why were there soldiers? They shouldn't be there until the missions are over," I asked, trying to calm down.
"What are you going to do now, master?" Maki asked standing beside me.
I let out a deep breath and stood up. "They won't stop me. I will go get the souls," I answered and faced him. "Freeze them all."
...
"Are all of them dead?" Dianne asked, looking at the bodies on the floor. They weren't like normal dead bodies killed by humans. They had all turned rotten, making it seem as if they were dead for a very long time.
Their mouths were opened and their eyes were empty.
"Do you think a human did this?" One of the curious soldier asked.
Dianne shook her head and crossed her arms against her full bosoms. "No," she simple answered. "This is not the doing of a human. Although I am not sure what kind of creature had done this, but whatever it is, it must have sucked out their life."
She let out a deep breath and faced her officers. "Let's get this report to the zonal headquarters. They might know something of any creature that must have done this harm."
She looked around again. "Only Stephanie Yu is alive and Reggie. But where did Reggie Scott go?" She asked, using her eyes to search for his body, but didn't find him.
Suddenly, the wind froze, so did everyone. It was silent and the atmosphere became chilly.
Reggie walked past the frozen soldiers and got closer to the bodies of Notorious jaw, Ben and Kelly. Their bodies had taken a different form and their souls were hanging in the air. Their souls had somehow left their bodies, waiting for him to consume them.
Reggie shut his eyes and all at once, their souls penetrated into his and his eyes turned bright blue. He let out a deep breath, feeling so satisfied and fulfilled. It felt like he had satisfied a hundred years hunger and was back to normal.
His eyes went back to normal and he averted his gaze to Dianne, who was frozen as the others. "You are smart and you are probably the next."
"She has the ability of navigation. Her power wil be useful to you," Maki whspered in his head.
"Not now, Maki. She haven't done anything to deserve death from me. I will keep watching her and one day, her ability would be mine," he answered and vanished. Everything and everyone fell back in place.
"Why is the weather so cold?" One of the soldiers asked, rubbing his hands together.
Dianne looked around and drew her bows together. "What just happened?" She asked.
"What is it, lieutenant?"
"It felt as if-" she paused and looked at her soldier. "We were frozen and I heard a voice." She looked around again and faced her soldiers. "Find Reggie Scott, now!"
