I need to send Gandhi to Pakistan.
In my previous world, when Pakistan was attacking India, a war was fresh, Gandhi went on a fast unto death if the Indian government didn't give Pakistan the money that it was supposed to get from RBI.
A massive total of 55 crore INR.
Nehru should have just ignored this old man's delusional 'righteousness'.
Even Lord Krishna cheated in Mahabharat by making it seem like night has fell to get rid of evil.
Not giving money to a fascist genocidal terrorist state is a righteous thing. Even in the first war, they used terrorists to invade Jammu and Kashmir.
And Nehru government agreed to his blackmail.
This was the main reason Naturam Godse murdered him. If Nehru government ignored the delusional Gandhi, it wouldn't have happened.
But, I don't think Godse did the right thing. Gandhi needed to disappear from the political landscape, but by killing him, he immortalized Gandhi.
This was the reason I didn't assassinate Jinnah. Before WW2 ended, I didn't have the means. But after I became the interim PM in 1946, I could have gotten him assassinated.
But that would have had a very hellish consequence. A Civil War, and I wouldn't have survived. I would have probably gotten assassinated, and then who knows how long the Civil War would have happened and who would have became the leader later?
I didn't want a situation like Sri Lanka happening.
But I also didn't want a situation where things like Sharia, Waqf, child marriage, and other communal laws would exist.
That's why I had to agree to the creation of Pakistan.
If I was as strong of a leader and as influential as Subhash Chandra Bose, it wouldn't have come to this at all.
But it's of no use to think about 'What If', since I am actually living the life of a 'What If'.
I need to send the security threat Gandhi, just like the extremists, to Pakistan.
He can't die in India.
Gandhi was against me becoming the PM and wanted Nehru to become, and he also tried to pressurize me a lot into giving up my nomination.
I will not listen to any of his demand, and he would die blackmailing me. Then, I would be driven out from Congress, and my position.
Moreover, many people in Congress are very much influenced by his ideology, so if I don't listen to his demand, even before his death, they might leave Congress and get against me.
So, my only choice is to send Gandhi to Pakistan. The extremists there will kill him, I have no doubt about it.
But instead of dying as a villain in my previous life, he would die as a hero.
Of course, if he actually retired and stopped interfering in things he has no knowledge and practical thinking about, it would be ideal.
But he isn't like that.
I agreed to meet with him when I wasn't that busy, and he started lecturing me.
"Krishna ji, what are you doing? India was supposed to be a secular country... You are driving away muslims. I request you to stop attacking their freedom and take back the announcement of take away their personal laws, and stop them migrating to Pakistan."
"Gandhi ji, it's because India is a secular country that every community needs to be treated the same and have same rights and responsibilities.
If Waqf is allowed to exist, why would a Hindu version of it not exist? Then the entire country will be under it.
And how can two separate set of laws be applied in the same country?
Didn't you yourself fought against Dr Ambedkar's stubbornness for separate electorates for Dalits?"
Which I agreed with Gandhi on that. Dr Ambedkar can be quite extreme. The Buddhism he called his following in my previous world was a lot like the religions he hated because they were formed on the basis of hatred. He openly called to discriminate against Brahmins. That's why his following is not considered Buddhism by the most.
Its ironic that by introducing caste based reservation, he immortalized caste system he was fighting so hard against.
Anyway, back to the conversation, before Gandhi could retort against my argument, I bowed in front of Gandhi and grabbed his feet.
"Please head to West Pakistan and convince people to have Pakistan rejoin India and stop violence. I have failed in keeping the country together. You are my last hope. And this is something only you can do."
"Get up! You are the Prime Minister, you shouldn't bow to anyone like this!"
That's quite an ironic sentence, since his goal was to do this from the beginning. Not physically, but blackmailing the country's PM into doing what he wants. He wanted everyone to bow to his ideology and thinking. Those who believe themselves to be always right are dangerous.
I kept bowing and touching his feet, refusing to let go no matter how his frail hands tried to get me up.
"Sorry, but unless you agree to help the country, I will continue being like this. Only you can do this."
Take that! Its not only you who can blackmail!
"...Fine. But-"
"If you suceed in this, I will definitely try to give more personal laws that they want. Though not evil practices like Child marriage, sibling and relative marriages and such.
Under no circumstances will evil practices be allowed to continue. Its my duty as the PM to ensure that everyone lives under the banner of equality."
"Alright. I will head to Pakistan. I will try my best."
