The sheer suddenness of the events caught the world by a storm.
Not only Gandhi ji was brutally murdered in Lahore, Pakistan, but on the same day, Pakistan invaded India as well.
Even Jinnah was surprised. He didn't give any order to Pakistani army! Because it was still under reorganization!
Actually, a batallion of Pakistan has acted on its own and invaded India, as a revenge for sending Gandhi into Pakistan.
The Indian army deployed near Lahore for overseeing the migration took action.
But the invading batallion was using civilians as human shields and firing at them and civilians from India's side.
Indian army didn't have any choice but to ignore the human shields and fire at the Pakistani soldiers.
It was the first time they were facing such a disgusting tactic.
"General, do we really have to shoot...?"
"What choice do we have!? They are shooting at us and our civilians. If we back down here now, they will think that this tactic works, and use the same tactic in all future conflicts!
We don't have the strength and numbers to rescue the hostages right now!"
The information reached Delhi, and I agreed to the general's thinking.
Terrorists take hostages because they believe they will reach higher ground using that.
There were too many plane hijackings before 9/11 in his previous life. Because pilots had to agree to terrorists' demands.
But after that, the pilots' cabins were secured so that no one can enter during hijacking, and negotiating with terrorists were stopped.
This terrorist tactic didn't disappear, but was reduced by a lot.
At the same time, Jinnah's call came, "Pakistan hasn't declared war! That batallion betrayed the country and acted on its own!"
'Oh? A military coup? This early? Is it really just a batallion or...?'
"How can we trust you?"
"I swear on Allah!"
Wow... as if that's gonna make me trust you.
Aurangzeb used the same tactic against his brother, and he is really idolized by the extremists. Pakistan used the same tactic when invading Balochistan as well.
"Alright. Issue an official statement first and control your army! Then only we will stop fighting! Don't expect us to stop fighting back!"
I called for a meeting, and sent more reinforcements on the Western front of Punjab, Rajasthan, and Gujarat regions. A major part of army is in Jammu and Kashmir already.
I also sent reinforcements towards the eastern border of West Bengal. It might be a tactic to decieve and attack from east while our focus is on western borders.
For now, the order was to defend to the army. To not enter into enemy territory even if we defeat the invaders.
On the other hand, I gave Navy a secret order.

(3rd PoV)
The rogue batallion finally surrendered after 5 days of firing and shelling.
Their leader was probably stupid, gaining the position through connections. He led the Invasion without much supplies, thinking that the Pakistani army from behind will take care of that.
Atleast 70 people died in the conflict.
The perpetrators were either killed or arrested by the Indian Army, who also lost many due to the surprise attack.
Jinnah sighed in relief as it didn't lead to war. Pakistan isn't ready yet. But he will have to ensure that he has complete control over military.
"Now, both sides should retreat from the borders."
"Yes Kumar ji. I swear on Allah that Pakistani Army will retreat. Please make Indian Army retreat as well."
And just an hour later, as both Pakistani and Indian Army was backing off, in Pakistan's current capital, Karachi, suddenly navy ships were attacked.
Jinnah froze as soon as he heard the intelligence.
Did he not trust him!?
Moreover, Indian army which was retreating much more slowly, started invading into Pakistani territory.
Both Karachi and Lahore were attacked at the same time.
Moreover, Muslim League's centre of origin in Dhaka was also bombed with fighter jets.
He had called back 90% of fighter jets into West Pakistan in case the conflict became big. India had more aircrafts afterall.
And he did not expect India to attack on East Bengal at all.
Didn't India care anything about its reputation!?
He was going to call for support, especially from UK and Portugal since Portugal is currently occupying parts of India, but his telephone wasn't working!
There is a traitor on the inside!
He then heard that someone set fire on the telephone cables that went towards UK.
Jinnah, furious, went on the radio and screamed, "It's an all out war!"
