RAIN POV
I felt the world tilt the moment the first line broke.
The corrupted Uldar fell on us like a wave of black iron — molten weapons screaming on the air, sparks cutting the moonlight. They came in numbers meant to drown. Our pack met them with teeth and steel, but I wasn't allowed in the first breach. Seraphina had ordered it herself: "You must not exhaust yourself, Rain. Save every spark. You'll need it for what's coming."
So Seraphina and her sisters took the front, and my fighters with them. The Veyari witches stepped into the moonlight and the full-moon magic poured from them like tidewater. They spoke the old names in voices that shook the leaves. The ground answered.
