Brandon's POV
Warm air hit my face the moment I walked into my room that night. Everything looked exactly the same and somehow completely different. The walls, the shelves, the guitar leaning lazily on my bed—this room had been my quiet hiding place for years, but tonight it stared back at me like a stranger trying to remember my name.
Moonlight slipped through the half-drawn drapes, cutting silver across the floor. A soft glow rested on the bed… right on top of my guitar.
That was when I saw it.
The envelope.
The one Chloe left for me.
A smile tugged at my lips before I even reached it. I crossed the room in a few quick strides, my heartbeat picking up for a reason I refused to examine too closely. My fingers brushed the flap and I felt that stupid grin spread wider across my face.
I opened it.
Two movie tickets slid into my palm.
