Universe 6, Realm of the Gods of Destruction.
Vados hummed a soft melody as she calmly watered the exotic celestial flora around the temple. Her movements were graceful, each step measured with divine poise as she tended to the plants that only bloomed in divine realms.
"Vados! Boil these two eggs for me!" shouted a plump purple figure barreling toward her it was none other than Champa, Universe 6's God of Destruction.
"Lord Champa," Vados said with a mild sigh, "you're only allowed one Dongdong Bird egg per year. Any more than that and the Dongdong Bird could go extinct. If that happens, there won't be any left for future meals."
"But Vados!" Champa whined, clutching two speckled eggs to his chest, drooling slightly. "They're too delicious! Just boil these two just this once!"
"Very well," Vados relented, pressing two fingers to her forehead.
With a flick of her scepter, a high-grade celestial egg-boiling contraption appeared, crafted from divine materials. She carefully placed the Dongdong Bird eggs inside, activated the timer with a touch of her staff, and flipped over an hourglass to keep track.
Time trickled slowly…
"Is it done yet? Vados?" Champa asked impatiently. He paced back and forth, his energy jittery. In less than ten minutes, he'd asked over a dozen times.
"It's ready, Lord Champa," Vados replied as the last grains of sand in the hourglass fell.
The moment she opened the egg-boiler, Champa seized the eggs, peeled the shells off with dexterity born of greed, and stuffed both into his mouth at once.
"Ahhh! So delicious!" Champa moaned in delight, savoring the rich, velvety yolk. "If only I could eat Dongdong Bird eggs every day…"
"Your weight-loss plan just failed again, Lord Champa," Vados commented dryly, arms crossed.
"Bah, whatever!" Champa waved it off, licking yolk from his fingers.
Suddenly, the atmosphere rippled as space bent, and from the swirling distortion emerged Whis and Li Xu, stepping through the dimensional veil.
"Whis? Li Xu? You're back again?" Vados blinked in mild surprise.
"Vados, long time no see!" Li Xu greeted warmly. It had been several years since his last visit to Universe 6, though for an Angel like Vados, that time was negligible.
"Vados, who the hell is he?" Champa barked, annoyed, eyes narrowing.
"He's from Universe 7, Lord Champa. He visited last time to gather the Super Dragon Balls," Vados explained, clearly amused by the rising tension.
"You what?! Vados, how could you let someone from Universe 7 take a Super Dragon Ball while I was away!" Champa exploded, fists clenched, face turning a darker shade of purple.
"Whis brought him, Lord Champa. It wasn't my doing," Vados replied, subtly shifting the blame.
"Whis! Did that lazy cat Beerus put you up to this?" Champa growled, glaring at Whis.
"Lord Champa, Lord Beerus is napping.he doesn't even know Li Xu is here," Whis replied, his tone light and teasing.
"You dare come and steal Super Dragon Balls while I'm asleep?! I should destroy you!" Champa shouted, eyes blazing.
Without warning, he raised a finger and formed a dense, glowing ki sphere, hurling it at Li Xu.
Sensing intense danger, Li Xu instinctively transformed into Super Saiyan 4, his body engulfed in crimson energy and dark fur. He caught the energy sphere with both hands but was forced backward, his boots carving deep furrows in the stone floor.
"Break!" Li Xu roared, hurling the energy sphere back into the sky.
BOOM!
The ki bomb detonated midair with a massive shockwave.
"Huh? He actually blocked that?" Champa muttered, surprised. It had been a casual flick of power, but even so, few mortals in Universe 6 could withstand it.
"So this is the power of a God of Destruction…" Li Xu's brow furrowed. Despite his 40 trillion combat power, it had taken all his strength to repel even a non-serious blow.
"Impressive growth," Vados noted, visibly intrigued. "In just a few years, his power has increased exponentially."
"Don't get cocky! You've really made me mad now I'll erase you!" Champa bellowed, and this time, his intent was serious.
"Too fast!" Li Xu gasped. Before he could react, Champa had already appeared in front of him.
With a simple flick of his finger, laced with destructive energy, Champa sent Li Xu hurtling through the air like a cannonball.
"The gap is too wide..." Li Xu muttered, gritting his teeth in frustration.
After achieving Super Saiyan 4, he had believed that even if he couldn't defeat a God of Destruction, he should at least be able to contend with one briefly. But now, it was clear his assumptions had been too optimistic the true power of a God of Destruction was far beyond what he had imagined.
Boom!
Li Xu's body was sent skidding across the tiled divine courtyard, his heels digging a deep trench into the ground as he tumbled backward before regaining his footing at the edge of a cliff.
"Li Xu!" Bulma cried out from the sidelines, her voice trembling with worry.
No. 18's expression tightened, arms folded, her concern hidden behind a stern exterior, but her clenched fists gave her away.
"Damn it!"
Flaring his aura, Li Xu activated the Law of Force and Counterforce, a unique martial comprehension he'd gained through grueling cosmic battles. His energy skyrocketed tripling his base combat power and pushing it to 160 trillion.
In a burst of speed, Li Xu vanished from view and reappeared right in front of Champa, his fist aiming for the destroyer's face.
But just as his punch was about to connect, Champa effortlessly blinked out of view, reappearing behind Li Xu as if space itself bent to his will. Sensing the shift, Li Xu twisted his torso mid-air, raising his arms to guard.
BOOM!
Champa's punch landed squarely on his guard. The sheer impact sent Li Xu flying again, crashing through several floating islets before he stabilized mid-air. His arms were numb, his muscles trembling uncontrollably from the shock.
"You're still improving... but you've gone too far." Champa's voice echoed with cold fury. "For that, I'll erase you!"
"If you give him a few more years, he might truly surpass a God of Destruction," Vados remarked, her expression a rare mix of intrigue and disbelief. Even among the mortals she had seen, Li Xu's growth rate was extraordinary.
"Let him taste the power of a God of Destruction," Whis said with a chuckle, "but don't let Lord Champa actually destroy him. If he does, the Supreme Kai of Time won't be happy."
"Supreme Kai of Time?" Vados tilted her head in curiosity.
"Look at the ring on his hand," Whis gestured.
Vados's eyes narrowed as she observed the glimmering Time Patrol ring around Li Xu's finger.
"I see. So he's now part of the Reserve Time and Space Patrol." She nodded slightly, then raised her staff but Whis extended his hand to stop her.
"Wait, sister. I think he's hiding something more. His energy signature hasn't peaked yet," Whis said calmly.
"There's more?" Vados blinked, her staff lowering slightly. As she looked at Li Xu again, her usually composed eyes sparkled with anticipation.
"It looks like I'll have to use that," Li Xu muttered inwardly, his aura beginning to compress tightly around him. His fighting spirit burned like wildfire.
Now that he had the protection of the Time Patrol, he wasn't afraid of dying here. In fact, fighting someone of Champa's caliber was the challenge he craved the crucible he needed to evolve further.
Calmly, Li Xu let his Super Saiyan 4 form dissolve, the red fur fading, his wild black hair returning to normal. His breathing steadied.
"Oh? Giving up already?" Champa sneered, folding his arms. "That's the smartest thing you've done all day."
