Eve POV
Okay, so let's get this straight—
We've got one massive dragon, three giant eggs (each one bigger than me, mind you), and one very furious vampire currently on his way up the damn mountain. Perfect. Just perfect.
If this isn't the definition of a death wish, I don't know what is.
Lucius was coming. And not in his usual broody immortal with control issues kind of way—no, this was the I'm-going-to-tear-your-heart-out-and-serve-it-on-a-silver-platter kind of furious. I could practically feel the rage radiating from miles away, crawling up the mountain like smoke from hell.
And why was he furious, you ask?
Oh, right. Because I lied to him.
I told him—swore to him—that I'd spare the vampires. That I wouldn't touch his precious species when I cast the curse. That I'd only go after the wolves who hunted us and the witches who betrayed me.
Yeah… that was a lie.
