As Logan was laying on the ground in pain from the fall, a giant piece of concrete was about to land on him.
I was going to blast it to pieces, but before I could, Gambit showed up and blasted it to smithereens.
Gambit smiled smugly as he looked at Logan.
"You miss me?" He asked jokingly.
"Ah jesus." Logan replied annoyed.
"Y'know when you said you were going to kill everyone, I thought you might've been exaggerating." Gambit commented as he helped Logan up.
"Do I look like a man who exaggerates?" Logan asked back.
"You're welcome." He replied with a smile then looks at me.
"Who's the kid?"
"Kid? I resent that. You're probably only a few years older than me." I commented off-handedly.
Logan paused and turned around, seemingly thinking about something.
He turned back to Gambit and said quickly
"There's kids trying to get off the island! Split up. Go." Logan said.
"I'm on it." Gambit replied as he ran off.
Logan turned to me.
"You should go with him." He suggested as he knew he couldn't force me.
"I heard her too, and her sister wouldn't want her to die, let's go!" I said already planning to make some major changes to the timeline.
"Fine." Logan said with a growl as he ran in the direction her voice came from as I followed.
We then saw Kayla trying to crawl towards Logan and she was clearly dying.
I had debated whether I should heal her or not, especially since she died for pretty much no reason in the movie.
I almost decided to keep Logan from losing his memories, but I knew it'd be crucial for his development as both a hero and a person.
The same can be said for why I'm going to keep Striker alive, at least until the future when I'll kill him.
Even though he will live, I won't leave him unscathed.
Logan picked up Kayla and he started to walk off, but he then was shot from behind and when he fell, he turned and saw Striker and he saw him shoot Kayla in the stomach.
In a fit of rage at the love of his life being shot, he ran after Striker.
"Logan! Wait! I can heal her!" I shouted at him but he was consumed by his rage and relentlessly pursued Striker as the Colonel ran away in fear like the coward he is.
I ignored Logan for the time being as I knew I couldn't stop him, and save Kayla at the same time.
I put my focus on healing Kayla and a bright white light enveloped her and the wound in her side she got from the bullets while trying to save her sister, as well as the bullet wound from Striker just now, were being healed in real time, taking more than a few minutes as I wasn't proficient in healing others quite yet.
I then heard a roar and saw Logan lunging from a high rock and saw him get shot in the head, Striker then shot him in the head again and walked towards Kayla and I.
"Hmm, so you can also heal others, I will be sure to do plenty of tests to see your limits. From this moment, as well as what you showed against Weapon XI, I know there is much you have to show us." Striker said smugly.
*scoffs*
"That's a lot of confidence from a simple human." I replied with the tone of someone who is annoyed at dealing with something beneath them.
*Bang*
*Bang*
Two shots rang out and he saw a light shield appear in front of me.
"Man, you really thought that would work? Is that where all your confidence came from, a gun? You're exactly the way I belived you were, a coward." I said with a lot of venom in my voice.
He got angry and raised his gun again until suddenly...
*Slash*
"AGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Striker screamed in pain as his entire right arm up to his shoulder was cut off with a light sword.
I stood up and stood over his bleeding body as I watched him writhe in pain.
"You fear the power of my race, and you're right to. You are completely, hilariously outgunned so you latch onto any possible way to even the odds. But, you using mutants or our abilities to do that, just shows how little power you truly have. You now have a lasting impression of the power my race can inflict upon yours." I said with a manic glint in my eyes.
"Andrew!?!" Kayla, having woken up recently, said as she placed a concerned hand on my shoulder.
I paused as I snapped out of whatever trance I seemed to be in.
"I'm sorry Kayla, I let my anger get the best of me." I said.
"Andrew, you were tortured by this man for 9 years, I'm surprised you even held back." Kayla replied her face one of understanding.
I then saw that Striker was bleeding out so with a sadistic grin, I walked over to him.
"Oh no, you might bleed out, well I can't let you die." I said in mock concern as I channeled light into my hand.
I made the light be hot like a lazer and slowly cauterized his wound, Striker screaming all the while until he passed out from pain.
We both then looked over at Logan's unmoving body and Kayla, now fully healed, rushed over to him.
I followed her and we both saw two bullet wounds in his head.
"He's dead?!" Kayla said as ger eyes started to tear up.
I stopped her and pointed at his head.
"No, look! He is healing, slowly but surely" I explained.
Kayla perked up at the new knowledge, but I had to quickly douse her enthusiasm.
"Kayla, I'm sorry to say this, but I heard Striker talking about Logan. He shot him with Adamantium bullets. They were the only thing that could pierce Logan's skeleton, but there is a cruel side effect." I explained.
She nodded and looked at me as if waiting for me to continue.
"The side effect will erase every memory except his basic memories like how to breath, and the like. While I may have saved you from death, the man you love will have no memory of you. Can you live with that." I asked seriously.
"Yes." She answered without hesitation.
"And I will do everything I can to help him regain his memories." She said resolutely.
As she was speaking, we heard movement coming from where Striker was getting up and Kayla walked over to him and grabbed his arm fiercely and said with a certain amount of satisfaction.
"Turn around, walk until your feet bleed, then keep walking."
"Not bad, I said as I saw him stare blankly as he turned around and started walking.
Then we heard Logan moving and seemingly waking up and after about a minute he sat up and looked around in confusion wondering where he was.
He grabbed his dog tag and saw it said Logan, Wolverine.
Kayla and I walked up to him, Kayla taking great caution as he could react like a cornered animal.
"Logan! It's me Kayla, do you remember me?" She asked.
"You know me?" He asked as she had said his name.
"Yes, I can explain everything to you later, but right now we have to go." She replied with a smile as she held his hand.
I still don't know if it was a remenent of his memory of him loving her, or her Tacto-Hypnosis, but Logan nodded and let her direct him.
"She's right Logan, I said as I walked over, having been staying off to the side to give him a chance to recover.
"You know me too?" He asked.
"Yes, you helped a bunch of mutant kids escape this facility and I was one of them, we fought together to stop the experiment they had created here." I explained briefly.
"W-wait, what are you talking about?" He asked very confused.
"One thing at a time Andrew. We'll explain everything soon." Kayla said, first to me, then Logan.
Just then Gambit came running over.
"The kids are safe." Gambit said before looking at the Kayla and I confused as we both seemed to be annoyed.
We seemed annoyed, because we were. He had the worst timing, we were trying not to overwhelm Logan with too many things all at once.
"Just get on the plane, we'll explain once we get outta here." I said as I gestured to the plane behind us.
"Right." Gambit replied as we started to run to the plane.
