It's been 8 years since Andrew escaped that horrible prison and despite looking for years he never did find Emma and when he told Kayla she said she'd be surprised if he did.
After a few years, Kayla realized that she most likely wouldn't find her sister and she told Andrew that being a telepath, Emma could get help from anyone she could set her eyes on.

(Flashback)
"If even half of what you told me about what you experienced on the island is true, not only will my sister have a distrust of humans, it could even evolve into hatred and I have not been there to guide her like a sister should so she could be anywhere in the world, I just hope she's safe and that she didn't let herself be influenced."

Kayla had said this to me about 6 years ago and even though I never stopped hoping or looking for her, I knew that if things ended up the same way, I'd most likely find her with Shaw, but I didn't know where he was and knew that only in the future will I know exactly where he'd be.

I have been practicing extensively with my powers for the last 8 years and I am pretty sure I am one of the most powerful mutants on the planet.
I can do a lot that a green lantern could do but I believe that I have been able to be a lot more inventive with my abilities than most lanterns.
In order to both broaden my horizons and help me to come up with more ideas for my constructs, I explored outer space.
I have seen the environments on Venus, the closest planet in our solar system, as my flight speed has reached a little over Mach 5 while on earth by covering myself with my Lightforce Aura.
With my speed, It took a little over 3 months to reach Venus, and experimenting with my power allowed me to simply teleport back to earth where I left a marker. After that I practiced that aspect extensively and found that as long as I had been there before, I could telport there no problem by fueling the travel with my Lightforce, the longer I had to travel, the more energy it required.
I was still not super proficient with all the aspects of my power as I am very similar to a green lantern except my power has no energy limit like a normal Green Lantern ring as I am connected to,(essentially am) the lightforce itself.
The stronger my connection to the lightforce, the more I can do and while my connection is strong, I am still lower than the level of a green lantern at least in terms of my current capabilities, but my potential is light-years ahead.
If I concentrate hard enough, I can use my lightforce to alter matter on a molecular level, but I have a very basic grasp on this power, almost depressingly basic. I was only able to do very basic things like cause water to freeze or boil I could create a little fire, and even create ice from the water in the air. But, all this wasn't nearly as useful as my light constructs so I stuck with training those mostly.
As for the resident grumpy old man, he seems to have taken on the personality he had in the past but it is more like a pale imitation as he can never be exactly the same without his memories.
The upside is that he seems to have fallen in love with Kayla all over again and I was happy for them as I knew that Logan didn't have much luck in the relationship department as his only love in the movies, Jean, had never really looked twice at him.
But Kayla at this point, knew Logan better than he knew himself and she has been there to help explain the nightmares he has of his past memories as I believe his healing factor was able to eventually heal his memories in the future. I'm sure it was helped along by Xavier though.
I was sort of adopted by Logan and Kayla and while Kayla was great, Logan was...Well let's just say he won't be winning father of the year quite yet.
I knew I wasn't a normal kid and he wasn't a normal guy he was essentially a blank slate without Kayla, but he was learning. The last 8 years did nothing for his terrible bedside manner though, he's just not a touchy feely kind of guy.
I guess some things never change.
I knew things were heating up soon and I was glad that during the last eight years I visited multiple places that would be of significant interest in the future.
I did figure out some things about my powers though. I already knew that channeling my lightforce into my body strengthened it, but I found that the same was true for my mind.
With this discovery I was able to increase my learning speed explosively. I learned multiple different languages, martial arts, weapon arts, and became very knowledgeable about computer systems and genetics.
I also learned how to pilot pretty much every different type of vehicle, helicopters, jets, passenger airplanes, semis, tanks, motorcycles, speedboats, and varying other aquatic and land based vehicles.
Part of the reason for this was that I used them for training my Light constructs as similar to a green lantern, the more I know about something, whether it's a phenomenon, vehicle, or something as simple as anatomy. It allows me to recreate them with my Lightforce much easier.
Alright, enough with the backstory, it's time to jump into the limelight of the next major event in this new universe I've found myself in.
I had a few places to visit to verify the timeline and if the events of the story will continue how I expect.
