Unable to break free, Claire struggled helplessly, then suddenly scratched at Gilbert's waist.
"Pfft—" Gilbert jolted, a shiver of ticklish heat shooting through him as he burst into laughter, his arms instantly going limp.
Claire seized the moment and slipped away.
"Claire, just you wait. I'll make you beg for mercy," Gilbert growled through clenched teeth.
Claire ignored him and went to tidy the room.
At four in the afternoon, while she was preparing food, the children leapt out of the car and charged inside.
"Mummy! Daddy!" Adam raced in front, cheeks flushed and round, calling out loudly.
"Daddy, Mummy," Dean followed behind, cool and aloof as always.
"Oh dear." Claire hurriedly washed and dried her hands, then ran out.
The moment she entered the living room, she saw Adam and Dean sprinting toward her in unison.
