"You dared to lay a hand on the mother of my child?" Gilbert's voice was cold as ice. His eyes, sharp as blades, fixed on Kelly with a stare that could freeze blood.
Kelly felt the chill of death creeping up her spine. Her breath caught in her throat, and she didn't dare say a word.
Gilbert crouched down beside Claire and gently helped her up. As his gaze passed over the shattered jade Guanyin on the floor, a murderous glint flashed in his eyes.
"Claire, are you alright?"
"She kicked my leg. It hurts," Claire replied honestly, her voice steady.
Gilbert's jaw tightened. "And what do you think should be done about this?"
That shameless woman had not only assaulted Claire but also destroyed the jade Guanyin meant for his son. There was no chance he'd let her walk away unpunished.
