Claire checked their eyes, then made them each a cup of cassia tea and sliced some apples and blueberries for them to eat.
The two little ones ate half and delivered the rest to Gilbert.
Gilbert stared at the tea and fruit on his desk, momentarily dazed.
"Gilbert, have some cassia tea. I made it especially for you, it's good for your eyes."
"Gilbert, I washed some blueberries. Eat more, they're great for your eyes."
Anila's voice echoed in his mind, soft and gentle. Back then, when he was lost in darkness, she was the light that illuminated his world.
