He paused for two seconds, then strode in their direction.
Anna's laughter froze. She nudged Bonnie nervously. "Bonnie—Bonnie… your man's here."
Bonnie didn't even turn around, still tickling her. "Oh, please. You think I'd fall for that again? Same trick twice? Really?"
Anna: "…"
Up ahead, Derek Lee had already crossed the crowd toward them.
And behind him, Anna spotted Charlie entering a step later, his expression calm and leisurely.
The pressure that came with their arrival was suffocating, even Anna's eyelids twitched.
Bonnie might not make it out alive tonight.
Just as Bonnie was about to lunge again, she suddenly felt a chill crawl up her spine. Her hands froze midair, but she stubbornly refused to turn around.
Until a cool hand caught the back of her neck. She shuddered, swallowed hard, and slowly turned her head, only to meet Derek's eyes, faintly smiling yet dangerous.
He regarded her lazily. "Having fun?"
Bonnie blinked, her voice small. "It's… it's okay."
