He arched a brow, his tone cool. "So now even my compliments are wrong?"
"Compliment?" Charlie gave a sharp laugh. "Calling me liking men is a compliment?"
The moment the words "liking men" reached Derek's ears, his expression froze for a second. He looked at Charlie, brows slowly knitting. "Did I say you like men?"
Silence hung between them.
Then, in the same instant, both men realized what had happened.

Derek pulled out his phone. "I'll call her."
In the dead-quiet office, the only sound was the faint ring from Derek's phone, then a familiar female voice, "The number you have dialed is currently busy…"
Expressionless, Derek pocketed his phone. With a practiced calm, he said to Charlie, "She blocked me again."
Charlie: "…"
With the look of a man who had long accepted fate, Charlie gave a dry chuckle. Then, casually, he added, "She's probably too scared to answer my call right now. You try."
